I understand why it's a three round non-title fight. After all Anderson is a middleweight coming up to light heavyweight on super short notice. Not reasonable to ask someone to fight five rounds on 48 hours notice. Just consider it a super fight on an already stacked card.

Whole situation is absurd TBH - I'd say having Silva fight for the title would be equally nuts since he hasn't (with the Diaz NC) officially won a fight since 2012.

You're right though, if he does somehow pull this out of the bag then Cormier as LHW champion looks ridiculous. UFC clearly doesn't expect him to lose...

I loved Dana's statement on not booking Bisping though. Basically said "he's been smashing beers since he won the title and he's in no shape to fight right now" :P

+0.3u on the card for me, would have been +8.5 if the judges gave that fight to Nelson. Le sigh, that's MMA I guess.

Great card! Was happy to see Eddie Alvarez get the belt aside from winning money on it. Wish I bet his moneyline bigger. Roy Nelson losing that close decision was a big swing. The whole card submission props made my night though. 5.68 units net profit, not too bad of a start for the weekend.

Joanna is up to $1.83 now on Pinnacle and a few other places... what way is everyone leaning in that fight?

I want to bet Joanna at that price, figuring she's the better five-round fighter, her TDD has only gotten better since last time she fought Gadelha and she almost certainly wins any round where it stays on the feet (though I still expect them to be close rounds).

DC now showing at -600ish vs Silva in a few places on Best Fight Odds

He's gotta be winning this fight like 7 or 8 times out of 10, right?

Nightmare scenario for the UFC if Anderson wins, LHW will have a double paper champion (never avenged the Jones loss despite Jones probably juicing, and if he loses to a career MW too)

Lost something like 3.8u for the card, Nelson not getting the dec hurt and last minute RDA bet as well was stupid should have trusted my instincts that something looked wrong with RDA at weighin.
If Jones somehow gets cleared of this and Silva wins and then Jones win we get Jones Vs Silva next summer which would be good for the ufc

Nice hits on the sub props Jim.

Would def appreciate any bets you're hitting for multiple units for the next two cards so I can hit it hard if I like the same side or reevaluate if I like the other side.

I'm not too upset with my card despite losing 3u and change, mostly just upset that I added RDA late against my gut instinct. I like my Nelson live bet after round 2 at -130 despite the result, and if it weren't for the flurry with a minute left which looked unlikely with Lewis being gassed Nelson wins a 29-28 pretty easily and as it was it went to a split decision which feels close to worst case scenario, if Nelson had got the decision i'd have had a small win for the card.

Anderson is +375 vs Cormier, it feels about right as Cormier will have a huge size and style advantage but Anderson +375 is tempting vs anyone because it's still Anderson Silva even if he's past his prime. Might wait and see if Anderson TKO line hits +500 or so once props are out since if he's going to win it has to be by flattening Cormier he's certainly not going to be able to win a decision unless Cormier's takedown offense has gotten a lot worse recently. I guess he could get a fluke triangle from the bottom too but I doubt it. If Anderson ML gets above +400 I might have to fire just because it's Anderson Silva at that price and he can still have flashes of brilliance like in r3 against Bisping.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cormier win by TKO ground and pound or a 30-27, if Anderson wins it should be via something flashy like flying knee followed by GNP lot. I know Anderson is/was a cheat and his legacy is tarnished but I can't help but cheer for him anyway against DC especially when he's stepping in on short notice. Fully expect DC to dominate, but it's Anderson Silva

I think -400 is about right, DC has size and style advantage but it's still Anderson Silva and he can put anyone out with a flurry in a flash of brilliance. I don't think i'd be comfortable taking Jones even against Silva at higher than -400 or so and I bet on Bisping against Anderson (granted at +2xx)

DC is 100% the favourite, but it's still Anderson Silva and he can beat anyone on his day. Cormier has to be somewhat disappointed missing out on the payday of a lifetime (he'll still get paid here but nowhere near as much) and a complete change of opponent style has to be less than optimal for preparation. Obviously he's better prepared than Anderson and should win but are you really willing to lay -5xx on anyone against Anderson Silva? The Griffin fight was a lifetime ago, but he's showed time and time again he can both compete at LHW and land something brilliant on anyone.

@Porkchop maybe but DC still has the belt (this is a non title fight) so while he'd be a paper champ, he'd have to fight Jones first regardless if Jones was cleared. If Anderson beats DC you'd assume he gets an instant title fight at LHW for the belt if he wants it but he doesn't seem like he wants to be champ anymore and apparently requested this not be 5 rounds for the belt

Matthews (-135) 0.67u to win 0.5u

Good luck every1 !!!!

That stoppage was perfectly fine imo, do you guys really want to see RDA at 70% the rest of his career? Does Renan Barao or JDS ring a bell?
Spoiler:
pun intended

So I re-watched the Nelson fight and I still think by conventional judging standards that Nelson should have won... I can see where the get calling to for Lewis though. Mostly I'm pissed that Nelson mostly had the right game plan, but just didn't bother to throw any real strikes while he was clinching or on top.

More importantly though I didn't see anything that convinced me that Lewis is a competent fighter. He's absolutely live against guys with bad chins and lower-tier guys, but against anyone with even halfway reasonable striking or grappling, he's getting outworked and beat almost every time.

Will check results in few hours,

GL all with your bets,

If Alvarez beats Anjos it will be with short hook or some thing fluky inside.

Eddie Alvarez tough little dude, has the dog of 4 fighters surely outclassed and out gunned by a superior fighter tonight.

gl

knew this,

watching the fight you can see the clear skill advantage to Dos Anjos, whole other level, note Alvarez bum rushing and Dos Anjos snapping in that neck lock.

Alvarez had one road to victory here, some thing cute inside, a short powerful hook etc.

Some one in Dos Anjos camp should have also seen the same thing and told him to be extra special for this. Fight plays out over 3 to 5 roads Anjos out thinks out contacts and EASILY pressures Alvarez to a win if not a KO by over whelming and breaking him down.

Props to Alvarez coming into the cage like pumped Jake La Motta.

Dos Anjos gave the fight to Alvarez...

Feel fortunate to hit my Jouban w/black beast parlay yesterday.

My read on Roy Nelson is that he knew winning a boring fight was a bad thing so he thought I have 3rd round wrapped up and he cant KO me so lets just give the fans something to watch the last minute since previous 9 minutes I only pleased the fans of gay man sex.

I like Claudia tonight. She really seems to be in JJ head. I really think it will live up to the hype because both ladies have alot of hate for each other and love/belief in themselves.

Sucks was in vegas last weekend and couldn't find lines in any MGM properties.
