Casual fans love Guida I guess

I think the current line roughly reflects the true odds, I think Guida wins 1 in 3 or so

Would consider hedging off, but im down a few hundred for the event so I feel like gambling on Guida.

Unanimous cheers for Guida and boos for Maynard. Something about Maynard just annoys me, maybe it's because i'm an Edgar fan or the way he complains about fair decisions (Double KO, Edgar 2), Guida's hair and whatever else he can think of... but I really hope Guida can win this one or at least make an epic fight of it.

Can't imagine casual fans are moving MMA lines but the fact its a main event on free TV I guess makes it more possible.

10/9 Guida

Yeah i have 1u on Guida and I like it right now. If he can maintain that movement through all 5 rounds with enough cardio he's going to win.

That was the most entertaining round that nearly nothing happened in for some reason

10-9 Guida

2nd could have gone either way

look at the 'wtf' on Maynard's face when Guida's feinting

I was leaning 10-9 Maynard until the last 30 secs when Guida landed the kick which was the most significant strike of the round, so I think Guida got it in the end.

20-18 Guida imo

Guida needs some diaz style taunts to piss maynard off even more

lol maynard flips him off at the end of the round

VERY close round, i'd score it 10-10 or 10-9 Maynard. Could go either way though.

Sick round close again, top control vs failed guillotine attempt.

Clean shot for guida vs knees

I think 10-9 Guida, but the third was 10-9 Maynard. Probably.

39-37 Guida imo, but it could easily be 38-38 too (or 38-37 Guida)

FU miragliotta 'ill take 2 points' hes not running thats ******ed
MMA Thread Quote

I have it 48-47 Guida winning 1/2/4

Miragliotta cost Guida r5 though by telling him he'd take 2 points if he kept running, Guida was winning the round up to that point.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a robbery here but Guida won imo

Bull**** decision imo

Whatever, guess it was only 1 unit, but that's a clear win despite the 'running'.

Guida may have fought a 'cowards' fight or whatever but he executed his gameplan and won three rounds.

Which 3 out of curiousity, I assume 3/4/5?

All of the sherdog judges had 1/2/3 for Guida, I had 1/2/4 for guida

Guida clearly won 1 and 2, 3 and 4 were close, 5 was Maynards but only because the ref decided we're suddenly enforcing pride rules and threatened to take 2 points

3/4/5. and 4 was really close imo. 2 and 5 were also pretty damn close. 2 comes down to how much you weight octagon control vs. landing a huge kick

also
disclaimer: im not a mma expert by any means. ive watched my fair share but do not follow it incredibly closely

Octagon control is the least important criteria - it's effective striking and grappling, then octagon control. The kick mattered most

1 and 2 were actually the least close rounds imo then probably 5 was pretty clearly maynard by the end (remember, Guida landed more in 5 until the ref warned him).

3 and 4 could def go either way so in hindsight it isn't the WORST robbery ever, but I feel like Guida deserved the decision, despite what the 'just bleed' fans will tell you (which apparently includes dana white these days).

I probably would have scored it 49-48 Guida if 10-10 rounds were allowed, or 48-47 if not.

in that case 2 is guidas for sure. in 3/4 i thought the striking was pretty even but maynard was the aggressor/had far superior octagon control. 5 maynard def finished off strong. like i said tho i had it 3-2 maynard but can definitely understand someone scoring it in guidas favor. also if 10-10 rounds were allowed id give 4 a 10-10 for a tie.

I want to hear how just_mo and swiiftx scored it.

@just_mo try to do it without bias as I know you bet on Maynard. My scores watching it live were 10-9 Guida, 10-9, 9-10, 10-9, 9-10 although 3 and 4 could have both gone either way. Would need to rewatch it to try and score it again.

Initial analysis...Guida is the worst fighter in the world.

I had it 49-47 Maynard. If timidity was properly deducted, it would have been roughly 50-21 Maynard. Most embarrassing performance I have honestly ever seen in the octagon.

@Swoop, I had Maynard winning 49-47 I think it would be with Maynard taking 3 4 5 and 2nd a draw I think? I think it was 2nd. But I have been drinking a bit heavily since the Pearson loss. Sadly, I will never be able to score this fight from a sober perspective because I made a pact with myself to never watch this again. Horrific.

Fair enough, I was judging damage and strikes landed over octagon control - I guess it's subjective. Guida def won 2 though he landed a big kick and Maynard landed nothing. You can make a case for up to 48 for maynard imo but thats stretching it (3/4/5) and anyone who says Maynard won 1 or 2 is just blatantly wrong.

I think with equal bias you could score rounds 1-4 for Guida 49-46 imo

Fairest result is 48-47 Guida or 48-48 though imo
