I like Tacitus today in the travers. The way he ran in the Jim dandy was super impressive especially going down to knees at the start. Think Tacitus wins with a clean trip and a little pace.

However I feel 2 chad browns could win and mucho gusto was super impressive in the Haskell. Great betting race. It’s honesty too bad more derby horses didn’t show up. I think it’s kinda pathetic maximum security didn’t show up to put his name out there as the top 3 year old. Can only run in travers 1 time and I feel it can make a horses legacy winning it. If max was my horse, 100% would be running in derby if he was 90+ %. I think it’s going to be much easier to win a travers vs the breeders cup classic.

Also finally, sigh mitole wins today off the dead Saratoga rail. Had a little coin on mitole... had him singled in p3s and p4s and a win bet but had heaps on him on dandy day and the horse caused me to have my biggest losing day in horse racing. Sigh I felt 4/5 on him today was money printing against a slightly weaker field off the rail. Just my thoughts. Think this horse will crush in breeders cup with solid post draw and right field.

Tacitus no more excuses all the talent none of the head, common among Tapit's but the winner really stepped his game up the last 2.

MB saved my azz on the day and just what i have always wrote about her and respect is that effort and heart and will to win, some just have that "it" factor and she is one of them. Just a flat out exciting race! Fantastic race horse and my favorite running the last few years.

Now getting my cok caught in my zipper again with Tacitus myself,i will miss him come BCC time when he goes off a forgotten 6-1 and puts it all together.

The ride on Tacitus was a little iffy I felt. I don’t think he needed to be forwardly placed but I can’t question it really. I went either 5/6 or 4/5 in the pick 5/6 lol which is quite standard but it was a chalky day mainly. Had Tacitus as a single in a cheap p4 play also that didn’t get there.

I can’t wait to see the bc Classic this year. I’m still not sure about max security. He wins that race/ finishes top 3 and ahead of other 3 year olds and he probably is best horse (3year old this year).

Just reading a funny article on DRF about Del Mar and their meet. Overall handle was down 11% and on track attendance was down 14% after growth in both the past 2 years BUT they said was a "successful" meet because they had no race day equine deaths. Now i know i saw where on 3 seperate days on ESPN front reporting of training deaths at Del Mar believe 1st was a BB that got loose and ran head on with another. Point is article wrote to flatter that point which in this time i get it BUT how many more "successful" meets can Del Mar afford to have?

Del Mar should be fine. I feel it’s more important for the sport of horse racing that no deaths occur vs the handle increasing for Del Mar. More Santa Anita like meets with many deaths could really kill the sport.

So much money is bet... that I feel what 11% bet in money down doesn’t mean a whole lot. The take out on horse racing is insane and they are just money printing each day.

Btw what’s going on with Todd Pletcher? He got smashed by Chad Brown in the trainer standings. I mean he still has some great horses but it seems like Todd is going down hill while chad brown is on the improve. I just find it kinda crazy Todd isn’t able to keep the Nyra meet closer bc he should be getting a lot of solid horses based on his past training history.

Looking forward to Omaha beach coming back. Really think he could be best 3 year old but not sure he’s going to be able to threaten later this year off a long layoff. I’m probably done wagering this fall until the breeders cup.

TP has had barn issues from what i have read and heard spoken softly. As for Del Mar i never watched one race or SA the whole state of California is off my radar. Even before the Stronach drama i wrote a couple years prior the product was not as good anymore. SA after the talent defections etc is not even Oaklawn hell they have a sportsbook now and Hammer. Read this book back first SA goes away do not see it going any other way.

BC should be interesting and not for the right reasons this year, and a horse goes down you will see PETA line up on track to form a human chain because their such enlightened people. Recipe for straight up dumb at this years BC hope like hell it goes off without any issues.

JK if they were printing $$ there would be no need for racinos or historical wagering machines at most tracks now. They all want slot $$ because horse racing can not support itself

Do i know for a fact BB needled Justify, nope! None of us do BUT what i do know for fact as many do is BB micro manages his stars especially when it comes to feed and on air voices tell you the same his horses do not graze on the land and if the feed was contaminated i mean if we playing poker i shove,i think its bs and convenient built in excuse we all have heard over and over about the feed the feed was bad...please. Then because of BB's influence and contacts not a word gets to anyone until now.

