Wanted Nunes but not at the price she was

I doubled down on Usman making my average price slightly worse but a fair big bet now will be a nice card saver if he wins now I just decided to trust my read that Usman will be so much stronger and more powerful than Colby that will be the difference

Pity about the aldo split Dec loss but obv happy with 2.75 given how the fight went if aldo wants to fight on he's still a handful for anyone at 135 and a top 5 fighter. Would love to see him fight Cody if he wins his next fight or Cruz or TJ once his suspensions over etc etc if he decides to fight on

Nunes is tired, and as such there is no excuse for De Randamie not stuffing any of the takedown attempts.

I feel like De Randamie hasn't even watched UFC fights before. Her strategy of turtling up when getting wailed on is terrible as is her strategy of trying to stall out from half guard. She also likes to punch from the bottom. She rarely ever tries to improve position.

Wow, randamie is so bad on the ground, how can 6 yrs of training look so pityful? She's also just a low iq fighter, took her 4 minutes to stand up?

Didn;t even train for 1 submission? wtf??

i guess usman will do something similar to colby?

Amanda is a great fighter but this was mostly a pathetic performance by De Randamie given how big of an advantage she has on the feet. 7 of 9 on takedowns for Nunes. It's like De Randamie had never seen a double leg before.

Colby is in the same camp as Nunes.

Yup, just a complete waste of space, seriously, such sloppy take downs and she almost drops to the ground, like she' pulling guard lol.

She had many chances to get back up, threaten a sub or scramble, but all she does is turtle up, which is exactly what she did 6 years ago. She has don exactly nothing over the years to improve her ground game!

Her fight iq, is just lol. Thinking if she pops Amanda from the bottom, like that will have any effect at all, other than make yourself more tired. Instead she should of been focusing on improving position or getting back up.

Colby is in the same camp as Nunes.
Is that a good thing? Does it have any impact on the fight?

To De Randamie's defense she does work full time as a police officer.

No, I'm just teasing that if anyone was going to implement Nunes's gameplan it would be Colby taking down Usman over and over. Realistically though I don't anticipate many takedowns in that fight but who knows how it will play out exactly.

Looking close so far but Volk looks good. I had r1 close/flip but all 3 sherdog guys had it for Volk, I have Volk ahead midway thru r2... this is a fight

To be live against Max you need to be the aggressor you can't let him get into a flow, Volk doing a decent job of that so far in general

Close r2, Volk won the ealy portion of the round and the last exchange, Max won the 3-4min mark

Could be anything from 20-18 to either guy so far

I feel like Volk should have at least one round if not both though with the leg kicks etc depends how heavily the judges are scoring them

Will be interesting to see whether he shoots at any point or not but if he feels he's winning the standup may not

Volk having success on the feet is not a surprise. Whether he can do it for 5 rounds is the question. Although, with the way he is working Max's legs maybe the question is now whether Max can keep going strong for 5 rounds.

Commentary thinks r2 closer than r1 if thats the case and I missed a bit of stuff in r1 should be 20-18 Volk or 19-19 then

That right is landing for Volk, just has to have the cardio to keep coming forward at Max if he can he should be able to win this a lot

Like I thought this comes down to who the aggressor is - both guys are used to getting into a flow and bullying their opponents, Volkanovski's not letting Max get into his usual flow of throwing combinations from range which is where he excels and breaks guys

R3 clear Volkanovski

Very smart corner Volkanovski's accurately say he shoulda won r1, 2 close and won r3 so he knows where he stands, and they're making the point that Max will throw more flashy/desperate stuff when behind

I'm a fan of the corner advice plus the questions Volk asked etc inbetween rounds there it's like the opposite of whatever BJ Penn's corner is

usually i'd be all for Volk shooting but tbh right now he's just winning the standup so i'm fine with how the fight is going just keep being the aggressor and throwing

I do like the single td attempt there just to get Max thinking even if he just exchanges for the rest of the fight will be in his mind

Max looking human in the 145 div. Could be 3-0 or 2-1 for Alex.

Another close round, Volk probably landed slightly cleaner but Max landed a lot too in r4

Could be anything from 40-36 to 38-38 here but prob average of 39-37 or so to Volk atm Max prob needs a finish

Volkanowski is exposing all of Max's weaknesses. Love it. Don't blow it in round 5!

Should be 4 rounds up a lot - if Max wins r5 he could steal a very questionable 48-47 split or something but good chance Volk has the decision locked on 2 judges cards at least

Max bringing it in r5 but Volk has got this probably

Volk can wrestle too, he really is an elite fighter everywhere and he also has a purple belt in BJJ that hes really never needed to use in the UFC so far

Max is winning r5 but this is his only clear round, Volk clearly won 3, everyone seems to think he won r1, I had him edging 2 and 4 but competitive too

Again the way these guys fight whoever the aggressor is has the advantage

Volk thinks he has the decision here happy to lose the round but win the fight

I think we're going to get an average of 48-47 Volk here as the 'median' decision

He certainly won the fight as a whole but there were enough close rounds it isn't quite a lock under 10 point

Hopefully we have our 2nd Aussie UFC champ ever
