Thank You Centaurmyth,Noddy,Simon.
I made profit on the day $3796.30,total wagered was $198. Hit late pk4,DD 7th and 8th,DD 8th and 9th,pk3 6-8,and pk3 7-9. I guess that should kinda give you an idea how i wager Centaurmyth,as simple as i can explain it is: 1-I cap the card,2-i compare my selections against the ML,when i see value i like i mark my program 3-if i see value in consecutive races i play DD's,pk3's,pk4's..etc...Like i said before the meet started in mid july,Del Mar offered great payouts in the DD pools,pk3 and 4 pools, different than Hollywood and Santa Anita. Thanks again guys

Bridge-jumpers fall in First Episode
By Rowland Hoyt
A huge wager in the place pool on Saturday's First Episode Stakes at Suffolk Downs made for eye-popping returns when 2-5 favorite Ask Queenie finished third, six lengths behind winner Southoftheborder.

Ask Queenie was going for her 19th career victory in a Massachusetts-bred stakes but could not sustain her rally in the mile and 70-yard race. She then lost the photo finish for second by a head to pacesetting Lily's Goldmine.

There was $101,883 in the place pool of the race - $100,000 of which was bet on Ask Queenie. Southoftheborder returned $7.60 to win and $26 to place. Lily's Goldmine returned $52 to place.

Suffolk often suspends show wagering on statebred races because of the history of the program producing dominant horses with very little competition. Massachusetts also breaks to the dime, offering larger dividends compared to other racing states.

Across the board? What will you get for second maybe 1-2? For third you will get maybe 1-4?

Just bet Commentator to win ...he will either win and come off the board.

http://drf.com/news/article/106163.html

A victory would put him in rarefied company along with five-time Horse of the Year Kelso (1961, 63, 65) and the champion Discovery (1934-36) as the only three-time winners of this prestigious handicap race.

At 8 years old, Commentator would join Kelso as the oldest horse to win the Whitney, a race being run for the 82nd time on Saturday.

Zenyatta grabs 12th win in Hirsch
By Jay Privman
DEL MAR, Calif. - Zenyatta ran her perfect record to 12 races by rallying belatedly to win the Grade 1, $300,000 Clement Hirsch Stakes, overcoming a dawdling pace and an admittedly overconfident ride from her jockey, Mike Smith, to satisfy an adoring crowd on Sunday at Del Mar.

Last in the field of seven with five-sixteenths a mile to go, Zenyatta ($2.40) was taken to the middle of the track by Smith and closed furiously to remain unbeaten. She just got up to win by a head, the smallest margin of victory in her career. She finished the final five-sixteenths of a mile in approximately 28.20 seconds, and ran the final sixteenth of a mile in less than six seconds. The final time was slow, 1:43.24, but was a function of a race shape - fractions of 48.84 seconds for a half-mile and 1:13.64 for six furlongs - that worked against Zenyatta.

"Did I scare ya?" Smith yelled to Zenyatta's trainer, John Shirreffs, when he brought Zenyatta back to the winner's circle.

Later, Smith said, "I underestimated the competition."

"I was tracking Life Is Sweet," Smith said of the race's second choice, also trained by Shirreffs. "When she made her move, I made my move. But the leaders skipped away. But she reached out with that stride, and she was just pricking her ears. She galloped out like a machine. That last quarter-mile she felt like a Quarter Horse. And she wasn't even breathing after the race."

Zenyatta prevailed by a head over Anabaa's Creation, a 22-1 shot who took the lead from pacesetter Lethal Heat with a sixteenth of a mile to go. Lethal Heat finished third, three-quarters of a length farther back. Life Is Sweet, Dawn After Dawn, Tidal Dance, and Champagne Eyes completed the order of finish.

Fans were at least six deep around the paddock before the race, and every inch of every level on the terraces above the paddock was filled with fans. They cheered Zenyatta when she left the paddock, but saved their biggest cheer for when she returned to the winner's circle, a moment that brought a smile to Shirreffs's face.

"What Zenyatta has done is incredible," Shirreffs said. "To race at a high level, in Grade 1 competition, and continue to win over and over is a measure of her class and constitution."

Shirreffs and Jerry Moss, who owns Zenyatta with his wife, Ann, have made no commitments to her next start, but seem to be leaning toward the Lady's Secret at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meeting as a final prep to their year-end goal, the Breeders' Cup.

"That's what the Thoroughbred industry did, create a venue for the best horses in the country, and the world, to come together," Shirreffs said. "Certainly you want to support that."

Mike Smith nearly blew it this time.

Zenyatta was forced to close a ton into a lead that appeared to run the last 5/16s in :30 flat. And they claim she wasn't gassed after race. Oh my. If you haven't seen it sorry for the spoiler, but you need to view the race at http://www.bloodhorse.com.

I didnt like the distance for her yesterday, and Smith did damn near blow it,he has never been a fav of mine. Anabaa's Creation (IRE) ran a winning race!...But Zenyatta is a big black freak who refused to lose yesterday.

For being gassed,i didnt think she was either IMO,that was my post race observations, looked like her ears were pricked forward,no visable kidney sweat, and no heaving from her rib cage. She actually looked leaner to me than she was earlier in the year.

There is so much pride in horse racing.

If I owned Zenyatta I would ask them to up the offer so the loser of the race gets $1,000,000 and go for it. It would just be a public workout. Run her along behind RA, don't hurt the horse, collect $1,000,000 and go home for the Breeders Cup.

There is no way either would want to lose this race just for money. However, I think Zenyatta crew would jump on this offer as Zenyatta is 5 years old and has $2M earnings and just for one race to get $800K-$1.2M is worth it. I know Steven A. knows Sam Houston very well and he is always leading trainer there and could probably convince Jess Jackson to go for this. I do agree it would be kinda stupid for these two horses to do a match race I would love to see it but I think a regular race would be much better. But Sam Houston??? LOL

If they do match my goodness would Rachel Alexandra be such a huge favorite in odds over Zenyatta.