Love the horses and love the sport, the people are completely F'd who think they run and or protect this sport. From the hard working backside to the grounds people to the gate worker it only takes one a-hole or BB in this case and ALL their hard work and integrity is forgotten or worse.

Really like Covfefe and the rail in sprint Joel gets a clean break and it is all she wrote imo horse has really come into her own.

Give me Bisou in Distaff freaking love MB all heart and class always never talking me off her for a thing.

Give me COH running right on by backstretch to take BCC from the ouside

Mand Payout was moved also to Big A Friday card for the Empire 6

Nice to see some BC thoughts! Think I like mitole a lot. Will prolly be using sistercharlie, mitole, and midnight bisou as singles but will prolly try to throw in some bigger #s.

Could see midnight bisou losing but unlikely. Sadly I like chalk. Would include bricks and mortar as another horse I like. Think the stretch out could be rough for him especially against euros. I think sistercharlie is my favorite single for the week however I still need to see the brisney pps before any real thoughts on plays.

Meh I think I like the US horses too much in the longer turf races. Prolly going to get owned by Euros but kinda like the outside horse ridden by Flavian prat at a price (Dan blacker trained). Hard to compare euros and us on turf at a distance. Arizona probably most likely to win but so hard to say. Races are super wide open.

I will never understand this sport. Storm the court winning the BC juvenile is very unexpected. Had a bit on eight rings and shocked he couldn’t put away storm the court.

Btw Flavian prat is someone I feel people should look at. I know on this forum people touted florent geroux in the past. Feel prat is one of the best jockeys not that they make a big deal in racing but feel he has been really hot in Cali this past summer.

Tomorrow: meh I like mitole, sistercharlie, etc.... seems kinda stupid to play too much chalk in these great races though. I feel midnight bisou could be beat in a tough field. Most of the horseracing podcasts, etc I follow seem to love bisou but I feel she could lose. Hard to say though. Seems like SA speed is holding on well even though the track isn’t super fast like in the past. Even the turf races today.... horses I’ve played have been solid closers and they have trouble closing going so wide in these 10-14 horse fields on final turn.

Sistercharlie is prolly my favorite horse tomorrow. Will be keying here Ben though she could lose if pace isn’t solid in race. Kinda irritated Thais got scratched out of that race (chad brown rabbit for sistercharlie).

Meh not a fan of how the tracks are playing. Turf seems to favor early speed/ dirt doesn’t seem fair and also seems to favor early speed. Heavier track seems to really kill any closing.

Meh bummed to see sistercharlie lose. Hmm like mitole/ Shancelot in sprint and big fan of got stormy/top euro in the mile. Classic I like vino rosso however maybe war of will holds lead all the way with blinkers. In classic I like vino/ wow/ McKinzie.

Also the turf main race, I like the top 2 euros and bricks and mortar. If anyone else wins I’ll be shocked but maybe a fast American holds the leads. Gl everyone.

Well done vino rosso! Instead of a -800 day, maybe had a -50 day which we will take. Meh, I played hard against uni in p4s (played top euro and got stormy) which was bad idea.

Saver bets on vino saved my day.

I wonder if the owners/ trainer of MS are kicking themselves. I feel ms would have had great shot to win the classic on a tiring speed favoring track. Would love to what others think but I think they goofed on the track. No real closers had any shot on the dirt. Coh/ Yoshida/ mid night bisou all had almost no shot at winning.

I feel SA goofed on the track and really made it too safe. Even the turf course didn’t seem fair and favored early speed. Meh bring the breeders cup to Saratoga (lol idea with weather), or back easy to Churchill/ Keeneland. I feel it was a terrible idea to keep the breeders cup out west at Santa Anita. They should have at least changed to Del Mar. it was quite comical how nbc tried to say how safe horse racing is or at least new pre conditions to make it safer. Great safe weekend until Mongolian groom gets injured in the classic. I love horseracing and the gambling aspect of the sport however I could see it going downhill if we get another bad run of Santa Anita like bad luck with a lot of deaths in a tracks season. I find it kinda comical when people get crazy (peta types) over a small amount of deaths that are prolly due odd weather conditions (wet beginning of the year at SA). Horse racing is all about $$$ and people in the buzz don’t care. If not for horse racing.... let’s be honest these horses wouldn’t even be around. Just my thoughts.

