Thanks for the advice. Think I will stay away from horse wagering after this weekend (prolly only play major races). Ended up blowing through 75% of my roll by betting pick 3s and 4s way above what I planned (played $1 tickets and not .25). Its really depressing when you are 1 race off in these bets and dont put extra horses in a ticket where you can hit a nice score.

Thanks Honch, Yeah its been awhile. Something I know your no stranger to I had some serious health issues. I developed pneumonia and slipped into a coma for 3 months, at which time I was certain to die. Received last rights, wife brought the kids into say goodbye,....etc. Then they said I would undoubtably be brain damaged if I did live because of lack of oxygen to the brain. Well needless to say I woke up after a three month slumber and had lost the ability to walk or basically move at all on my own. Long story...short after a year of intense therapy I have learned to walk again, although with a cane and slowly regaining all my other talents. God is good!!!

I will be rooting like hell for California Chrome on Saturday but I just don't think he is going to finish the job. Not sure if its because I am still injured from the defeat of my all time favorite horse, my hometown hero Smarty Jones and all the failures before and since, but I just don't get the feeling CC is deserving of an honor that has eluded some many before him. Tonalist, Commanding Curve or maybe Wicked Strong beats him. I will check in later in the week with my finally opinion. God Bless and Good Luck to All

wicked strong and tonalist IMO have the best shot to tarnish the chrome
i will be waging against him
and if CC finishes 3rd or worse the trifectas will be huge
his odds will be artifically low
i bet there are at least 100,000 2 dollar souvenier tickets bought

Who are you guys using for ADW online?

I have been using TVG because I got a decent bonus/double-odds promotion when I signed up last BC day, but it's time to move my money somewhere else and collect another bonus. I'm thinking drfbets might be my next stop. I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what kinda rebate I'll actually get it seems all the sites just say "we'll give you a rebate/points/etc." but nobody says how much!

Any help appreciated :-)

Question for all the exotic bettors...

What is your strategy for betting superfecta's on a relatively small budget. I don't mind betting up to $24 a race if I sense there is some value. Keep in mind I probably barely understand what value is, but I am comfortable betting in that range.

For some reason my main horse wagering goal is to hit a $1 superfecta. My current strategy is to bet a couple $1 part wheels that look like 1/2/3,4,5/3,4,5 (with other tickets being similar with the legs interchanged) based on my "race analysis". I have not had many near hits yet on a limited trial basis. I am not really interested in betting .10 supers but would love to hear some success stories with other strategies.

Another question, how often/when/how much do you tip the bet teller? My general strategy is to give a couple bucks if I hit anything over $50 (especially on exotics and I only risked $2-$8). Or if I hit something in the mid three figures I have tipped in the $10 range (this has only happened twice BTW). I am also much more apt to tip if it sways the teller to give me a few extra drink tickets if I am in Vegas. This worked at Bally's Sports book this past weekend.

On a sidenote, just returned from Vegas and had a great time handicapping at the Flamingo pool and then hanging out in the Sportsbook to try out my picks. For the low roll handicapper in Vegas, I would really recommend the Flamingo Sports Book. They keep you knee deep in free drinks as long as you have some bet tickets in front of you. Some of the other strip casino's only gave out drink tickets if you were betting in excess of $20-$25 per ticket. This may have been skewed as it was a night of the Pacers/Heat series. I am not a paid Flamingo shill but I do think it's the best deal on the strip for location/quality/price.

wow this is a big week. local teams kings made the nhl finals nba finals start triple crown on the line with a hell of a card for Saturday and my dodgers I hope can get there act together. so I just watched workout video for beholder ( the champ) they showed her walking back to the shed and she didn't look strong (video on blood horse or horseracingnation). if someone watches please tell me im tripping. I want to rep west coast on Saturday but after that workout ummm I don't know about beholder. im also worried about golden cents. yeah hes the champ but theyre gonna be tough on o'neil plus its GC first race this year. that's rough, that race has palice malice central banker and shakin it up. to retrack im also losing faith in G stevens lately. I want to hit that dam pk 4 but I ll do 2 tickets one will single the chrome with coverage in the others the 2nd tix I need to find a single if I cover the Belmont stakes.

Simon I am very glad you are back my man! The struggles you went through you know I can relate and appreciate. Little did they know how little oxygen your brain actually uses right?

SGV no idea to answer your question because that would mean I would have to read something other than 2+2 and I just don't but it is a good one maybe shoot a tweet to someone in the know and I am sure an answer would be quicker that way. I have solid people I get info from if you want a name or 2 in pvt.

Excited for this weekend ahead and early weather per weather.gov is mostly sunny 79 for the Belmont.

Moreno could wire to wire this race.

Would be nice to see palace malice crush the field. Sounds like he's ready

I imagine this pick 6 is going pay huge... Going to be hard to fine a single anywhere in the sequence.

Do you guys typically play many small pick 4s or a one with a lot of horses that will cost more (ex; 1 ticket that costs $50-200, or maybe 6 tickets that cost $120).

Thinking about trying to go light on 1-2 races (1-3 horse max prolly trying to stay around 1-2 if it warrants) and picking against CC in the belmont. Might go 5-7 horses deep bc I think it will payout well if he loses. Haven't looked at the form yet though to handicap.

I cant recommend BetPTC.com enough to you. They have awesome customer service & rite now they have a $100 sign-up bonus & by far the best rebate program of any ADW & the best part is it's instant rebate!!! Soon as race goes official, u get credited with ur rebate.

Yes, but CC is no Secretariat.

Plus secretariat only had to beat 3 other horses in the Belmont (like it really would have mattered, but still CC ain't Big Red)
