^ The way he ran after Vitor after a failed takedown and several poorly set up/lazy shots against Romero.

Hmm ok i'll have to rewatch. In the Vitor fight he just defended the flurry then took him down and won via GnP is my recollection, I need to rewatch the Romero fight prior to placing a bet if I decide to

manuwa vs anderson over 1.5 for 1.67, same price as manuwa straight up, I don't think manuwa will knock him out in the first round right?
MMA Thread Quote

Price looks about right, Manuwa's had a lot of r2 finishes win or lose in his last few fights, i'd lean over because Anderson isn't a Rumble or Gus level finisher so if he wins it'll be a decision a fairly decent percentage and also doesn't have a bad chin and went 3 rounds with Shogun etc but Manuwa could end him early if he connects. If it ends in r1 it'll probably be Manuwa winning.

If I had to pick a side it'd probably be o1.5 though

I like the over 1½ in the Andreson/Manuwa fight at -160 and Anderson's KO prop at +480 (could be a ground & pound stoppage), plus nice juicy props on Anderson winning in round 3, 4 & 5 at +1400, +2100 and +3100 respectively.

trying to build up Gastelum's name recognition for a future title shot (whether at MW or WW)

I get what it does for Gastelum, I just think it's a bad idea for Anderson at this stage of his career unless he wants to end up like Vitor.

ya definitely doesnt do anything for Anderson, but unfortunately when ur older and no longer champion u get used to build up other contenders. at this point in his career, Anderson is just looking to finish up his contract & get paid well

Well AS is not as brittle as Vitor and has been a more proven commodity at middleweight than Vitor (who most often has 1 round to do his business). A tougher test than Vitor, and if he collects a win against one of the contenders for the GOAT title, Kelvins status will rise, especially as he should have a long career in the UFC.

It's far more important that AS faces true up and comers (not the likes of Brunson, who's chance of becoming a champion are rather slim). Feeding mediocre fighters to AS risks him losing and the UFC gaining nothing in return as the mediocre fighter will eventually be "exposed".

I think it'll be competitive. Gastelum should use a wrestling based gamesmanship to maximise his chances if he decides to stand and trade Silva can still turn his lights out. I'm a fan of the matchup and it makes sense rankings wise winner deserves a top contender and is just below Romero and Jacare v Whittaker winner

Speaking of please let Whittaker be +300 or better he matches up quite well and is a very live dog I'm. Expecting +2xx but wouldn't be shocked if I get +3xx

I wonder what lines could get on neither Romero or Jacare will ever win a real title (not interim) in the ufc...

The way UFC is handling fight scheduling these days, I would not be surprised to see Romero vs Jacare for interim title.

I'm wanting to start betting MMA. Been following along with the thread lately. Anyone have any must read material? Was only planning on starting with a $300-$500 bankroll. Is it even possible to run that up, or will juice eat me alive?

Eh, it's not your true bankroll if you are ok with re-upping if needed.

It'll be as good a place as any to start. Just focus on beating the closing line and let the chips fall as they may. Good luck

500 is fine just start off with 5 bucks per unit, a few good places to start are get any accounts you can out of pinnacle 5dimes matchbook and bet365 and Amy local books you have that have a lot of mma betting options and split the br between them. Look for lines that have started steaming but are slow to move at one book eg let's say jds moves in to +125 on pinnacle and you can still get +162 on b365. Look for value in opening lines, see if there are any of Jim's picks you like and look at some of the off market props on b365 and other local sites. There's also often value in fight or performance of the night props or fighter plus or minus point lines on 5d I especially like wrestlers -3.5 and -5.5 lines vs guys with no TDD for example let's say gsp fought condit or diaz again

One more point make sure to maximise any bonuses you get you should get a couple hundred from b365 if you're Australian most books offer bonuses and your country's locals might depending where you are. Take reduced juice on 5dimes, pinnacle doesn't do bonuses

Smashed Leon Edwards line at +137 for 8u. Was already liking that side and huge movement on Edwards he's in to +115

Going to make a decent play on Jimi manuwa put up an offer on matchbook at -135 probably going to go about 5u total and will take the -141 on offer if I don't get matched

Decided I like Jouban at +300ish yes gunnar will tap him a lot but that's a good price for a guy who should've the better striking. Will probably go 2u or so there haven't bet yet as the moneys been on Gunnar so far

Going to go 2u or so on on pickett too retirement fight at home against a big step down in competition put an offer up totem and get -135 should have bet sooner probably as I missed the movement

Might have to play madadi too for a unit or two esp if I can get +600ish yes Duffy is a decent favourite but doubt it's anywhere near that big when madadi is live everywhere the fight goes.

It's not my true bankroll. It's more of my "hey, here is $500 to start and have fun with"

Thanks everyone!

Got my 2u on Pickett

Just need to sort out my Manuwa bet (tempted by tko but ill prob just take straight up) and Jouban and maybe a small Madadi bet and that should do it

@Riddle if the BR is replaceable maybe go a bit more aggressive like $25/unit or something depending what you want to do to start off

Manuwa by tko. He is a wrecking machine, never going 5 rounds and just can't see him going for a sub. Manuwa by KO/TKO or DQ is 2.30 with Paddy.

Don't even bother with Madadi...

Love Jouban at the current prices I am seeing but haven't fired yet.

Currently I have...
5 units Pickett/Diakiese to win 8.5u
2.5 units Johnson/Duffy to win 2.6u

1 unit Luque/Diakiese/Johnson/Pickett/Manuwa to win 11.5u

I'm going to this event so I am planning a ton of props for the live fun.

Insane line movement on the Steven Siler vs Hakeem Dawodu fight at WSOF 35 on Saturday. Dawodu is a flashy striker and promising prospect with a great highlight reel, but Siler is a big step up for him. Siler went from +130 to +375 in a matter of hours. I'm big on Siler now at increasing prices. Great value there, unless you buy into a conspiracy theory of some kind.
