Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

You would be surprised how many times trainers get pissed at jockeys. But the trainers will always suck it up. It's pretty much a no win to vent on a jockey, lol all there friends are also jocks.

Bill Shoemaker had his own mind, if his mount acted up even a little, shoe lost his temper so easy.

I shouldn't say bad things about him, but if he could reply, I'm sure he would not disagree.

But he sure could nurse the lame sore ones home.

Did JL just have no clue how his horse was suppose to be ridden, did he know and ride Frosted in a way he wanted too,or did he ignore KM completely and again do his own thing and try to beat AP? If i am a trainer and its the Travers i have to believe i tell JL how the race broke down to them and how he would like Frosted ridden for his best chance to win even if it was a brief convo. I do not think JL can be just given a horse imo and let him do his own thing but i damn well believe that is what he did to get AP beat. I was just as impressed in AP's defeat as in his wins because i like seeing heart and grit and he showed a ton of it but if i am a trainer or owner for that matter how can you trust a jock that has his own agenda or game plan? Or is that just accepted? I might not respond very well in a situation where a jockey did that to a mount of mine.
Idk call me crazy, but those fractions were kinda slow for the travers. Idk a ton about strategy but ap prolly should have had move come later (by jockey) but I think the travel and quick shipping to saratoga prolly did him in. I would have wanted him in ny for 1-2 weeks beforehand to let him settle. Keen ice also ran a great race + did come late during Haskell. Think the distance + tough campaign prolly hurt ap but it's horse racing. People need to understand no horse really deserves to go off at 1-5. I hope ap can win the classic... I'll watch from a fans view and not bet the race. Honestly though think he will lose to beholder or honor code. Think ap doesn't like the extra distance plus any pace pressure hurts if he's out front. Think is ideal trip is to rate behind leader

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

first, not all jocks are the same just like not all horses are the same. some jocks just have the magic hands. some jocks work that horse in the morning. lezcano is no rasario. to me its as simple as that. going a step future who knows if lezcano had a agenda? for a diff trainer or owner or friend jock in that race. for sure I just think once victor put himself on the inside lezcanos thought has to be I have a chance to pin the champ. I have the chance to slow him down. his horse was moving good also so he could have felt like he was gonna go all the way?????????

liams map set some very nice fractions. now, will he do that again if he runs the bc classic? will he run the mile? so many different owners/ trainers are playing the wait game to see where others are going. private zone, honor code liams map. these are just some who will wait to see where others are running.

also castellano has honor code, keen ice and 1 more I believe to choose from. who gets his other mounts? mike smith? lezcano? jose Ortiz? makes a big difference. nice to start trying to put it all together.

Belmont Park 9/23/15

4.) 7-9-5
5.) 8-5-11
6.) 3-2-6
7.) 7-2-6
8.) 5-8-10
9.) 12-6-4

Tough card and have to spread to hit the exotics today imo. Going to throw a few W wagers on some prices today i hope to catch. In the 7th today i like the #7 Even Bette and have conditional set at 4-1 for $50 W. BOL to all itt and their plays this week.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

Well i think Even Bette needed one there after a long layoff and the early and wide move by JC did not help her chances any but the winner was not getting beat today imo even with her best. Hoping her next out comes here with 21-30 days and catch her then. Got price on conditional though because had Dr junk and had gone 3/4 on the late PK4 3 singles then ALL in last and think it paid $263 to a very chalky late PK4 obv losing out on EB there.

Look over both CHD and Belmont tomorrow late 6 at both.

Glad i am not in this end of the business. I would expect a rider to ride the ride i have planned out,not him. I would expect jock to keep himself safe at all times but execute the game plan I set. If i can not trust you what good are you to me? Jock may be god with goggles and hands soft as feathers but those qualities would be on display on someone else's horse not mine if he/she could not do the job i employed them for.

Beautiful day in my parts just starting to get after it

Prickly we have SA starting up Saturday along with the new Showvivor contest they run for free that should keep you busy till BC time

If i have a home track SA would be it. I have never been in person (that needs and will change soon) but it is def where i prefer to lose money

Take a look at Belmont and staying away from CHD today but most ready for SA Fall meet opening day tomorrow.

thanks honcho!, i really appreciate that.... I certainly feel blessed & lucky to have this opportunity to work & participate in the game I love... Although it has been tough adjusting to 7day work weeks, all the traveling, and not having much free time, but at the end of the day its all worth it.....

Im looking forward to this weekends SA card.. I like a horse in the 6th race saturday @SA, the #4 Mal Verde, I'm just waiting for harringtons workout report to be released tonight to see how he's been working since that last race and if harrington gives him a "B-" or better on those works he's had since his last race, then I'm jumping in with both feet....

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

What an outstanding morning here today and ready to get after it Just an early look at the SA card i am going to work a PK5 play around Curlins Fox and Nyquist and spread in other 3. I know CF likes the Downhill course and has Smith back up which i believe he broke her maiden on this course if memory is right. Nyquist has proven to be a solid improving horse and i still think we have a lot to see from this one. Try to get some picks to fade or a play or 2 up this afternoon and hope all itt have a +ev weekend.

From everything i have been reading and hearing it looks like the BC is coming together very nice in Lexington and if the BCC field holds it should be one hell of a race.
