Really weird Test results for jones .29:1 so similar to 90 year old man.

Many saying its a sign of cycling, also greg savage says he hid under the cage at jacksons to dodge a random test on Dec 4th.

Looking like there's a reason he looked so strong in the clinch.....

Victor Conte ‏@VictorConte 8m8 minutes ago
Avg T/E ratio references. Asians .76 to 1, whites 1.2 to 1, blacks 1.3 to 1. @ufc Jon Jones 3 T/E tests were .29 to 1, .35 to 1, .19 to 1.

Elliot what does that mean in laymans terms? Does it mean he was way under the normal amount for an avg. human?

You're gonna get + on this considering Overeem will probably be favored.

Basically either he's nearly female, has an illness, is cycling off drugs or tests done incorrectly

Hopefully there will now be a more advanced isotope test done on the samples to answer any questions

It's far too much for the coke by the sounds of things, sounds much more like masking agent and low dose synthetic test.

Will be interesting to watch this one play out.

So if they detect masking agents or determine it's humanly impossible for a 27 year old in good shape to have such low numbers would they strip him of the belt as he'd be guilty of using a masking agent even though that doesn't 100% guarantee he was juicing... although why else would you take a masking agent.

Im not an expert but from what I've read so far the basic tests have been conducted but under WADA weird results like this should mean the samples get enhanced testing. The enhanced testing will show if synthetic test or masking agents have been used to create the results.

It will be interesting to see if NV actually do the enhanced testing here.

I was absolutely shocked Jones could wrestle with cormier without being taken down continuously. If it turns out he was juiced up the fight makes far more sense.

2u Bendo -136 vs Cerrone

Sooner or later i'll get a Cerrone fight right; Bendo matches up well unless he's done after the RDA fight which is unlikely. Bendo's beaten him twice. Cerrone fighting for second time on shortish notice.

And judges love Henderson ... A LOT!

In ther news:

Dana White: Anderson Silva to receive title shot with UFC 183 victory

http://mmajunkie.com/2015/01/dana-wh...fc-183-victory

So all Silva needs to do is beat a welterweight who hasn't won a fight since 2011.

To be honest I haven't seen that fight. I've seen all of Bendo's UFC fights except Thompson I think and while he's had some questionable decisions (especially Edgar 2 and from what i've heard Thompson - I had him winning Melendez and Edgar 1 was close)

On Anderson getting a title shot with a win I don't hate it simply because of the fluky nature of the second fight (and arguably the first as well)

The Jacare/Romero winner should probably get the shot first though with Anderson having to win two, but he isn't getting any younger so why not I mean he's arguably the GOAT he deserves to be able to fight whoever he wants if he's coming off a win much in the same way I wouldn't argue with Fedor getting an instant title shot in the UFC if he wanted one (or GSP but thats obvious since he retired with the belt)

I think Cerrone beat him the first time. Having said that, Henderson has added more to his skillset over the years than Cerrone has, and he should be able to get plenty of takedowns and win a decision.

Just feels strange with Jones getting tested positive for cocaine within 2-3 weeks of his bout, I mean, don't you usually take cocaine when you go out partying and not when you're in full training before one of your most important bouts? Feels more like what elliot is saying, that he's hiding something bigger and more related to performance enhancement.

Also, UFC's statement on this is ridic, other fighters get suspended and what not for using weed outside of competetion (doesn't weed stay a lot longer than cocaine in your body, which is why they are caught, not that they are smoking weed 1-2 weeks before their bout). The way they formulate them standing behind Jones is so hypocritical of them. Did Silva get the same treatment of them saying, go to rehab and we'll stand behind you after we found video footage of you holding coke?

Also, Jones is such an awful rolemodel for kids, basically what he is saying is:
As long as you praise Jesus, you can do whatever you want as you'll be forgiven, DUI, infidelity, drugs, someone pushes you, it's okey to start punching him. Oh, and it's okey to say one thing and do another.

You should watch that fight if you get a chance, really great, exciting fight imo.

Umm yeh you should also watch the fight since you appear to be assessing the value of a bet based on it.

Might as well bet on Matt Hamill because he won vs Jon Jones...

+1 to all of this.

Jones didn't go into rehab because he thinks he has a problem. He went into rehab for the same reason a politician turns to some mentor and becomes a born again Christian after he gets caught cheating on his wife. Jones knew that the test was going to be released so he acted first by saying he's going to rehab.

Another issue is why didn't the NSAC announce this prior to the fight but is ok with announcing it afterwards? The UFC obviously requested this. Furthermore what does it say about NSAC when they allow a fighter to go in the ring knowing that he's used coke within a month of the fight? Who's to say he wouldn't be using it while in the ring? Fighter safety should have forced them to cancel this fight... but that would be bad for business.

I expect his low tests that Elliot pointed out and this coke incident to be swept under the rug which is sad because the sport will lose credibility and with good reason.

I don't think AS deserves a shot after beating an inactive WW. He's lost twice to Weidman and although the 2nd fight was an unfortunately unlucky ending he was losing both fights.

The MW division is probably one of the most exciting divisions with Jacare, Romero, Belfort, Rochold, Weidman, AS and pushing a 3rd fight will force the other contenders to fight each other off. tbh I don't think AS even wants a 3rd match. I think he's taken Wanderlei's approach when he came to the UFC saying he doesn't need to be champion and just wants to put on exciting fights.

Silva only getting shot as he still has a big PPV draw and likely at his age/after injury another contender will beat him and take the UFCs opportunity to cash in.

I know the second fight ended strangely but he did get flash KO'd in the first round of that fight. It's not like he dominated before the leg break. They've fought 4 rounds and he's lost all 4 thats certainly not deserving of a shot prior to beating at least a top 10 fighter first (I would argue top 3)

Just rewatched. I gave r1 to Bendo, which was the only round in question. Bendo also completely gassed in r4/5.

Made money on Cerrone in his last 5 fights, think I'm sitting this one out. If Bendo gets steamed hard I'll take Cerrone, other than that I'm just going to be a fan.

The fight was a long time ago, i'm basing it more on Bendo/Cerrone's performances in the UFC since it was so long ago. Anthony Pettis was losing to Bart Palaszewski around that time and BJ Penn was fighting Kenny Florian for the LW title; they're both at totally different stages of their career now.

The one thing that worries me most is that with Benson having had the belt and lost it and lost a fight since he may not want it as badly as Cerrone does, but Cerrone fights dumb in a lot of his fights and while he was very impressive against Jury, Bendo is a legit top 5 LW with the right skillset to take out Cerrone (decent chin although he got KO'd last fight, better wrestling, decent volume striking, good gameplanning usually)

The gameplan should be volume striking, come forward, take Cerrone down when/if he throws kicks and top control/submission defense. Mix in takedown attempts, volume striking and kicks to win the standup if Cerrone won't throw kicks himself.

To beat Cerrone you have to be better at him than something and fight aggressively. In Bendo's case he's competitive in the striking but should own him with takedowns and top control if Cerrone leaves himself open to get taken down via aggressive striking and if he doesn't use all of his striking arsenal aggressively then Bendo is very live standing with him via volume strikes.

I mean, in practice, it's a Cerrone fight so anything can happen from Cerrone getting choked out in 42 seconds to Cerrone headkicking Bendo in the first round to a split decision for Bendo because judges love him.

Bendo does have better wins than Cerrone overall I think.

Pretty crazy that Cerrone has had 16 UFC fights by the way. Doesn't feel like that long ago that he debuted in the UFC.

I probably should have only gone a single unit rather than two though because as previously stated I suck at betting on Cerrone fights.