Will be ready for the kd preps in the coming months. Thought Omaha beach got
A bad run today and was class of that race even though he got
Off to a bad Start. SA was terrible this weekend. A bad start and a horse was done with not shot (even if pace was quick). I was also bummed sistercharlie couldn’t get a W. Flavien prat gave vasilika a great ride to be closer to the pace (even though horse was racing shorter so prolly a little pacier).

Finalled I felt the sprint showed how unfair the track was. Running 1/4 under 22 shows something was up the track. Closers had no shot even though the speed was classy. Imperial hint would have had great shot to win if I’m the race.

Anyone play the pick 6 mandatory payout at Santa Anita today? I actually hit it on 2 .20 tickets for 2.2k!!! Finally hit a bigger payout.

The bad beat of the story was I had the horse that finished 2nd in last racdne which was going to pay 5.5k but I won’t complain!

nice score jkp! always nice to hit those mandatories knowing you got full value.

separately, despite just winning the last at Del Mar, i'd like to suggest that mike smith is the most overrated jockey of all time.

i don't know the history of horse racing much, but this guy has gotten to ride the cream of the crop for 10+ years and has managed like 25-30 W% at best. about 80% of his rides end with his horse a) having gone 4-5w the whole way round, b) his horse still having about 3 gallons left in the tank crossing the finish line

sure, when he hits the wire just in time he looks like the genius of a generation, but that's like 1 out of 20 times and he's riding the best horse a good amount of the time. just wasting prime talent.

anyway i see he thanks god every other second so i'm gonna start doing that so i get that luck

What are thoughts here on mandatory pick 6 payouts? I played 3 tickets for a total of 500ish+ dollars yesterday for Gulfstream park west and went 5/6 on my biggest ticket (sadly 333 cost).

Meh my capping was solid however my 2 tickets with a strong single ended up losers when the single didn’t win. I capped the race I lost on the big ticket correctly on my losing tickets so I guess my capping was ok but throuhjranon taking shots for these bigger pools? It ended up paying like 4761. Just wondering if it’s stupid to punt hard for these pools? I like to play .20cent pick 6s bc it’s affordable and I feel my capping is halfway solid on tracks like gpw where chalk tends to win. Thanks for thoughts.

A 500 dollar loss is a big losing day for me. I tend to play single races with win/place bets in the range of 5-20 dollars. I’m prolly down 2-3k for year which is lol bad but I also wager a lot. Thanks for thoughts. I feel I need to calm down with the horse betting bc it’s a massive leak and I prolly should stick to only big days (Kentucky derby, BC, etc).

Also in race I lost, inquiry occurred where I had the 2nd place horse which was similar odds to actually winner (winner was 6.50 and I had horse that finished 2nd at 6.40). It was a sweat bc it looked like winner could be taken down small % of time bc he kinda impeded a runner on final turn.

JK the mand days are always solid plays and that is the hardest thing about horse racing you do not really know IF the card has value until you cap the card and depending what your eye tells you after...and of course horse players we can damn near be talked into anything

Not sure what happened to the Highschool Football Thread i hit it pretty good last year and team i have info on is a -3.5 fav ROT 12 on 5D and i thought going in it would be +6.5. Davison has size up front on the O line and a solid decison maker at QB with 2 main play makers at WR and RB. Playing solid all at the right time and making it to the State Finals for its first time in school history.

Brighton (Drew Henson went here) ROT 11 i thought would be favored after taking out Belleville last week which i thought was team to beat in tourney. They are sililar to Davison playing best ball right time and just seem to find a way to win.

2 very similar solid teams going at it tomorrow and should be a great Div 1 Finals at Ford Field. Brighton 28 Davison 24 i just think i take the 3.5 and Brighton here BUT would be happy to lose this bet knowing Davison team well.
