not being on TRT really hurts the guys coming off it evidently
Despite the awful Schaub performance I think this technically puts Arlovski back in the top 10. He might actually be underrated right now especially after how close his fight was with Rumble, he's had some bad ones too though
I guess he gets the Nelson/Hunt winner or something now?
Could be worth fading Bigfoot if he gets a decent striker next, if this wasn't a fluke he could be in massive decline without roids/trt/whatever it was he failed the test for

I think since Spring when they started using advanced tests a lot of fighters have missed weight and I think the juice is part of it.
i love romero and hope he wins, but i haven't seen a single bit of evidence in any of his previous matchups that he is able to fluidly transition between striking and wrestling during a fight.
on the scale of translating amateur wrestling ability into mma takedowns he seems a lot closer to mark munoz than chris weidman and i actually think kennedy should be the favorite. maybe this is the fight that yoel is finally able to put it all together, but this is a pretty big step up in competition and i haven't seen him do it yet.
I actually think Arlovski beats Rothwell most of the time
Who would have thought he could potentially be ranked top 5 in 2014 a couple years ago
He actually matches up decently with Nelson too if Nelson beats Hunt, although he's drawing dead against Cain/JDS, drawing thin against Werdum and is probably a dog to Browne too i'd imagine
I def. think Arlovski would kill Rothwell but from a business perspective Rothwell's a great can to help legitimize Arlovski as a worthy top 5 opponent. This win... although huge for his career, could be written off as a fluke etc.
Arlovski looked like a different fighter than when he faced Schaub. This is a huge win for him as Silva is a top 5 fighter. I think it's pretty clear that him beating Silva wasn't a fluke as nothing happened prior which would lead us to believe Arlovski got lucky. It is a sort of peculiar situation, because Big Foot was ranked 4th, and Arlovski 14th. So how do the rankings look now?
Don't think Arlovski looked that much better then his last few perfromances as he has always been a decent athlete with solid boxing and moves well on his feet. Bigfoot looked flat footed and like the slouch he was early in his career think the lack of TRT massisvely affected him. Well done to the Arlovski backers though great call.
I'd take Rothwell as a dog against Andrei, the first time they fought in Affliction Arlovski was right at the peak of his career whilst Rothwell was still fairly green. Since then Arlovski has regressed and Rothwell has improved whilst retaining his durability. Not sure what the line would be think it would be close though.
I was BAMMA last night and agree that Paul Daley is a lot more well rounded now and picks his shots a lot better on his feet but he still struggles with out and out wrestlers. Some exciting fights in Bellator for him, Daley vs Koreshkov would be great and he has a decent shot at beating Douglas Lima. Daley vs Manhoef would be amazing and needs to happen now they have both signed for Bellator.
Also the more I think about Romero vs Kennedy matchup the more I agree with Elliot. His skill set should negate all of Kennedy's strengths and being a 3 round fight also favours Romero. He can also cover distance far better with his strikes then Kennedy can, whilst Kennedy has a lot more rigid style of striking usually using it to set up his takedowns or clinch work. I think Kennedy will eat strikes on the outside most of the fight and have little success in the clinch until maybe the third round when Romero tires but I don't see him finding a finish.
