I'm at work so no access, but I think he's horse#3 in race#5.

Warren's glandslam, had a bad trip last race and still looked like he had some oomph down the stretch, looks like he could close down some of the early speed. Wish the race was a tad longer, but will be using him in wp and multis.

Good luck.
Kev should get a kick out of this,im still lmao.

I was pimping Warren's Grandslam in Race 5 at Oak Tree. The horse didn't even come close to contending. I've been wrong before, many times, but this was bad.

Oak Tree @ Santa Anita 10/23/08

1.) 7-8-1
2.) 5-1-4
3.) 5-1-3
4.) 3-5-8
5.) 2-3-9
6.) 2-8-7
7.) 6-7-2
8.) 6-8-2

I like todays card, looks like some good multi race plays. The PK6 carry looks like it should get hit today, and pay pretty fair imo.Going to roll DD's from the 3rd on,and pk6,and late pk4.

On a side note,Kev after seeing some of your multi race plays you made pk4's and 3's,it looks like you used the TicketMaker thru DRF,this correct?

Give a good look to Ravalo breaking from the 3 post. The track will be off and there is so much early speed in this race. Rose should sit in and save ground around the turn and then...we'll see. This horse is very well traveled and is 20 11 3 3 lifetime at 6f.

Horses I like with:

2 Roaring Lion
4 Fleet Valid
7 Sacred Journey
9 Ah Day

Good luck!

I can pick 'em, still don't know how to bet 'em. I had no back up on VH - just tried to beat him. He disappears and I have a nice win bet plus exacta, trifecta and super.

Glad to see your talking shop now Triple, you always talked buggy horses and i couldnt talk to ya. A very good point you make about the 2 diff parts of racing, and i went thru the same thing when i started. The capping came right away,i just opened a DRF and i just got it. As for the wagering,i had to burn some green (meaning money,) till it just kinda all came together. Nice play yesterday, hope you continue to come over to the thoroughbreds. 1 thing about this sport i find kinda funny,or odd as it is,is people are either a buggy,or a thoroughbred capper, almost never both.

This is true. When it comes to the runners I feel like I can just spot and play hunches...or at least analyze the pace scenario well.

At buggies my knowledge is much greater, but we all know the payoff to playing buggies is usually much smaller. There is a lot more to post positions and race strategy it seems. Anyhoo...

Thanks though - I am always watching for opportunities in the bigger races.

Tomorrow the 8th race at Oak Tree at Santa Anita...I was told to bet #4. Warren's Decision with Michael Baze aboard.

I dunno my friend called me up so hyper telling me to put $1,000 to win and stuff lol. Something about Michael Baze hasn't had a winner in his last like 30+ mounts and for about 2 weeks he hasn't been in the winner circle. He usually has more then 1 mount everyday but today he has only one mount. Not only that, when Michael Baze has one mount he is about 62.3% winner and when he has one mount for the last race only he is 74% over a big sample.

But he said not only about the jockey you aren't betting the horse he said this horse is ready to run and should easily take this field by 3 lengths.

My friend does pick really well when he does call me I don't know about $1,000 but I will put $300.

Race 8 Santa Anita #4 Warren's Decision

Interesting comments here from Jon White, Oddsmaker for Oak Tree. Apparently Zenyatta is a go for the Classic.

He's got Zenyatta early morning line favorite at 5/2, Rip Van Winkle at 7/2, and Summer Bird at 9/2. Everybody else 10/1 or higher.

I hope you're right about Rachel Alexandra, but I've gotten word from a few people that the vote could sway with a convincing win by Zenyatta in the Classic.

She's a underlay and a big bet against as the favorite in this race in my opinion.

While I don't totally buy into the fact that she's just beaten the same California tomato cans over and over, she's never faced this kind and never been the distance.

I also think her form is down a notch or two from last year.

I don't like her at 2-1 though, which is where she will probably end up.

Then again, taking a short number on RVW is not great either.

White's comparison to Giant's Causeway's and Sakhee's odds doesn't make much sense either. Those horses ran on dirt in the Classic, not synthetic and not in a year like this one, when all the Euros will likely be overbet based on last year's results.

RVW is going to take a ton of money also.

I think Colonel John offers some value in the race.

One horse who is getting no attention at all (and i think is a major contender) is Gio Ponti. Very talented multiple Grade 1 winner who is proven over the surface, and also at the distance.

No disgrace at all in losing his last race, as 1 1/2 miles may have been slightly beyond his scope, and the race was run during a driving rainstorm over a swamp-like surface.

How he's flying under the radar here is completely beyond me. Might be the biggest overlay in the race.

Zero,Discreet,Goods, thank you guys for some good insight.
I am all in on Big Z, i love her chance, and her price so far. I think the added distance will help her imo,i just hope Smith dont go waterhead on her like he tried a couple races back.

Discreet i agree with you on Gio Ponti also, another of my fav horses last 2 years, and this horse cant be overlooked.

Im glad the BC talk has started, was going to start it up today myself, and im happy to see from the people who know what they are talking about.

As for HOY,im OTR for saying RA has already got it,BUT if Big Z wins the BC Classic,it would not suprise me if the vote gets super close,or she even pulls it out.
Kinda like boxing where a boxer finishes the last 10 sec with a flurry to steal the round,,,last thing the judges see.

I agree and will use him also.

Saw his last race live and he made a decisive move to the lead at the top of stretch but just hit the wall in midstretch. Turf was a bog though.

My only concern is if that race is going to put him over the top a little.

first off Rip Van Winkle will be the favorite. Secondly, as a top of the line money making handicapper Zenyatta might not be in the money in this race and truly has no shot at winning based on her numbers. she will be at least 3-1 in this race and truly is still an underlay.
