Not sure about the names thing Allen,i was just making an off the cuff remark to a sad story.

This will be the furthest Call Me Honcho has ran,but he is versatile horse and gets Rosario back on him after the BS ride P Val gave him last out. He is getting a fair price at a ML 8-1,but again the ML means nothing at Del Mar.

Thanks for your help Static on the line and how it works,i was clueless till you pointed that out to me. I suppose all the bombs that have been hitting the entire meet are flukes.

Its not a racing secretary its a line maker, and his name is John White,he makes the line for the so cal circuit.

Maybe you should take a peek through this thread next time, but i did enjoy the laugh. Good luck yourself.

whats a bomb? all i was pointing out is that that line doesnt breed a horse out side the front three odds. cmh wasnt going to win today sorry for your loss
there are people that look at other things than the form and win, good luck

A bomb by what you described was any horse outside the top 3,and over 6-1 odds,or did i miss something.

And what loss? I follow this horse because of my name, where did i tout him as the winner? I said he was getting a fair price, and i have never touted a horse since i started this thread. I think you saw what you wanted to see obviously. I dont need luck,i have talent, and have proved it time and time again in this thread new guy.

Was at the post position draw for Sunday's races at Emerald Downs it was a lot of fun, always neat to check out the horses in the stables and watch them work.

Good news: He's All Heart got his best draw of the year

He is racing in the 50k Muckleshoot Tribal Classic 1 mile which is for three year olds and upward foaled in Washington or sired by a stallion in Washington during the year bred.

1- Wasserman 8yr old On his last racing legs, but a local favorite none the less (6 races 0-0-0 this year in stake races)

2- Margo's Gift 5 year old who, Hasn't performed well since a wonderful stretch as a two year old (6 races 2-0-1 this year in OC/50k stake races)

3- Noosa Beach 4 year old who is the pride of the Northwest this year, and will hopefully be racing in Kentucky later in the season, this horse is 5-1-0 in 6 races this year all in stakes, including a win in the G3 Long Acres Mile, the works on this horse are never that great but everytime on the track it lights it up, Lifetime Noosa Beach is 9-3-2 in 15 races for a career earnings of 340k!, second highest in this race behind the ancient Wasserman who has amassed over 500k.

4- Siberian Cocktail a 4 year old, I havent seen this horse race much, couple weeks back he was racing in a 15000 claiming race featuring one of my horses (well not mine but my mom's boyfriend is getting tiresome to say) Heidleburg and ran well going 6 furlongs in 1:08 despite never being pressed that said this is a bit of a step up in competition for him. I was told that I should look for this horse to try and bolt out to an early lead and hold it.

5- He's All Heart a 4 year old, Heart has been racing in largely OC 50k's this year. Some people wanted him to run in the LongAcre Mile 250k G3 this year but the trainer and principle owner are more interested in next season. On the year he is 2-1-1 in 6 races. In his last workout on 8/29 he ran 5f in :58 which was 1/24

6- Scalding Passion a 6 year old, Passion has been racing lower claiming races 7500 being its most recent, however this horse in the past has shown quality glimpses and used to regularly compete in 30-40k Allowances, definately one of the longshots.

Ok this draw is the best for Heart all year he has had some bad luck drawing the rail or the 2 hole, but in this race he is in the 5 slot with the two fastest horses occupying 3,4. He should be able to stalk the pace and come up on the back stretch unmolested from the outside.

Realistically Heart is shooting for 2nd, Noosa Beach is a clear class above the rest, I suspect it will go Noosa Beach, and its between Heart and Margo's Gift for 2nd,.

The track may stay a bit of a slop for the race which could favor Heart.

Put a win bet on the #7 in DM Race 3. only after they took off did I realize it was M. Honcho's namesake

p4:

7) 2,6,7
8) 1,3,4,10
9) 2
10) 6,9

$12

Nothing like taking a day off poker and putting in $2 win bets <3 racing

This will be the LAST time i respond to you Static, and i will do it as politely as i kniow how.

1st off,AllenJ was just reminding us REGULARS in the horse thread that Call Me Honcho was runnig today period. He never said play him,he was playing him,or anything else. Had you been a REGULAR in this thread you would know this.

I did say there was value here to him,and there was at 8-1. I lost $20 which is my standard wager for this horse, just because of his name. I DO NOT consider $20 a loss,i dont even consider 20 bucks to be honest, everyones bankroll is different.

I would be happy for you to start capping a few cards and making them public so we can follow them, then we will determine if your advice is worth anything or not. If you believe in wagering only on the top 3 per the ML,you will not be successful.

Your going to rub people the wrong way jumping into a thread giving advice when you have no clout behind you. I look forward to your capped cards if you choose to do so. Kevroc and myself are always willing to help anyone out,Kev is much more patient than myself, and a MOD here at 2+2.

LOL Vet,did you hide the names and cap the card? I think O'Neil is trying him at all different distances and surfaces. I put my normal $20 on him myself,i am happy Del Mar is done today im looking forward to some poker actually, and am off SoCal till Oaktree.

Speaking of O'Neil he is getting a bad reputation this year with his "milkshake" acusations again and another pending suspension.

Kev i appreciate your opinion, and its only that your opinion on the matter. I could care less if it was soft as cotton,or abrasive as you say it wasnt. I was only including you in the convo as a fellow respected poster to this thread, who was also a mod here at 2+2. How on earth you would think i refered to you otherwise as an authority,or could do something in your mod capacity just flat out baffles me. I will be careful not to include your name in any convo i have from here on out, because frankly your high road act and political correctness gets real old,but i understand you HAVE to be. I am not like you for better or for worse, but i am always straight with people. Maybe we can get back to talking horse, that would be nice, and if i need anyones advice i will ask.

