Sorry for being a nit but..

TP = Turfway Park (synth kentucky)

TuP = Turf Paradise (traditional dirt arizona)

Also, I'd like to add that I am going to play late pick fours exclusively at Hollywood Park. Not even going to look at TVG or HRTV until then.. Opening Day is April 21st.

so close... that's two 2nds in last two races. I like the way Honcho runs.

One of my faves is racing tomorrow. Trumpet Player Jay in the 7th at SA...

Hasn't raced since August, not sure how he'll do off the layoff, but I'm glad he's getting back in the mix.

I will try to keep this as brief as i can guys, but it is something i feel very passionate about. Some of you know my circumstances and how i got to be who i am,wont give the whole tl;dr,but i am a multiple cancer survivor. I posted about this time last year in regards to the Hillbilly Outfield Party (hillbillyoutfield.org).

The Hillbilly Outfield Party is a Kentucky Derby party held just outside Louisville Ky,each year and it benefits the Make A wish Foundation for various midwest states. It is several fantastic people who take this opportunity each year to really help out some children who need it the most,or to make a childs dream come true. To me, there is nothing more gratifying and rewarding than this.

Maybe some of the Horse Race Thread regs saw the story last Sunday evening on HRTV of a courageous Rachel Mattson, a very special young lady, who battled through aplastic anemia, and through the help of the Make A Wish Foundation helped Rachel get to fulfill a passion she had of horses. The horse (Rachel Alexandra) gave her an emotional uplift that along with her unique determination has Rachel now living the life of a normal young lady, that every child deserves.

This is who Make A Wish supports. I am not affiliated with either MAW,or The Hillbillyoutfield party,i do this each year in hopes that i can make even the smallest of difference in a childs life even anonymously.

I will be attending again this year, god willing,The Hillbillyoutfield Party. Last year was an absolute blast! It is such a fantastic time to be there, and there are several pictures on their site to show of the kind of time you will have,i am sure it is not what you think. Last year after several winning games of been bag,and barley pops,i got to give it all back playing a Ky version of What does Johnny Lodden think. Questions such as how many letters are in the alphabet? How many state capitals are there? LOL,just kidding obv, like giving the some fun grief when i can....Have to laugh to get through tough spots sometimes....My personal favorite is when my 3rd favorite child told me on a particular day that i felt horrible going through radiation, that i should of thought about that before i got cancer.....i really got a good laugh out of it,this is what i mean,it sounds harsh maybe, but you just have to laugh sometimes.

Anyways, the website gives so much more information than i can,and to get to the point,i really hope some fellow 2+2ers can make it this year. I will make myself available through PM if i can help with any additional ?s,and would enjoy meeting some fellow cappers. I do guarantee this...You will make friends there very easy, and want to come back year after year, and again the big picture is who it helps. Thank You everyone for your ear,and your time.

Pretty big day today.. I'll be playing the morning tracks.
My play of the day is sticky wicket in the 10th at Tampa. I played this one last time at 6-1 but she was completely stopped while making her move. The trouble lines make no mention of this...maybe I'm crazy but I've watched the replay 6 times and it was pretty obvious. Today same class, morning line of 8-1 and a jock change from L A Gonzalez to Rosemary which tells me they want this one.. Hope they don't bet her.
No promises but this one is real live. GL!

Aqueduct - Race 9

#2 Awesome Act (9/2)

Big fan of this horse. Shipped over from Europe to run close in the BC Juvenile Turf last year (finishing behind recent San Felipe second Interactif), then went back to Europe and was training @ Newmarket before shipping over for the Gotham and running a huge race right off the plane. That race marked his dirt debut, and he clearly relished the surface, moving smooth as glass from in-and-among horses to assume a striking position on the turn while still totally in hand. At that point Leparoux took a very confident look back, because he clearly knew that he had the leaders beaten at that point. A moment or two later he shook the reins at this horse, and he just bounded into the clear to win very easily. Finished very strongly, and and should appreciate the stretchout to 1 1/8 miles here, because he's bred top-and-bottom to run long, with BC Classic winner Awesome Again on the top side and the bottom side consisting of the Arc winner Bago. Could even improve today, as this marks his only second start of the year, and rather than traveling back to Europe again, he's remained in New York to train towards this race (and eventually the Derby). He did miss a scheduled workout on Wednesday due to the wet weather, but it was just a 3 furlong blowout, and they said beforehand that they could just gallop him into the race no problem if he happened to miss the drill. That's really my only concern here, as i think this guy represents a huge threat to the heavy favorite Eskendereya today, and obviously the difference in odds will be substantial. Expecting a solid effort from this colt, at an overlaid price.

Discreet, and others, is the main track at Aqueduct as ridiculously speed-favoring as it has looked today?

On big days it often is.
Awesome act is an awful play at 2-1.
I'm live a bunch of times to the 3 and 4 in the pick 4.
My Tampa horse opened at 4-1. Ugh

In which case I'll play the 1 entry in the Carter, with an exacta saver with Munnings on top.

