I grew up in the city. Until about 7 or 8 years old we lived in Mission Hill Roxbury across the street from the projects in the early seventies.
I went went Boston public schools.
There were some Latino kids in the neighborhood, around 12 , 13 years old, who didn't like us. They once pepper sprayed me in the eyes as I was just walk down the street. Then one day they cornered me and my brother at the school yard after school or on a weekend. Suddenly, a bunch of black friends of my older brother showed up. They stood by our side and intimidated the other kids to leave.
One day in highschool I was flirting with a not blond girl in my class. I huge black kid who I didn't talk much with, he was about 6'3, threatened to kick my but and went after me with his group after school. I barely escaped in my friends car. The blond was his girlfriend. Hey, I didn't know. When I was rubbing her back, she didn't protest.
I can try a book act stories of friendship and stories of being harassed and threatened by black people. So you know what I learned growing up in the city?
Black people are exactly that, people. Just like everyone else.
I could write a book about good and bad experiences with white people.
Don't mean I'm going to go about hating white people.

Ivr, when will people like you get it through your heads that black people are a part of this country and aren't going anywhere.
