Saratoga - Race 7

#8 Cold Hearted Babe (5/1 ml)

2yo firster for Chad Brown, who of course is on absolute fire with these types right now. This one worked heads-up from the gate with the recent winner Silver Medallion back on July 26, and it's also worth noting that Brown sent out a winning firster last weekend (Tiz Blessed, given out here) who had also worked previously with Silver Medallion. Also of interest, i happened to read the transcript of a live chat with Chad Brown on the NYRA website Thursday night, and someone asked him if he had any 2yo's that we should be watching for during the second half of the meet. He mentioned three, including Cold Hearted Babe. Should be live.

Went off @ 7/2, was in good position until they approached the turn, then she just stopped running. I can't post a winner on here.

Me too, lol. 4 of 6 for me!

The only good thing was that I happened to be in AC at the Borgata and I got two free drink vouchers with purchase of program.

I really can't catch a break this year.. I just played a pick three at Mountaineer and hit the first two legs, beating a 3/5 shot and was alive to an even money shot and a 5:2 second choice and missed. The horse that won was one of my "C" selections and the pick three paid $1100 for $1. The result was "C-A-C" and I only played A's and B's and one C with two A's to save money.

My investment was $28 and if I went A-B-C it woulda cost $60.

"saving" $32 cost me a grand. FML

Dont like the fave( you go west girl) in the Yaddo at Saratoga at all, he doesnt like the tight turns on the turf course, hes more at home at Belmont. Im going to use Merriweather Jessica, whos getting tested at the distance, and Our Golden Dream, picking up Gomez for the first time. Also interesting is Great Gracie Dane, only a 3yr old facing older horses, looks to be on the cheap side, but is by Royal Academy out of Nijinksky so the breeding is there for him to be ok.

Going to use them in doubles and pick 3's----

Good day of racing today! The Alabama should be a 2 horse race, and i like BL over DMC myself,i believe BL gets up in time.

Love the move back to dirt at Santa Anita. The great race place now postions itself to host the BC on a permanent basis.

I have been capping my butt off at Del Mar,and can say i have no clue how the track is going to play on a day to day basis, let alone race to race. I havent wagered here in over a week.

Woo hoo! Now if just Keeneland and Arlington would do the same, racing just might become playable again.

Agree for the most part, although I think Havre De Grace has an outside shot and if completely ignored in the wagering, I'm gonna bet small.

I love Santiva in the 8th.

Saratoga - Race 2

#8 Curlinello (3/1 ml)

Been waiting on this colt for a couple of weeks now. First-time starter for Pletcher outworked Hysterical Cat from the gate on July 26, then came back to work heads-up with Summer Laugh on Aug 1. Both of those horses then won by open lengths on the Aug 8 card. This colt also happens to be a full brother to Pleasant Strike, a graded stakes winner for Pletcher. Something else interesting, it looks like Pletcher has gone out of his way to run Curlinello at today's distance of 7 furlongs. He was entered last Friday in a two-turn grass race, but he was entered for Main Track Only, and those races are run @ 7 furlongs on the main track if they happen to get rained off the turf. Pletcher then passed on a couple of 6 furlong races during the interim, so he must feel this distance will be to Curlinello's liking. Expecting a strong run from this horse.

moral of the story, i won't be back in sean grahams and honestly if im betting in any shops it will be the 15minute walk to paddy powers from now on.

250k race today at Emerald Downs (Seattle) Biggest race of the season, In my heart im rooting for the long shot Wasserman (8 year old Emerald Downs Legend) . My mom's boyfriends horse has raced with a few of these, dont know much about the horses who have moved up for this race but expect Noosa Beach (3-1 5gate), Assesment (5-1 11gate) and Winning Machine (20-1 1 gate) to be the three strongest local horses in this race.

Noosa Beach is owned by the Harwoods who put horses in every race up here.

Jersey Town out of the (4th gate) will try to drive to the front early and hold it. Kinda have a soft spot for the jockey on this horse Krigger has ridden the two horses I have a special interest in a few times this year.

Most the handicappers have Teide Noosa Beach and Gallont Son in some order.

I have 3 fantasy drafts today So I am missing the races live <(

Saratoga Race #4 8/25/10

I almost NEVER look at the PP's for Saratoga, and why i did yesterday i have no idea. Then i see the #5 horse "Kid Curry"....My chin kinda dropped to the floor on that one. I am positive most people never heard of the real Kid Curry so i was shocked to see a horse named this. I then saw the trainers name, and didnt ring a bell to me,but his connections are out of a sire name Posse, and a dam name Cash Flow, bred in KY so maybe thats where they have heard the name before, and out of irony from the horses bloodlines gave it this name.

I am kin to the real Kid Curry, his daughter was my greatgrandmother (not a Curry's kid relative). I was never really allowed to be around that side of my family growing up,and the 1 time a summer i was tooken over there my greatgrandma in her late 80's,early 90's would always come out to the backyard and play horse,or 1 on 1 with us...I always thought that was funny, and she always had a pinch of snuff (copenhagen). She was from TN originaly and moved up to MI when the auto industry was booming.

Just thought i would share that, because i was kinda of shocked to see the name. Google Kid Curry for a good read, there is a wikpedia page on him....So i think i have a name play angle here....$100 to show at ML 15-1...just because.

I was told i was a "pu$%y" by my son before i placed the bet,so i ended up going $50 Win and no show, and here is why.....About 3 weeks back i get a text about 1:30am,my son was partying with friends having a bonfire, not driving anywhere,so i was all good with that. So i get the text and my son asks me which famous cowboy we were related to,because some of his buddys wanted to know because they had some famous relative also from that time...Yes a question asked at 1:30 am that just screams i have a buzz from my son,lol....Anyways....I text back to him Justin Bieber....I then get a text back saying rotflmao (which i now understand) saying his buddys are cracking up,and how the heck do i even know who that is.....Just my sense of humor,im not right!

So back to the bet,i tell him this morning im going $100 to show, and walking out the door now,had to take the kid and get jeans,he heads back to college Friday. He asks me what does show mean because he never heard me say that before, and i never ever bet that way,so i explained it to him,and he told me what i said, and not to forget my balls before i leave....I got a good lol out of that and said fine i will split the difference and go $50 to win....So i just got back from shopping at American Eagle and saw the results, got a good lol again, now the kids trying to angle shoot me for the profit of the race, and i keep the original wager.

Things like this happen to me often, and i just accept it anymore, and enjoy it. Why i looked at the PP's,saw that name, just freakishly odd,set of coincidences that often happen for me.

Do not like Get Stormy in todays 9th race at Saratoga. Before it rained last week speed was dominant on the Inner Turf course and get stormy beneifeited from that in his last start which he won facing very little pace pressure. He has never gone this long ( 1 1/8m) and Im going to try and beat him as the fave

I like Baletti here, his last race at monmouth was a throwout, his trainer Angel Penna said he was dehydrated in that last race.
Sudden War has been looking for a spot to run here at the Spa, having scratched twice in the past few weeks, but his best distance is 1 3/8m.
Whatthescript is intruguing but he his 0-the past 2 years, however he is a Grade 1 caliber horse who would appreciate a fast pace.
