I like Mohaymen saturday. Just hope
There is some early speed in the race other than Nyquist. Any thoughts what odds they go off as? I'd say Mohaymen 2-1, and nyquist 3-1? Thoughts.

Not saying your odds are wrong but if i am making the line i have Nyquist as fav even in Florida because Nyquist has proven he can ship and win and has already a GR1 on his resume would be my opinion.

For Saturday I'd say Mohaymen 4-5 and Nyquist 6-5, giving Mohaymen an edge with having the GP 'home field' advantage.

I am also looking at betting both of them in the KD futures market before the weekend with Mohaymen currently at 5-1 and Nyquist at 10-1. These 2 horses are the best of the bunch with only 5 weeks to go so I am paid off at either 5-2 or 5-1, both decent prices.

GL to all on your selections.

For being undefeated winning the BC juvy Nyquist seems to not get the respect he deserves.

Post positions just came out. Just checked the weather for saturday and it says 80 but chance of rain. Ugh. Not good for nyquist. He could of had that weather at home. It rained out here last 2days. A fast hard dirt track is his game. Not making excuesses already just stating the obvious. Mix that in with a deeper track at gulfstream than santa anita and at a disadvantage. I will say this though. To me this is the kentucky derby to paul reddam. Winners share of the million is what 600k. Plus million dollar bonus and u got 1.6 million if he wins paying more than the derby. I feel this horse have maybe 10% chance tops at triple crown and hes already won the derby so money is number 2after horses saftey so i think this one means the most. He also has a filly by uncle mo Gomo going a race or 2before so i think all in on saturday for reddam oneil and mario g on saturday but if it rains im pulling half my bets and spreading more on pick 4.

I think my play on Saturday will be a Moheyman/Nyquist up top overall/mostly all but these 2. My gut is that they don't finish 1-2 and that one of them yields to the other. Saving something for the KY derby, Nyquist stretching out, wet/deeper track, realizing you're not top dog, all decent scenarios I think for 1 of them to not finish in the top 2.

Back from a long layoff guys (18 month vaction in Club Fed), however I have been known to fire strongly off the layoff in the past. My handicapping skills are sharp after having nothing to do all day but read. (the old joke goes, theres 2 things to do when your locked up, play cards or lift weights. Me, well I read )

Anyway looking to get back in action this Saturday focusing on the gulstream card which looks stacked from top to bottom. The only race I have looked at as of yet is the big one the Fla Derby. IMO the horse to beat is Mohaymen. Even tho Nyquist has the faster figs and edge in experience, it seems that Mohyanmen is the horse for the course, and at GP having experience over that course is kinda a big deal. I think hes coming into his own and is set to break the 100 Beyer figure that has alluded him so far. Nyquist hasnt looked great going longer distances, he almost got caught at the wire in his race at 1 1/16, combine that with his shippiing across the country leaves him a little vulernable as the most likely favorite. Ill take Mohyamen as the second choice.

Lets get a discussion going about the other races, spefically the late pick 4. Honcho how u been my man?

nowhere near those odds. They are the only 2 viable winners in the field, they will be close to co fave's something like even money 7-/5. Youll never see either above 2/1

I'm taking a shot with Fellowship finding a deep rail carpool lane open free and clear Saturday. Nyquist pulls off to the side after a mile and sixteenth, and Mohayman doesn't show up with enough gas in the tank. ((( lots of wishing going on here )))

The heck with trying to pre race the top two apart, I'm going to enjoy my 3rd betting choice at unreal odds.

AND Yeah I Think I WILL Spend My Quality Time On THE Rest of THE Races On THE card. Hopefully I can get some tonight, and drop my picks in here in the morning.

Yea I was way off . Could see Mohaynen going off around 4/5 which makes this a terrible betting race. Can't wait to see Mohaymen actually get asked to go on stretch in this one. Think he wins and fact nyquist is shipping to a track that isn't santa Anita favors Mohaymen imo. Winner of
This no question is favorite for kd unless another horse wins a major prep by say 8+ lengths.

Good stuff grenzen hope you crush today.

Just saw a horse i wrote about a month back i think Mo Green #4 in the 7th today at GP and will be wagering. Really liked maiden win and length did not seem to be any issue but a def ambitious step up here but price should be fair imo to lay.

Got PK5 with posted yesterday at SA for $1100 and early PK4 lost out on PK6 and Late PK4 though. Was very happy getting the #7 home in the 5th to Place at 63-1 knew this horse would be overlooked and has backclass so added in 3 yesterday and exacta went for $168 i believe. Try to do same today

I'm looking forward to the 3 year old colts and filly races this year. I might try just focusing on those graded races thru the year, instead of going wider and trying to follow a track, trainers, and jockeys.

It's just too hard for me to keep up properly on a day to day.

I honestly can't believe that nyquists trainer factored in the bonus when deciding on a path to the derby. The bonus is nothing compared to a horses stud for winning the derby.

It's crazy.

Really looking forward to this Florida Derby. Hoping Nyquist ends up longer than 6/5. Race should give us some insight going forward to May. Im keeping a close eye on this last future pool. Im really liking Danzing Candy and Cupid at this point. Strong possibility both could be within the four shortest prices on Derby Day.
