Since 2005, if you bet on every NFL favorite, you’d have gone 1859-1860-111 against the spread (yes, these oddsmakers know what they’re doing). Because of the juice, that 50% win rate would’ve lost you 78.5 units.
assumption of linear value of points, ignoring that there's two numbers involved in a bet, static unit sizes.

A+

How easy/smart is it to get a Bovada withdrawal in bitcoin? I really don't need the cash right now, but if I did how easy is it to sell bitcoin for US dollars? Would you use a bitcoin ATM to do it? I wouldn't mind a little exposure to bitcoin now, so it's tempting.

Quite easy with Bitpay card, and very smart if you are in the US you will wonder why you haven't done it sooner.

Sad day. TomGTotalBases2 is on it's last legs and is going off to the server farm in the sky.

It served me well since it was deployed in mid April 2015, only going down once on Nov 16 2016 due to a bug in a script that created an infinite loop and crashed it.

Even though it performed admirable in the last 3 years, it's running too slow now and making life difficult. Calculations that used to take 8 minutes are now taking 20-30 minutes and are occasionally incomplete which require the process to be re-run manually. Currently it's still trying to process horse racing predictions for races that have been over for several hours. At least six hours behind schedule.

thank you for your service.

I'm a data scientist looking to build a baseball model for 2019 and beyond. I'm at the very beginning of this journey. Hit me with any general advice. Or flame me. Whatever.

I am also early in this journey so take my advice for what it is but a good starting point is the mlb chapter in Conquering Risk: Attacking Vegas and Wall Street by Elihu Feustel , George Howard
It starts with season long projections for each batter and based on projected at bats per game create a team total for 1b, 2b, 3b, hr, sb, bb, etc, etc. Plug team totals into a regression using historical coefficients. Do the same for pitching using projected innings pitched and team reliever stats. Average team A off with team B def based on league average to come up with a run total for each team on a neutral field. Adjust for umpire, stadium, weather, home field advantage, and whatever else you think important. Hope this helps. Good luck.
