Was that 3 strikes total for Lewis? Wow. Gane is the best heavyweight striker in the world. Who can beat him? A wrestler? His defensive wrestling looks good to me.

obviously francis is the test. lewis, a super plodding striker without any range weapons, was always gonna be the perfect canvas for gane to look great. francis doesn't move like gane, obv, but he is long, has a jab, he can kick a little, and he covers distance way faster than lewis. francis is my favorite fighter, but i favor gane pretty heavily at the moment. i think gane would be a very heavy favorite over current stipe, as well, and even bigger favorite over 265 jones.

there's no heavyweight wrestler right now that poses any threat to gane. the meta at heavyweight massively skews against wreslters just cause its so difficult to sustain a wrestling attack over the course of 15 minutes, let alone 25 minute title fight. almost nobody can defensively wrestle, which theoretically makes it easy for wrestlers, but the cardio issue is so tough to implement that game while avoiding strikes. gane hasn't shown anything which would make it look like he is susceptible to a grappling game, either. even dc wouldn't have had anything for gane at the end of his career. maybe someone like gable stevenson, but he's years away from being close to making noise in the ufc, if he even decides to go that route over something like wwe.

crazy how heavyweight has compelling matchups now. jon stipe gane and ngannou can be mixed up any way and it's good.

I mean if Ngannou wins it's going to be inside distance, Gane can win by whatever but Ngannou can win by one punch killshot against anyone but doubt he's winning 3 of 5 rounds without finishing Gane

Def looks like both are decent favs over anyone else in the division atm to me should be the biggest HW fight at least since Cain/JDS 1 in terms of anticipation at HW probably in how unbeatable both guys look etc

i just have cooper tonight. just happy to fade rory at this point. i think people are kind of kidding themselves as to how clearly rory won that tibau fight. i had rory, but it was honestly very close which is a massive indictment of rory at this point. coopers cardio is an issue, but hes just so much more powerful and athletic ill take a flyer. rory doesnt really seem to have a game anymore. not a dominant wrestler and slow and gunshy on the feet. even though it hasn't happened yet, i keep thinking that rory is close to getting absolutely merked on the feet. cooper might be the guy to do it.

Off the top of my head I don't mind Gastelum and Royval as dogs, and think Madsen should beat Guida

I think the next bet i'm excited for is Volk to beat down Ortega, yes Ortega has size and decent subs and literally that's it

Volk is a far better wrestler and can keep it standing or take Ortega down at will

Volk has close fights on the feet with Max and we saw how Max destroyed Ortega standing with volume striking plus Volk is a takedown threat when Max isn't, granted I doubt he will want to take Ortega down given Ortega's two ways to win are random one shot ko and landing a sub of some sort

I expect Volk to pick him apart on the feet en route to a 50-45 or late accumulation of damage stoppage
