They have to shelve Connor before/in case he gets exposed. There's a reason he got the title fight so seemingly fast.

If he loses the $ won't have nearly the same draw and Aldo is a good matchup for him so they can even get a couple fights out of him as champ and/or a trilogy w/ Aldo. You have to sit him if you're the UFC imo, there's never been a more clear instance.

Selfishly I'd love to see him fight whoever whenever

No way connor gets edgar or chad,

If he fights expect it to be vs a striker with low KO power

Think of all the money that went into promoting this fight. The international draw for these two fighters is insane. All of the people from Brazil and Ireland that bought plane tickets and tickets to the event. I have never been more hyped about a fight than this one. THIS ****ING BLOWS.

There's a reason he's made it to the title fight without facing one

Lines haven't really moved and fight may still go ahead. Connor should now be huge favorite

I am hoping fight goes ahead so I can get money on Connor.

Betting aside, I would like to see a competitive bout where both are healthy.

See Pettis v Guida

Would be a good move from Aldo's size, business wise. Hit Dana up and say, I got injured, I'm delaying the fight, and then have Dana ship him more money to fight.

Conor will do fine defending takedowns, his hips looked good vs Siver. I'm more interested in his cardio in a 5 round fight.

You think he hasn't fought a wrestler by chance?

Wat are you talking about? I was the one bringing up they fast-tracked him to the title. I was the one saying you have to sit him.

Neither of those points are original or unique but you were agreeing with me.

And Guida beat Pettis. Did you forget that? Why would you act like me listing Pettis v Guida was a counter to wrestlers beating strikers? And it's completely analogous bc Pettis took that fight when he could've waited for the champ fight after Edgar/Maynard but wanted to stay active.

Weird post elliot

Lawler v. MacDonald is a fight I want to bet on but I think its pegged correctly at -200 for Rory.

Thoughts?

EDIT

How is Dillishaw -200? Is he that much better than Barao? I feel like Barao is a beast and don't see how anyone can be -200 against him...

Going to add a unit on McGregor incase the fight goes ahead given the injury

My first thought was Aldo is on roids and dodging tests but appears theyve confirmed the injury, hopefully fight goes ahead if not Aldo will be in the doghouse for a long time with the UFC

2u McGregor -101 (based mostly on injury/he'll close as fav now if fight goes ahead)

2u Rory -165 (Pinny line so far from everywhere else right now, he's -200 at most sites, I assume thatll move a bit but I don't mind Rory at -165 anyway)

I have been thinking this over. I feel like not having Aldo/McGregor is going to really hurt the UFC brand. Dana is going to make Aldo fight. I cannot see this fight getting canceled/rescheduled. This fight has to happen.

There's no reason it can't be rescheduled

All those plane tickets are inconsequential to the UFC. It's all about the PPV and ticket sales ultimately won't be any worse anyways.

I wonder how much of Aldo getting hurt in camp over and over is ****ing up and pissing hot in his self-testing and finding a plausible way out. Not like he didn't just flip his **** on a Nevada tester and get his test cancelled.

Not too likely, the story broke because a reporter was in there interviewing and saw the injury happen.

That being said would be more surprising if they were clean than dirty. The issues before the chad fight, his managers interview saying PEDs are good for the sport and the recent test chaos all point in one direction

I'd honestly be shocked if an average of one guy per division on the top-10 lists were clean over their last 5 years (counting TRT as a PED) and I'd probably lay -3000 on Aldo himself if I had to pick a side. Maybe this one was legit, but it's just "odd" how it all keeps happening, to say the least.

As they crack down on peds there will be more injuries. These guys are going to have to ratchet down the training without the drugs.

I think there is a lot to the argument of it being better for the sport than the alternative which is cat and mouse with the best mice winning all the time.

0.75u Machida -167, good chance I can get -150 on fight day but i'll just make it a full unit if price improves. This is basically 'is Machida done', if he isn't done as a fighter and the Machida who fought Weidman shows up, Machida is a -300 fav, if Machida's chin and takedown defense is gone then he's a slight dog but he's so offensively talented compared to Tim Kennedy who had Romero basically finished that he's still close to even money even if his chin is gone

0.75u Gordon +174, I think this is my fav pick of the card at the current prices, i'd actually cap this fight at pretty close to even money, maybe +120 for Gordon in Brazil and i'd cap it at even money outside Brazil

Also works out nicely that if they go 1-1 I roughly break even for the card

Pretty happy with my pending Weidman/Gustafsson/Rory Mac/McGregor bets (wouldn't have bet McGregor until the injury but now if Aldo fights without PEDs and with an injury, Conor should be the fav now)