This is on the bloodhorse news section today:

The Delaware lottery which oversees sports betting at Delaware Park and 2 harness tracks in the state is launching a 100k contest that will return 50k to the players who picks the most NFL winners during the NFL season, the cost to play is $250. The track also offers weekly parlay wagering on NFL games and 9% of revenue sports betting goes to Delaware Park.

I thought that sports betting was overturned in Delaware, but i obv am wrong, but i think this is a decent opportunity to make some decent cash and also limit your loss to $250 for the year in betting NFL games. The plus to this is obv the 9% that goes back into the horse community. I know AllenJ is from around that area, maybe you can give us a little more info about the track and this contest. With California raising their takeout up 15% starting 12/26/10 i wish they could of done something like this to create revenue as opposed to again passing their deficit onto us the horse player. I honestly dont know how they continue to have a deficit in California unless whoever is managing the finances just flat out is a moron at their job. It would be like for example installing 3 different track surfaces within 2 years at around 3-5 million each time,(Santa Anita)that would waste a butt load of coin, and then they pass the financing of this stupidity onto the horse player with increases in takeout.

Just wanted to alert you guys to a of couple of nice overlays on the Wynn's Breeders Cup sheet (dated 9/7).

First off, Twirling Candy to win the Classic @ 75/1. This horse has a ton of ability, i mean a ton, and the way things have shaken out recently, it looks like the Classic is his most likely target. He won the Oceanside Stakes at a mile on grass in his two-turn (and stakes) debut, and just took the 1 1/8-mile Del Mar Derby on grass over the weekend. That being said, there's very little chance he'll be pointed to the Breeders Cup Mile, because his stablemate Sidney's Candy is being pointed there after his tour de force in the La Jolla Handicap (his grass debut), and trainer John Sadler won't be looking to enter both of his star colts in the same race.

That being the case, it was announced before the Del Mar Derby that Twirling Candy would be pointed to the Goodwood Stakes @ Oak Tree, which has traditionally been the top West Coast prep for the Classic. The surface switch isn't an issue, as Twirling Candy looked equally sensational winning an allowance race on the main track earlier this year, and the way he's been running, it's hard to expect anything other than a strong performance in that race. That in all likelyhood would land him in the Classic, where of course he'll still have to beat the mighty Zenyatta. No easy task, to put it mildly, but i can honestly say that of all the horses i've seen this year, Twirling Candy would probably pose the biggest threat to her. He would be running on dirt for the first time (the race is @ Churchill Downs this year), but that probably isn't a huge deal. All in all, a pretty large overlay at the current listed price.

The other one i wanted to mention is Sidney's Candy, who is listed for the Mile (not the Dirt Mile) @ 11/1. He looked fantastic early this year beginning with the San Vicente, and in fact he was my pick to win the Kentucky Derby (where he failed miserably). Given a break after that debacle, he returned after a layoff to run in the 1 1/8-mile Swaps Stakes, where i thought he ran a very solid race despite getting beat a nose as the 1/5 favorite. He set a contested pace along the inside, then opened up on the eventual winner coming off the turn, but i think the distance was probably a bit much for him coming off the long break, and he just got tired late. I expected an improved effort in his next race with the added conditioning under his belt, but in no way did i expect the absolutely monstrous performance that he turned in. It seems that he just adores the grass, and shortening up a bit in distance probably didn't hurt either. Looks like a gigantic threat to win the Mile (which is slightly shorter than the La Jolla, another positive) as long as he gets through the Oak Tree Mile in one piece. Price not huge with two months to go and a race in-between, but there's every chance he could end up being reasonably short price in the Mile, the European invaders notwithstanding. Hard to say without seeing the results of his next race, but somewhere in the neighborhood of 5/2 isn't out of the question by any means. That would make 11/1 look awfully good on raceday. Hard not to like at the current price.

^ Good writeup DC. Anybody going to the BC this year?

I'm looking at a 5.5F race. In it there's a 7yo who, based on results through '08, would be like a 2:1 favorite here. However it's only had one start since then, last month where it couldn't even finish the race. Is there somewhere I can go to read about that horse in particular?

After watching Fairplex and Turfway Park yesterday, I decided to get todays DRF and put together late Picks 4's at both tracks. Watching Martin Pedroza win 6 races at Fairplex yesterday, a track he owns, made me interested to see if there was any value in todays card if you could beat him. Turfway gained my attention with some decent size fields in their late Pick 4 plus yesterdays decent payouts.

I usually stick to the NYRA circuit but with Belmont off till tomorrow I'm looking for a little action to watch while I pregame before hitting the bars tonight.

Not that anyone cares but here is what I came up with. I put my top picks in each race in paranthesis. I'm playing both a $1 ticket and a $.50 ticket since I would like a little more coverage in a race at both tracks. I normally limit any exoctic wagers to around a $40 ticket but tonight I'm going a little over because I think there is value. I'm only spending a total of $165 for all four tickets. I think it's great that these tracks offer the $.50 Pick 4 wager, I wish NYRA would do the same.

Fairplex - $1 Pick 4, Total Wager - $54

8th. (4),6
9th. 2,6,(8)
10th. 2,(4),5
11th. 1,(2),7

Fairplex - $.50 Pick 4, Total Wager - $27

8th. (4),6
9th. 2,6,(8)
10th. ALL
11th. (2)

Turfway Park - $1 Pick 4, Total Wager - $54

9th. 1,(2),5
10th. (1),3
11th. 6,7,(8)
12th. 3,(9),12

Turfway Park - $.50 Pick 4, Total Wager - $30

9th. 1,(2),5
10th. (1),3
11th. ALL
12th. (9)

Hopefully I hit one ticket!

If I get bounced on either ticket after the first leg, I'm gonna take my $1 tickets and just play the late Pick 3 at both tracks.
