What kind of bets are we talking about also per game amount etc?

I have heard Appleton Inc. is in talks with the Iowa! syndicate to join forces against the Taiwanese.

Is sports betting profitable as a very casual hobby? I'm interested in whether it's worth my time to work on sports for 5-10 hours per week rather than something like chess.

FWIW, for me personally, poker is an example of something not worth playing/studying for 5 hours a week.

the fact you can only get 1-3 bets down is pretty lol other than Ladbrokes and Sb you can run up 5-10k at most books pre ban if you stick to major sports only. Are you trying to bet on challenger league tennis or on Ladbrokes or something? If you can't get to 10k pre ban on Lux crown and topbetta you're doing it wrong and there are tab outlets everywhere to bet in person. Plus the new centrebet (wh lines) doesn't ban on major sports. Sure you can't get down 10k a game on the aus books (other than cbs 10k limits for the powerbet thing) but 1k is pretty easy on most stuff, also it is possible to have friends create new accounts when you know a lot of poker players who don't sports bet themselves. Hell luxbet usually take 1k plus at gametime on off market lines even after you're limited and ubet give you 1k per minute on afl even after limited. You're welcome if I just made you some money. Get some friends and a VPN and if you're firing 500-1k a game you can last a few months per round of accounts at most books then obv you can use cris 5d and pinny plus the exchanges too.

for whatever its worth, admittedly not a whole lot, but at least a little bit, the past month or so has been quite bad for books and sharps and quite good for squares. Just what Im hearing and sort of going through.

wish I could say the same. Decemeber was awful, january started out ok but last week sucked and this past week has been ok at best. Overall it was an absolutely tremendous year for me though so I cant really complain.

Can someone explain to me how someone can have useful writeups when they don't yield any +EV bets and trail a naive math based approach. This is really baffling me.

I could see how they could generate expectation by stimulating someone else to do something worthwhile. Kinda like suggesting "Hey I heard jai alai is really soft", but I can't understand how this could be anymore useful than PTI.

Please help. I have not been able to find any books on this subject, but the posters in the MMA thread keep insisting this is useful.

I had an agent at betcris (local book). Roughly abt 3 weeks ago, he said betcris had lost abt 10mm( the 6 weeks before new year) for NFL in the socal area alone. He was b-tching about that Oakland Game where it went from -3 to -2.5, and how it put him in crazy amt of make-up. He was not happy abt it....

This NFL season, square bets have been winning. A bunch of other books complained too, but smaller books are def suffering. There are a lot of master agents switching books to reset their make-up.

well yea, sure. dont you think its possible though that people "know" this but still like doing their little write ups too? I mean yea 99% of write ups are pure garbage, but I dont think a little subjective analysis here and there is a total and complete waste. Especially this being a sports betting forum and all. You can make a bet soley based on what your model says, as all winners do, and still ascribe a subjective reading of it just cuz its sort of fun and why not.
