Meh decision, I think Jury won r1 and r2 was a bit of a draw. Sudden death, iaq won though.

Iaquinta won the second. How did you see Jury doing enough for a draw in the second? My only complaint is Jury somehow winning the third on one card.

It's not the fact that I think Jury did anything big in the 2nd, but more the fact that Iaq didn't do much either. I think Iaq won the standup in the 2nd, not by much, but he won it, but I think Jury having his back and having a takedown kind of counter-feited the little advantage Iaq had in the standup pointwise. Though, I'm not saying its a robbery or anything, just saying I could have seen it going to Jury.
Yeah, third round I'm surprised how anyone gave it to Jury.

Lol @ Jury winning the second. It wasn't even close, all he did was feint and miss strikes, while Al was pressing forward and landing. Only first round was close, and Jury basically won that because of the last 30 secs.

Just put 2u on Struve at -110

Probably should have put more my bet alone moved him to -112 lol and I have a feeling Struve will be -130 by fight time but who knows maybe people are dumb like they were last time they doubted Struve against a semican.

Struve is way, way better than everyone thinks and should beat Hunt close to 2 in 3 times imo. I may hit the line harder later and if Struve becomes a dog i might end up with 5+ units on him.

Current pending bets are Struve, and I have 2 units on Miguel Torres vs Michael Mcdonald as well.

First round jury was landed far more than Iaq, he was the more technical and diverse striker. Yeah, Iaq was the aggressor, but it wasn't effective aggression in the first round.

I don't think they did. After 2 rounds

2 judges: 1-1
1 judge: 2-0 Jury = Majority Draw

All 3 judges see rd 3 for Iaq
Final Scores
1 judge: 2-1 Jury
2 judges: 2-1 Iaq

I think it was because of the TD at the end of the round.

He did buckle him w/ a back fist too but took an overhand coming in to swarm

TD at the end of the second with 10 seconds left where Jury ate some elbows without him throwing anything? Or do you mean the first?

Because in the second yes, they both rocked each other in that exchange, but other than that it was all Al pressing forward, and landing, while Jury was backing away and throwing flashy knees that hit air. Basically what Condit did vs. Diaz without landing or being effective.

Hunt by KO IMO.

Side note, could he be getting matched any more favorably...or is HW just this bad...

Let's hope so. Still if struve can get a trip or some takedown, hunts in big trouble.

I'm interested in knowing just how much Hunts groundgame has improved.

FWIW I haven't been this confident in an evens-ish bet since Belfort vs Johnson

Struve's going to get it to the ground and make Hunt tap.

With what takedowns? lol

Hunt will definitely be subbed if he spends any significant time on the ground hell maybe even insignificant time. Struve is going to stand with him though, whether he wants to or not (and I have a sneaking suspicion he wants to, cmon it's Struve).

If he can get him to the ground, then yeah, that's a high possibility.

Though if he does what he did vs Herman in the first round, he's going to get KTFO.

This.

I think I'm going to make a new thread, didn't we say this was going to be quarterly in the early posts?

I don't remember people agreeing to that. I don't see the point, but if so, we can make a vote who creates the next as I'm sure some of the regs here would want to make it as well. Though I quite like it having loads of pages, easier to recognize, whill will take some tiem to build up again.

Why does it matter who makes the thread?

Idk, I'm just talking out of experience, ppl like to start threads on these forums for some reason. Though I don't see the point in starting a new one, that's all.

Besides, it's nice with old threads. The soccer thread is from 2009 for instance. Anyway, I'll do w/e the majority wants to do.

I don't see the point in starting a new thread but if people want to thats fine

Also don't see the point in rehashing my 'Struve is 7-3 in the UFC; one loss is to the champ, one was a fluke and two were when he was green and his opponent is overrated yet again' argument like I did when he faced Herman since it'll basically be all the same points I made then

Struve is like Mir in that people remember his spectacular TKO losses, but when it's all said and done he only loses to legit top guys, and Hunt is not a legit top guy. (Mir is a level above Struve though obv)

Agree, no reason to have the same convo over n over again. Should be an interesting fight nonetheless, don't really see it going past r2.

I hadn't started looking at future cards yet. That's awesome match making

RE: Starting thread

The issue, in the past, was people not including a fight odds gif - not who got the honor of starting the thread. No need to start threads anymore IMO just keep this one going. Look at the horse-racing thread

I was talking about the 2nd. I bet Al and scored the 2nd for him also - just was guessing at why one judge did give the round to Jury
