Can this be calculated? I have been unable to find the totals for the exacta and trifecta pools online.

derby exacta & tri pools are crazy liquid, both probaby $10mil+ of course it woud've paid a bit less by definition (parimutuel) but would've still been in that ballpark.

Betfair has an NJ affiliate that has fixed odds wagers, although the bigger circuits (NYRA, SoCal) aren't on the platform.

Did you guys watch the Belmont oaks? I wasn’t a fan of what was done with Newspaperofrecord. No big deal for me bc I played against the horse as a favorite bc I didn’t like the horses form so far this year especially with the added distance for a front runner on turf which I’m not a fan of.

Meh, I don’t like how they tried to rate Newspaperofrecord. Meh i feel you try that out in training against other horses to see if it’s possible but wow. I feel if they don’t rate the horse, has chance for too 3 finish. Idk why you would rate a horse with early speed and inside post draw to save ground. Seems boneheaded but just my thoughts. Rating the horse just led to jock fighting horse a while and horse ends up empty. Atleast get to the lead and try to slow down a little but idk I’m just a casual fan.

Any thoughts on the Diana stakes at Saratoga Saturday? I really like rushing fall with sistercharlie coming off a super long layoff. Think this is a great spot to play against most likely favorite. However not a real fan of the pace scenario + distance for rushing fall. I’ll prolly play a semi big win/place bet on rushing fall but wanna Hear thoughts?

For p4 and p5, I’m thinking of using rushing fall/ homerique/ and sistercharlie for my plays.

Saratoga trip report- yikes I was not confident in my capping at all on Saturdays toga card however broke even betting at the track. Sadly went 3/4 in the pick 4 and 4/5 for the Delaware/ toga pick 5 as my single in the 2nd to last race didn’t chalk it up and win.

Played a 30-30 win place bet on rushing fall and meh he did well but couldn’t choke the classy sistercharlie. I’m shocked sistercharlie ran so well off the super long layoff. Meh whenever I bet horses off layoffs at short prices, I lose so I was kinda annoyed by result of race.

So on pick 4s and 5s.... is it stupid to go deeper on tickets if my ticket is going to cost 100-200 dollars. My general strat is to find a single and a race I can narrow down to a few horses. I like to keep my tickets cheap 40-80 dollars at a max normally. Should I just bite bullet and go super deep in 2 legs from now on? I always feel I get close like 3/4 in pick 4s but find a way to bust one leg. I’m thinking I should go deeper in my p4s or just quit these plays as I’ve prolly gotten crushed long run playing them as my scores tend to be small as I play chalky singles generally.

I feel with p4s and p5s, you obv need some big prices if you want a ticket that pays something worth playing. I feel I should spread more for a bigger priced ticket and just play less p4s but would like to hear thoughts. I find hitting a solid paying pick 4 on a cheap ticket (say 20-50 is almost impossible).

Maybe like in Australia they know what all the trainers are using but still waiting for an irrefutable test.

JV still had to be upset from his ride on Touriga where somehow he got his horse into trouble on the backside and had to check then had all sorts of horse left and run and decided to waterhead ahead on the rail and with the power of Moses he thought he would part a path to victory BUT in reality JV you got your horse into trouble in a THREE horse feld on your own,thats horrible....Then you Double Down on Dumb and try the same stubborn chit in the Haskell and AGAIN like a waterhead thought you owned the rail when you shot for a spot that was closing before you moved so not only did you give a horse chit ride you cried like a bytch on National Television still azz hurt from the ride prior as well. MS is winner! Pays to be a winner! JV needs to regroup rexamine and be honest with himself and performance,MS did not survive an Inquiry he won the damn race on the square.

I read an article today i will include that was very well done and hit home with me this morning. Only was there 1 time at MPM usually was just something i saw out of the corner of my eye in passing on the way to the Casino to play poker. Family has a lot of property in this area and decided i would go along one day to check it out. This is maybe my 2nd full year capping horses and i was in love with SA and everything about it so when i saw MPM all i saw was hay and a tractor and the same dude doing every damn thing (Scott C) and thought what the hell did i agree to today. Well in my arrogance,maybe not right word but feels right,i just could not enjoy myself because it was not SA and missed out on what i was doing to begin with which was spending a day with family.

This is what my family did in the summer for fun and where,and i know how much they miss that come summer time and i miss it for them.

Have a trip report for this thread. Went to Saratoga today. Had mitole for big bets for me for winning and massive in my single 4. Went 3/4 in my deep tickets but still shocked mitole didn’t win. For the lols had my biggest losing day betting horses and feel kinda derby. Should have had some back up hedging but yea.!
