Zeljko might be the wealthiest. But the only way to get a billion is to be on the other side of the desk and super lucky. Even the most successful entrepreneurs (atleast legit) in sports betting don't ship a b.

I guess the pokerstars guys did it. And maybe a few others? Too bad they also decided to engage in completely absurd and high profile bank fraud which put them in jail for umm... 0 days.

I read somewhere that it's very hard to stay mad at someone and it requires a lot of energy to keep the anger going...

I thought it to be true looking into my own life but looking at some of you that might not be the case ey

Less than 1%? They've raised vig, move on air now, and do lots of the other chicken **** stuff 99% of books do. Given how nitty they've become across the board, i doubt they're spewing in the handful of markets they do still play ball in.

idk what ed miller is thinking

that thread is garbage ,the vast majority of that thread is just thremp insulting bob voulgaris and vice versa

I think that Ed Miller guy is upset that his book wasn't getting the praise here that it was on the elite gamblers twitter. Not our fault that it was full of poor examples that didn't support the theory he copied from other people and made the reader question if the author really understood what he was typing. I'm sure Version 2 can fix all those issues.

But it's thanksgiving so lets be thankful that people like him have a space to come across as experts and keep the industry alive. Best of luck with your company that is about 8 years too late.

Some things I don't understand in this video (even after completing STATS 102)

at ~49 seconds he says they have the fair line as +109 which is 47.85% and the book offered +120 and then he says that a bettor would have a "profitable bet of 2%" (does he mean 2% edge?) and that they would win $4 for every $100 bet

Couple questions:
47.85% to win at +120 is a 5.27% edge, so where does the 2% come from?
Even with full kelly, the expected profit on that bet is 0.23% and expected growth 0.1155%. So how is the expected profit on a $100 bet $4 (4%)? To get a 4% expected profit, the win probability would have to be ~55.41% or a 21.9% edge.

I'm guessing "profitable bet of 2%" would be a half kelly fraction. (more like 2.2%) Maybe they think half kelly is the only way to go.

Not sure about the rest, I didn't watch it

In this case, I think his "edge" is the difference between the predicted price and actual price (48 vs 46% is 2% edge, or 4% ROR).

The principal of Deck Prism has been very successful over the years destroying major sportsbooks with 1% edges (or 2% theoretical ROId).

daringly,

I know you're not a math dude, but wtf. What do you even mean by ROR? Rate of Return?

maybe i over spoke, tilt as is makes me apathetic towards humanity, not really upset, mad, or angry at anyone - i just don't like how that guy hijacks popular things happening by screenshotting and creating a new conversation led by him rather than contributing to the existing conversation

Poor Ed Miller. That video is bad.
11-30-2019 , 09:45 AM
Does anyone even know what Ed miller does for a living? his poker books wer pretty terrible and now it looks like hes gone into the mediocre sports betting book territory. Is it possible hes made enough money telling people how to gamble without having to do it himself?
11-30-2019 , 10:55 AM
I dunno but pretty sure when we assume there are two drives left in the game, it is somehow possible, in theory, for both to result in points. I mean... I didn't model it in realtime, so this is all conjecture on my part.

Would you say you have an above average stress level?
P00gs1

No, not even remotely. I’ve worked regular, hard jobs (roofing, moving, land scaping, driving a truck.) stress is trying to pay rent when you make 30k a year. Making six figures from your house with no boss, no set hours and no co-workers is the opposite of stress. I very rarely watch games I have money on. I’ve had 5 figure positions on games that I played Fallout instead of watching.
