Funny you say that.. if Woodard would have scratched one of his entry horses, I wouldve singled Lucky Express.

My notes say "Fresh n logical" for Lucky.

My concern is that Western Night duels him to death and Yuranga/Woodard pick up the pieces at a price.

I narrowed it down to those three.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

betting on horses is fun.

alas, i only do it 3-4 times a year. but it's pretty awesome sitting here drinking a beer and picking a random horse to win every half-hour or so..

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

Good luck Wyman, if you hit, i hit! (unless the #2 wins the last leg)

I liked the 2b a little bit but, he scratched. The plain #2 has been on the shelf awhile and would need to be very sharp to beat these.

But, posting it now. I got what I wanted with the Woodard entry in the first leg, he named Rechy as the rider of the 1A and Yuranga on the 1. Exactly what I wanted. The #1 "Between Us" is controlling speed, imo and Yuri holds them together wonderfully.

If we survive our single, we have lots of coverage.. *crossed fingers*

3) 1
4) 1-4-6-7-8-9
5) 2-3-5-6-8
6) 2-3-5-7-8
7) 3-7-8
8) 1-3-9-11

1800 combos x .25 = $450 invested

YTD (-3030)
I hate doing this because if it comes back to bite me, I'm gonna junkpunch myself but, I just watched the first race at Beulah and the track is not a slick slop surface, it is a plodding muddy surface. I do not think the Yuranga/Woodard runner in race 7 can close in it. So, I am taking him off the ticket and adding the Charles Lawson entry who are a combined 7 for 13 on wet tracks. And more importantly, stay close to pace.

Amended ticket:

3) 1
4) 1-4-6-7-8-9
5) 2-3-5-6-8
6) 2-3-5-7-8
7) 1-3-7
8) 1-3-9-11

1800 combos x .25 = $450 invested

YTD (-3030)

Looks like the front is continuing to stall, now rain right up till posttime with the heaviest rain around 5:00

Nice stretch drive.

One down, five to go.

EDIT: ugh, six deep to catch the even money chalk... better than losing, i suppose.

Two down, four to go.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

although ive done very well at the preakness and belmont, i suck at picking the derby the last 10 yrs. my picks for the derby so that every1 can fade

$10 ex box 1,2,4,20
$5 tri box 1,2,4,20
$2 superfecta box 1,2,4,20
$200 to win 1

total bet $120 +$120+$24+$200=$464

rain still up to posttime. posttime should be no rain. Heavier rain between 3:30-4:30

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

Favorites getting slammed at CD, speed is no factor, synthetic to dirt also not much of an issue. Really not going to be a clear cut favorite today. I hate the post position, but I am going to play the 20, paired with 11/1/4 in a bunch of exotics.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

As of now I'm on the 14/2-16 with a slew of crap underneath. Heard from a trustworthy insider that the 6 had some wierd undetected sickness that they treated, which is why he freaked last race. So there may be further upside there, just as a random ass tip.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

I'm on the #12

$10 Exacta Wheel

12, 16 / 3,6,10,17

$100 WPS #12

$380 total in wagers. I'm not betting a single race the rest of the day though.

Fade me. I've never cashed a derby ticket. :-)

Somehow, I got involved in some bets where I am going to be most profitable if Backtalk takes it down today.

Goooooo #18.

Me too! I am heavy on 18 and 15. Reeling from the loss in the pick 6 at Beulah though
