Booked with Naj on a settled number of +600 on KC to Make the NFL Playoffs.

Will take additional action on this same price, same caveat as above.

For those following along, this should give you an indication of my perception of the value of the No currently on that Greek line...

Sorry for the hijack Assani, but at least it keeps your thread up

I would like to risk $200 to win $1200 then.

Let me know, so I can arb it.

I can't imagine there are 6 teams that are only ~11% to make the playoffs. Now off to check some odds to see if I'm wrong.
I'm not sure I would calculate it that way. JMHO.
Understood, just a starting point in my mind. If there is a team that is only 5% or something, obviously the other 5 teams don't need to be quite as bad.
Yeah, I figured you knew that, just pointing it out. Almost didn't but I booked with Assani so it's all good.

Why dont you just ask people you know/trust to hammer the Greek line for you? Is tying up the money or the interest off the Yes side that good?

What am I missing?

combination of factors.

My interest on the No is that high.

I've already hit everyone I know (outside of making a general request in this forum) to hit the Greek line.

Combine that with the ability to keep my money in play and my perceived edge, and I'm happy to book this at +600.

I'm more than happy for people to arb this against me, assuming they trust me and are willing to let me hold the money.

The falcons are bill simmons' sleeper this year. I irrationally trust bill simmons.

book a 9-7 record and the playoffs for the falcons.

i normally find simmons pretty harmless but that article was so bad imo...his first argument in falcons being a sleeper: "Joey Harrington is one the best offensive minds in the league."

...?

shremp want to give me 20 to 1 that jets make and chiefs don't?
I offer a bet..... Quote

if not I like giving you 6 to 1 on kc
I offer a bet..... Quote

you'd be getting 6:1 not giving... you'd be on the Chiefs DO make it

I PMed Performify asking if it was ok to post a thread challenging people to a bet, and he said it was...

You name either 5 or 6 teams that will not make the NFL playoffs this year. If they all don't make it, you win. If one or more of them make it, I win. I'll offer even money on 6 teams, you must give me 1.5-1 on 5 teams.

Max bet $2500

I will take up to $10,000 in total action.

Two options regarding the trust issue. I would trust any of the following 4 people to hold the money:

bones
miami32
macdaddy991
SirFelixCat

Performify mentioned in his PM response to me that he has held money in the past. If this is the only solution then I would be ok with that as well.

Or we could exchange phone numbers and addresses with the understanding that the loser will only send the money via check to that address. That insures that we know where each other lives.

I have lost bets before and paid them in the Sporting Events forum and I can provide 2 references if necessary.
i'll take 2k of your action, on 6 teams even money. the only obstacle is that i don't wish to bear the opportunity cost of having 2k of my br out of comission for 3months. if we can work out a credit deal or have an interest bearing escrow acct setup it would def work. references and personal details from both counterparties are of course expected...

reply back if there's interest

No offense, but your low post count is cause for concern on my end. Please PM me with your personal info and some references, and I'll see what I can do.

it shouldn't matter if he has one post if it's going in an escrow account.

Assani,

I can personally vouch for TrixTrix.

His low post count should not be a concern. He's a very respected poster with a great long history on another site. I know him (to an extent anyways) away from this forum, have his personal contact info, etc.

He's definitely good for the money if you were willing to take it on credit.

If not, I'd be happy to escrow it at an APY of 4.25% (the rate of my current e-savings account ). Not sure if that's a sufficient rate for what you guys are looking for.

(note: i'm not escrowing everything i hold at 4.25%, this is a very specific offer where I'm willing to do a personal favor for someone to transfer their held money from my poker account to my savings account and pay out the earn)

Fair enough...I will trust him then.

Just let me know exactly how you want to do it. Since people are vouching for you, I will be perectly fine with the honor system if we exchange phone numbers and addresses.

I'm not betting. I'm just here to say that if this is a sucker bet, then I'm a sucker.

Also, I want to see how I "would have" done, so I'm posting my six teams here, to be graded at the end of the season:

Oak, Cle, Hou, Tam, SF, Ariz.
