I am of the opinion today that if Nyquist does not get position into the 1st turn he may be up against it today. The wet track here looks by my eye more to play as a SA wet track as compared to a GP wet main.

Race #3 looks like riders are making a distinct effort to keep their horses off the rail and the standing water which i can see by my eye and saw how the jock swung the #9 and winner there out 3 paths to avoid just that and the middle of the track had the best foot it appears. Think Exaggerator has a big shot today if this track plays as i think it may.

Feel his post is perfect for a fast to good track but who knows now. Think exagerstor will love the track. Strandivari, somebody must know something. Love the connections on him but would have loved to see him beat real competition in graded stakes. I think the public will hammer nyquist obv especially when he shows 5/2 on the board.

I'd favor exaggerator over Stradivari if you wanna take a shot against nyquist but hard to tell how good strandavari is. Gl everyone. I got crushed on derby day so taking it off. Waiting till saratoga meet to start. Like Mohaymen possibly in travers. Felt he got a crappy trip in derby and will do well with rest and more training possibly.

Florent geroux on laoban. Almost wanna toss a small bet on him to win. Like laoban but don't think he gets distance.

Going big on Nyqist with the good odds, using the big 3 in all exotics and top of supers.

Thanks, I'm going to check it out. I'm always short on time. Yesterday I was at work when the race went off. I would probably have gotten a little more on MA if I had been around.

Good luck everybody today in the slop.

Bad strategy they had for Nyquist. Soon as he went out that fast knew it was over.

Jock should have rated nyquist. Pace was way too quick. Also think the slop was prolly best handled by exagerator. Think the fact exaggerator wasnt so far back like kderby was huge too.

I'm happy. I didn't want to see a triple crown the year after American pharoah. Would have slightly tainted ap's I believe.

Nyquist handed a perfect trip and decides to make it as bad as possible for some unknown reason.

Everyone blames the jock, but that wasn't the worst ride. Opening quarter was similar to the Derby, there was supposed to be a lot of pace and Nyquist definitely didn't want to end up with mud in his face. The half mile was reasonable. Down the stretch that was an observant move by the jock, the center of the track had been much faster than the rail all day.

Exaggerator is just a freak of a horse that really loves the mud. Because of that he was able to save ground on the rail where most other horses would have tired.

I have questioned Nyquist's ability to get distances. The Derby was truly an impressive race for him to be able to stay on those fractions early and then hold on at the end.

Maybe though it was Exaggerator that ran a bad race in the Derby staying too far back. Desormeaux had him noticeably more forwardly placed in the Preakness. While we all would have loved another triple crown shot. It may be that mistake that costs us another triple crown if Exaggerator wins the Belmont.

Songbirds trainer wants to try the boys .....

The June 18 Summertime Oaks (gr. II) at Santa Anita is the hopeful target for Songbird's return. After that, Porter said, "There's a lot of good races on the East Coast.

"The Summertime isn't a big race, but it's the first thing we can get that she might be ready for," Porter said. "After this (morning), she looks like she's going to be ready for it. We just want to get her running, and then we're going to take her east.

"I'm more conservative with this horse because she's so good. I want to run her against the boys at the right time. I want to see her run against the best girls first, and we'll have plenty of time to run against the boys if she stays sound. I wouldn't mind running against the boys as a 4-year-old, and I might run her as a 5-year-old. That's why I'm in it, for the fun of running really good horses."

Hmm idk about that. Wide trip going into the first turn. What 3-4 speed horses that were pretty meh. Rate behind them and make a move before exaggerator on final turn seems like best ride to me. I'm sure connections didn't tell him to rate though. I do think if the track was fast and dry, would have more likely been a nyquist win and exaggerator seems to love slop. To say the half mile wasn't fast is a little crazy. Anything under 47 is fast for a route.

Looking at the payouts for multi race bets on DRF and I'm curious how the syntax works. For example, today at Arlington, the payout for the pick 4 on DRF is 5,8-3-1,4,8,11,13-1,7,9 paid 45.40. The winners of the 4 races were 5/3/8/9. I was thinking that the horses that aren't winners were possible scratches that were moved to the favorite, but it seems like some of them ran. What's going on here?
