Well my pick 3 from Oaks/Woodford/Derby resulted in a $78 consolation payoff since Point of Entry was a late scratch

Pdiggz thanks, but im ok man. What i meant is i was always told by the Dr's that i would always need a walker, and at best a cane to move around,i even tried to tell them im Honcho ,and they said it was just the way it was going to be,well thats not the case. So thats why i do it,for everyone that believed in me,and the white coats who couldnt measure my heart or determination....Like my golf score,Honcho is going to put up a big number

I also have radiation colitis which is its own fun,and the reason i need to smoke. I dont get hi,i just use it to feel normal for lack of a better explanation. I was 265lbs 16 months ago,now im 139lbs,so more than anything im frustrated being without,so i try and turn my frustration into a positive and cap horses. I wont post on this again in this thread, this is the HORSE RACING THREAD,not my own thread, and apologize to the posters itt that flat out dont care to hear about this crap, and dont blame you.

Wanted to get over to the book today and play Hollywood, but its crazy windy here,so i just stayed in and played with myself Looking forward to the triple crown talk, because i really feel we have a horse that can do it this year.

From what i have been reading it looks like the connections of Palice Malice are giving Corky a pass on his ride because of blinkers being added, nice of the connections to do that.

Race 6 at Hollywood today. Bob Baffert had a 4 yr old first time starter named Everton that looked terrific, winning a MdSpWt. Keep an eye on him, I think.

At Belmont today: Dayatthespa looked good in her return. She had got spooked and hurt herself at Hollywood last Nov. They weren't sure if she'd make it back to the track. Looked really good today. Put away a challenge off the turn and drew clear without much trouble. I read that Chad Brown has her pointed to the Gr.I Just a Game on the Belmont undercard, June 8.

I'm going to defend Mike Smith. He's got a 20-1 shot. If he grabs the lead and gets the horse to settle and cut the pace, might be a different outcome. I think that may have been his best chance to win. It was and gamble, but whatever no one cares if you finish 8th instead of 12th. The others up close early, maybe you could say the jocks played it safe, and how did they finish?

Didnt look like he was trying to settle the horse to me. He never took his foot off the gas. This is what happens when you dont give explicit instructions in the paddock.

Rumor is 104 Beyer for the Derby. Feels about right.

It's possible the horse was over-excited due to the circumstances. Sometimes you ask a horse to pick it up a little bit and they give you the afterburners.

Mike has done this before in this race. 100% cost Unbridleds Song the Derby and arguably Bodemeister. It may have been the horse but hard give the benefit of the doubt

Come on you guys, this is the horse racing thread. Im not a reg in here and i only came by for the derby and i know im venting, but damn the whole country is watching and everybody wants to bet the race of the year and we get this crapasss ride like its a 6250 claimer going 6 furlongs. 109change feels hella lot different then 1:11change.

Mission accomplished: screw the natural pace of the field and set it up for orb.
Collateral damage: palace malice prob needs 2 or 3 races to find his best stride again.

Maybe jock thought he could steal off with it getting out 9,10 lengths and pray for traffic behind. Then like someone said in here earlier, verrazano and vyjack they were all in too.

Rant disclaimer! Had revolutionary backwheeled to the field in the oaks. LOL who tries blinkers first time in the derby anyway.

As my grandfather would say it is a good start on getting even.

I used the 4 on breeding + inside post + slop + robby.

The 4 had the worst wet Tomlinson in the field iirc. He was the one horse that I basically didn't even look at.

sick life

Needed a wheelbarrow to carry all that money home?

I just felt the slop moved up the inside horses. Perhaps it pays to be a little ignorant...

I found it interesting the exotics paid more than in 2011.

I blew $200 in a double Unlimited Budget/Orb. No backing in the Oaks. Dummy.

Mike smith takin a bashing in here. U guys do understand that Palice Malice was wearing shades for the 1st time.... Right?? Pletcher even said himself after the race that he himself was to blame. He told smitty to have him close to the pace today & with instructions like that & the addition of shades, the horse is gonna b much more keen to go from the bell. Once a horse has decided hes gonna run, a smart jockey does not wrestle the horse, he takes the only option he has. U let the horse go & hope he freaks. If mike pulls on the reins, its an even worse outcome folks. Still to this day, no horse has won the derby making an equipment change. Fwiw, Orb wins the TC this year.. Also, i wonder since phipps & janeys are purests & they only breed (dont purchase at the sales) if orb will run his 4yo year since there obv keeping orb for themselves instead selling immediately to the japs or arabs.

Garrett's Free DRF "Race of The Day" Picks

Indiana Downs May 7th Race 1

Quite a few scratches on the card, #7 looks to be several cuts above the field. This will be the #2 horse's first race so a bit of a wild card.

Here are my bets:

$2 Tri-Wheel 7/11,6,3/11,6,3 ($12)
$2 Ex 7/2
$1 Superfecta Wheel 7/11/2,3,6/2,3,6 ($6)

Alwaystwininspired i didnt even see him once try n slow the big colt down. But it is hard to see everything. If you heard an interview or saw an article that he did try an rein him in but decided it wasnt going to happen thats good enough for me and i will take back my criticisms. Good post btw.

ATS is a solid poster here, and i read the same from what the connections said...that said neither ATS or the connections will convince me off my opinion of the guy because as Clark has stated i have saw this too many times from him in situations. Corky going to cork.

Solid post. Do you think Orb wins due to his dominance or lack or competition. FWIW I think it's the latter.

A few variables go into my figuring he wins the TC. I think the biggest thing is the fact Orbs trained by Shug. And what i mean by that is, shug has not pushed this horse at all to get where he is. Where as in prev years many of the derby winners had been pushed just to make the race itself. The first time Orb will have been pushed to do somethin will b the belmont. The 2 weeks rest leading up to next sats preakness im not worried about cos Orb has run off a 2 week rest b4 when he was a 2yo. So unlike horses in past years that have attmpted the TC, Orbs gonna have a more solid foundation underneath him. 2nd variable is, Orbs proven to b a smart racehorse. Hes a horse that has figured out pace. In the fla derby, they went slow, so he was close to the pace. In the ky derby they went fast, so he laid back. So were not gonna have to worry about him gettingburnt up in a duel or anything like that (ie birdstone, touch gold).the horse is jus very tactical & a big player for the TC boys.

Also 1 more thing bout Palice Malice, what do u guys think those fractions would have been on a dry strip???lol. Considering las year was a fas track & what bodimeister did. They may have went a sub 45 half this year if it was dry.

Twin we need a new triple crown king for sure.

A small field at pimlico would help.

Yes ATS i thought the same thing about the fractions, and the bj's that took the sub 2 min prop and the unique words they would of been saying

I liked that prop as well in the slop, but cant bring myself to make them type of lays.

Probally be back on track with Hollywood friday, getting better and recharging the batteries (thats what she said) and will post anything i may see thats worth some value to my eye.

Ok WTF...... 5Dimes has ORB @ +115 rite now to win the preakness.... How in the heck can this horse go off anything better than 4-5 in the preakness????? Seriously, when a horse goes off favored in the derby & wins the derby. What have been there odds n the preakness? FU Peg, Big Brown. Pretty sure they were both odds on n the preak.....seems like a steal rite now imo. What am i missing here?

I read on drf the morning line may be just under 2:1. I thought what?! The public sends this horse off at even money or less no doubt.

I would take 6:5 right now.
