Don't think I've ever seen a exciting Brad Tavares fight. He's definitely a solid fighter, but his style is just so uneventful. His matches always end up looking like a sparring match with both parties going at about 75%.
decided to make it 2u total on Jury. Looked over Cerrone's record again - he lost R1 to Alvarez and Miller, was getting lit up by Barboza before he cracked that chin... got rocked by Guillard, lost to RDA, got outboxed by Diaz... I mean he has piles of wins but I can't help but feel like he's run at least 1 win if not move above 'EV' over his UFC career so far and Jury is super consistent. Young up and comers are crushing today. Also, i'm biased because Cerrone rubs me the wrong way. Come on Jury, get the job done.
Jury's only had two iffy performances, a SD to Iaquinta who is pretty good and was an exhibition and the SD with Ricci who himself is hot and cold. Johnson, Gomi and Nijem are good wins and he did crush Diego. In theory, Cerrone is the bet on paper but I can't help but feel like Jury has more upside, especially with this steam potentially meaning something like Cerrone hiding a bad training camp or injury or something
Is this a 10-8 round? Jury basically didn't have any offensive, except the takedown which turned into a favor for Cerrone. He had Jury's back for almost 4 minutes.
Cerrone 20-18 Cerrone imo, won it due to harder leg kicks. Jury seems a bit lost, nothing he does is working. Jury not putting any weight behind his strikes.
Close r2. Biased commentary towards Cerrone makes it hard to score objectively could have gone either way. Would like Jury to be a bit more aggressive. I feel like he should be beating Cerrone. He should be. He just needs to do it.
