Thanks for letting me know, but still thats sad ^^

Just betting on the big races in Amerika, so I guess I will post on the weekend for CD and Del Mar then.

Then lets talk not picks, but strategy.

How do you picks your horses to bet on?
And do you bet singles, or rather multipliers or trifecta?

Okay, as there is no one playing UK/Ire than me, I round up the week with the results and stop posting the picks

Results:
31 bets, 13 Wins, 11 Places +21,44points. Solid, but not stellar.

Lots of left turns at earlier post today and a free DRF tournament for i guess vegans like myself always fun having a vegan over on holidays so family does their own thing. Road work in early then get 3 to fade up somewhere or everywhere depending my ambition.

MM solid at CHD prickly on prices

Do NOT stop posting your picks.

Even if they are UK/Ire horses, your insights on what you are looking for are valuable to all here. Thoroughbreds are thoroughbreds. It is valuable to know that "I like Morrigan in the fourth race here because she is coming off of a layoff and her trainer typically drops in class in this situation." as an example.

Post away.

Alright

But lets start with sth US today - Hoppertunity over Diversify in the Clark Handicap -

Better Draw, so I hope for a good, relaxed place in the eraly race just of the leader, while Diversify need to break as alertly as the last time to grab an uncontested lead.

Hoppertunity ran good on his previous visits to the track, while Diversify seems to love Belmont. Diversify looked not as impressive in the Jockey Club as did the last years winner AND Hoppertunity very rarely runs a bad race and came on big time from his first run in the season last year.

MadT the man chose himself to say he was not going to post UK/IRE i after seeing his post elsewhere was letting him know his audience and maybe his efforts may hit a larger target than us. May be worth to start a seperate UK/IRE/AUS/HK thread because for the most part we are ALL American players itt. Needing a story or reasoning behind someones plays drives me insane because it is like having the pp's and work i just did read back to me BUT i know some in the thread enjoy that. I know i am still enjoying EddyB's euro invaders breakdown for BC

Hate not getting picks up when i say but a family member passed and not a tremendous shock but never really prepared ya know. Will try for tomorrow to get us 2 dollars lighter 2 minutes later somewhere.

Reason i got damn flu or whatever tried to whoop my azz was going to my high school football playoff game in the rain for their 2nd rd and believe it is rot 711 on 5d Clarkston vs West Bloomfield Div 1 Final. Going to be a damn good one. QB for WB is no joke and they play up tempo and took it to us week 4 but Clarkston has been dominate on Oline and running game and could and should try to limit the touches their QB gets for their best chance to win. Will be a good competitive game.

Forget what race yesterday at Aqueduct hope someone else caught it damn horse thought he was a surf board came out gate went to knees 2x's and finished up reasonably well considering... it was a weird scene.

Oh, don't worry about reach - I am german and I have a german blog, if you type in pferdewetten in google, its the fith or fouth hit in the list - just after the two biggest bookies and sometimes wettstar, the biggest Tote bookie

So, no need to care about reach here. I am here because I read about poker, because I suck at it, so why not add sth to the forum I actually know sth about?

For today:

Cue Card in the Group 1 Betfair Chase (Haydock / 15:00)

Ideal conditions, heavy going, long race, and he should be fit after the first race in the season, where he ran great but fell. Was up quickly and Bristol De Mai looked very laboured winning the race Cue Card fell in. He is way ahead of the field on his best form

Others to note:
13:45:00 GowranPark Roja Dove
12:00:00 Huntingdon Silver Kayf
13:15:00 Haydock Vintage Clouds
12:10:00 Haydock Midnight Shadow

Breeders Cup Turf post parade conversation; "jesus christ" "who the #1?" "yeah, you just don't see horses looking like that on a weekday at Belmont" "who is it?" "German, or no trained by that Andre. He who won a stakes at Belmont" "Talismanic? nice price." "Do we have any money left?" "Nope".

Del Mar - Matriarch Stakes

Cambodia after her Breeders Cup Show, followed by Off Limits and Hawksmoor / or Thundering Sky

A Mile is a bit short for Cambodia AND Hawskmoor, and the latter has competition for the lead, BUT Kitten's Roar had a very busy spell lately, is a bit sketchy formwise and the rest of the field is not my taste - except from Thundering Sky who should improve from the training at this track.

Well, Off Limits did the job and collared in Hawksmoor, just Cambodia misses so I missed the Trifecta.

My Picks for today in UK/IRE

14:30:00 Kempton Favorito Bucks
12:50:00 Kempton Highway One O One
14:45:00 Ludlow Number One London
15:05:00 Kempton Kings Temptation
15:35:00 Kempton Broughtons Rhythm
13:40:00 Ludlow Robin The Raven
14:00:00 Kempton Jers Girl
14:45:00 Ludlow Galactic Power

Playing a bit more, because the odds are quite big. If yoz want to know why I play a certain Pick - just let me know. Explaining all of them is a bit much to do

Not the best day. It was raining down on both tracks. so its a razor thin profit for today.

How dou you guys stake? Thats a question I am very interested in. Do you you a staking plan, or just a level bet?
HORSE RACING THREAD Quote
11-27-2017 , 08:44 PM
Stake? I will have to win a bet first, then I'll have a steak, haven't planned that far. Buy more PP's I guess. What's a level bet? Is that like when your sober?
HORSE RACING THREAD Quote
11-28-2017 , 07:57 AM
well.... joking, right? ^^

Well, level stakes are always the same bet size - 1$ or 2% of the bankroll etc.

I use a kind of progressive staking plan, where I have the average winning odds of my selections as target profit and raise the betsize if I miss a bet.

It works fine even more so if I manage to stop at the fist winner ;D I always wanted to play a year like that and just stop the betting at the first winner a day, so I have a nice 3% profit every betting day - never had the discipline, although my statistics say it would be a nice run.

I knew a girl like that once, same thing every time. She was consistent I'll give her that. Dance Instructor worked nights tho. Star I think was her name.
I'd say my betting strategy is more like a Bass fishing show. Small boat, Giant Motor, Drive real real fast across the lake. Stop, cast everywhere and when you do hook one, lots of yeehaws and hell yeahs. Then repeat.
Level betting is for blackjack otherwise you might get tackled.

Krellshand yeah joking during the slow racing season. How does race wagering work in Germany? Pari-Mutuel?
Your Matriarch analysis was decent but Cambodia was well, Class at the mile played big with those fillies. I singled Hawksmoor in the pick 6 cause I'm smart that way.
I'm having a couple custom black ink Stamps made for Christmas. One says Chad Brown and the other says Paid, so I can stamp my PP's.

What do you think of the new wagers at SA this year prickly? Like the additions myself i also would like the traditional PK6 brought back but each their own on that. Watched a little GP and AQU today and i just have been more focused this way then out west past year.

Hadn't seen what's new? Yeah Jackpot schmackpot. Speaking of jackpot, saw that GGate had a rare pick 5 carry for a decent amount the other day. Was tempted for a minute but didn't participate on principle.

Here is the article shows new wagers etc...Takeout if correct is 23% on new late PK5 so i will pass that is too high can price in 10% cheaper elsewhere and will. Just do not look much towards west coast these additions do not help turn my head.
