TY. I know all about the synthetic surface BS and his chances are as good as any running on that stupid surface. The fact is that Summer Bird is going to go off at odds alot less than 20-1. More like 5-1. He's the best 3 year old, if not the top U.S. 3 up distance horse. I'm just letting the good people here that there is incredible value on Summer Bird at 20-1. Whether he wins or not is another story. That's horseracing.

What a day @ Oaktree today. Anybody posting picks? I have virtual stable notification on Anabaa's Creation today in the Lady Secret Race 8. Anabaa is up against Zenyatta. Had tremendous race last time against Zenyatta and just got nipped at the end. I'm going to lay off this race probably, because the competition is too much, and I think Zenyatta/Mike Smith learned their lesson last time as far as 'holding back' a little too much.

Some other really good races. As far as value plays... I like Parading to be involved in the Goodwood...and Global Hunter to be involved in the Oak Tree Mile (turf).

Still need to do more analysis, hopefully I get a chance to post later.

2.) 6-9-8
3.) 2-6-3
4.) 1-4-7

6.) 9-10-2
7.) 4-1-7-6

Dont see a lot of value today, but some excellent competitive racing. Had to use 4 total horses in the 7th,its that wide open imo.

FTR was -64 on the day last sat, good racing. And for our friends across the pond just read on DRF that Sea The Stars was retired, was a little suprised to hear that, but a fantastic racehorse.

Got in on the good price for Summer Bird for 50 over at Sb.
has to be a good price if StS stays retired.
Thx for the info Cefils!

I agree that 20 to 1 is a good bet now that Sea the Stars is definitely out. I don't really like his chances, but 20 to 1 will even be arbable.

A few questions...

1. has Summer Bird ever run a great race on a fast track?

2. now that Sea the Stars is not going to run, will Zenyatta be in the Classic?

3. would Zenyatta be the favorite?

On a fast dirt track, I would prefer Quality Road over Summer Bird any day. On the artificial track I don't know, but I guess I would lean Quality Road.

20 to 1 is still a great bet though, because it will be arbable. Maybe it will even rain

Bump. He's not exactly my top pick either. But I'm taking 20-1.

Do u lose ur bet if summer bird doesn't run? If so, then is there some possibility the horse won't race?

Same here, I just couldn't pass up 20-1 I'm sure I'll have others involved on raceday, but this seemed like too much value to pass up.

On Sportsbook.com it's listed as "all wagers have action"
So yeah, If Sb is a scratch then it's a loss. from my hasty limited research it looked like all systems go.

Seems like an erroneous line, then... That is unless there is some info that points to summer bird not running.

Wonder if they'll cancel the wager?

normally ante post betting is all bets lose until bookmakers go "non-runner,no,bet" whis is normally about a week to 10 days before the day of the race

He plans to run. Like any horseracing future, no runs are not refundable.

Brisnet: This morning, Tim Ice had Summer Bird gallop 1 1/8th miles on the synth at Santa Anita in prep for the Classic. He has SB scheduled for a 5F work-out on Saturday. Also, DRF comments that this will be the first of 3 workouts for him on the polytrack.

All current indications are that he will run in the Classic. Wet or dry, 20-1 remains pretty good value. You could scalp a very healthy arbitrage by laying well above race time odds on betfair.com (if you have access)...

Matchbook should also have a market for this race. They had a market for all of the Triple Crown races, so I doubt they will miss this one.

The line still hasn't moved, What's funny is that they still have Sea the stars listed @ +350,

So unless StS pulls a Walt Frazier I guess they'll keep collecting on those bets, and those folks will be screwed.

1.) 5-1-6
2.) 4-3
3.) 3-2-6
4.) 5-7-3
5.) 10-9-4
6.) 3-1-2
7.) 6-5-8
8.) 11-5-3

I like the backside of the card today, appears to be some value to the late pk4,and the pk6 wont carry again.

Honch,

You gotta use 'warrens grandslam' in the fifth (I think)

I'm at work so no access, but I think he's horse#3 in race#5.

Warren's glandslam, had a bad trip last race and still looked like he had some oomph down the stretch, looks like he could close down some of the early speed. Wish the race was a tad longer, but will be using him in wp and multis.

Good luck.