Awesome Act lost all chance with a stumble at the start, then Leporeaux proceeded to strangle the life out of the horse. God I hate when jocks do that ****. Not that it mattered anyway because Eskendereya was just freakish today.

WTF GoGo?? Horrible ride by my favorite jockey....What did you think Espinoza was going to do at the far turn? Hmmm same thing EVERY jockey does at that spot with someone trying to squeez thru......Go back a few weeks and see apprentice jockey Terry Kaplan's 1st win at SA.....He tried the same thing at the far turn,as an inexperienced jockey would, and D.Sorensan slammed the door on him just like Vic did today to GoGo....Difference is Kaplan was able to recover and win......Honestly just a pathetic job by GoGo....still my fav jockey, just NOT what an elite jockey is suppose to do.

I thought Awesome Act looked extremely strong approaching the turn, very much like last time, but he just stopped running. Not sure what happened, but no doubt Eskendereya looked fantastic.

Sidney's Candy looked great once again, but he's enjoyed a soft early lead in both the San Felipe and Santa Anita Derby. Gonna be hard to evaluate that guy on Derby Day, especially with the added unknown factor of dirt mixed in. But he has shown the ability to rate, and he's already proven himself capable of finishing strong even after fast early fractions (which is why i liked him in the first place).

Also, i've gotta think that Lookin At Lucky's price in the Derby just soared. Haven't gotten a real good look at his trip yet (just the inquiry shots), as i was focused in on Sidney's Candy during the race, but if he had a legitimate excuse today then he'll probably offer some good value.

Speaking of which, nice run by the longshot Setsuko, who figures to really enjoy the Derby distance (he just made the race as far as i can tell; he had to run at least second to get the earnings and he did). Problem is, he doesn't have much tactical speed at all, and he's liable to get buried in that 20-horse cavalry charge. Think he might pose a threat if he can manage to get out into the open and stretch his legs, but it might be too little too late. Seems to be sort of a habit with him already, even in the smaller fields. Figures to be a very big price though; worth keeping tabs on.

Caracortado had a nice trip going yesterday, but got caught behind that mess with Gomez and Espinoza. I thought it was a sneaky good effort to get 4th place after that, but there's very little chance he's going to get to the KD now...

There goes one of my futures... oh well.

I'll be looking to play Caracortado whenever else he races. Just like the way the horse runs.

It is nice when Bob Baffert says 30 minutes later exactly what i said. I was just so pist off yesterday with that ride by GoGo. BB telling GoGo he was going to rent him the Jerry Bailey dvds again was awesome, like referencing him to an apprentice jockey like i did.

Sydneys Candy still is kinda a mystery to me...His 2nd race back i was on Caracortado, and after the opening 1/4 i said its over they wont catch him....said the same yesterday with a few why the f's does no one pressure this horse....Im just not sure yet on this horse,i just dont feel it.

The blessing in disguise here, for myself anyways,is hopefully the huge amount of casual money that comes in for the KY Derby only sees the 3rd place finish in the running lines, and i can get a price (5-1 or higher) Derby day on him.

Eskendereya why looking very nice in the Wood, had no competition and should of looked like he did yesterday. My virtual stable notes arent changed by that Grade 1 workout,my notes said for the Florida Derby were that he killed the field in Big Brown or Barbaro style. If this horse can stay out of traffic and get a clean line outside,it may be all over in the KY Derby same fashion as the Florida Derby.

Something tells me LAL and Eskendereya will head each other in the KY Derby.

I'm grunching a bit (it's a long thread), but I've been dabbling in horse betting a bit and noticed 5Dimes gives 10% extra payout on WIN and exotic bets. Is there any reason not to bet with them for Pick 4s and less? It seems like a pretty automatic call unless other sites are also giving bonuses.

Also, is there some mailing list or something to get on to be notified of large carryovers?

KUJustin Picking an offshore is your own preference,i dont advocate it,but to each their own. As for the carryovers i usually just know because i follow horses so close, but if you have a virtual stable through equibase there is an option to send you notices of carryovers at different tracks etc....All tracks usually have their own website, and if there is a carryover it is usually posted on the front page. I also believe DRF offers similar. If you are from KY,i hope to see you at this years hillbilly outfield party, hope i helped.

HOncho agreed I was wrong and i typed it on the sports thread somewhere not sure on the horse thread and i don't care what you think cause of a race where she bet pigs that is great. She is fabulous horse that beat pigs and that is all there is to it. As for your kentucky derby reading, LOL!! horrific and one loss yes minust he four winners in a row i gave that equals plus three. Munnings on a saver do you know how much money i won on that race more than you have lost in your life which is a ton. try buying the rags and learning numbers. MUnnings had no shot easiest exacta box inthe history of horse racing plus had the double with esky what a value. NOW DO YOU SEE THE ODDS FOR THE OAKS or are you just a total douche?

Also if you're gonna redboard, try to not make it one hudge run on blurb. kthx!
