Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

Redboard alert. Yesterday's action wound up being radically different than what I wrote. I feel unethical about writing the actual bets, but so much changed & it's the truth so it ain't.

In SA 3: I got caught in traffic and shut out. My selection I believe finished 3rd.

In SA6 my hoss scratched.

Quickcapped KEE8 and bet 20 win on #12 Flashmash. He paid 17.40. +154

KEE9 bet 20 win #11 Gold Megillah who finished 4th. -20

I stuck with the posted pick 5 at GGF and unfortunately the fav was a winner in the 6th. -14

Bet a 20 dub at HAW8 9 with 3. 9 won and the probable was 25.60, but the 3missed the board.

With the pick 5 dead and since I'd earmarked $94 to risk I opted to bet the final 20 on a $4 late pick 3 at GG7 11with23467with4.
It paid 146.80. +126.80

174+126.80-94=206.80+

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

Tough call for Dominguez choosing Hansen over Alpha. Id have to imagine the infection recovery is one main reason. I dont see hansen doing anything but speeding to the stretch run and fading late, so I wonder if Ramon is leery of a full Alpha recovery. Then again, dropping off a horse that you won the BC juvinielle with probably is a hard thing to do too...

At any rate, Ramon on board Hansen makes my upcoming bets against Hansen even easier, as I never liked Dominguez as a big race jock.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

ramon is a good jock. not great. he stays at the big A majority of the time and only lately has he been given big mounts out of town. He had to start taking those big out of town mounts because he knows julien is coming to town soon. I dont care for julien to much as well but respect his rideing sometimes. he kills it at keenland but id take him more on a turf race then a dirt. Ramon still rides the 12k races all the time. big time jocks like gomez john v they dont do that. ramon is just like russell the muscle baze at the g.g.

On that note i will say that i like union raggs alot in the derby. I think he can finally run a big one but !@!@@# julien has to watch the old replays and get used to the horse. He has a monster under him and if he listens to the trainer and keeps the horse out of traffic he can win. but he made union rags look bad last race. makeing me feel better about ill have another creative cause and gemoligist. oh and gomez of course.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

oh man this is gonna be a great race this year. And i hope i really hope that if a east coast horse wins this year derby he doesnt hold him back from west coast breeders cup. we had this conversation 2 years back about the track and no dirt. well now we have dirt the west coast horses traveled again this year. mostly baffertand robert hess( he trains both sides) but sadler shipped a lot this year so we will see what excuse east coast trainers have. I think the breeders cup will stay on the west side a lot so please stop holding back on shipping. As i write this i see that havre de grace was retired today. That horse was wack to me and didnt derserve thaT award. then when her trainer pulled her out of the apple blossem and taunted the people over there at oaklawn and cried about the handicap(weight difference) it made it worst to me. Zenyatta welcomed challengers with sick weight difference. That horse and the owner trainer ran scared. Its ok because even though she was hurt and now getting back to normal AWESOME FEATHER is the true female beast. I hope she gets back soon so we can see her run.

TW - honest question about Hansen - why do you see him fading in the stretch? last race in the blue grass i thought he ran very good. the pace was a bit fast, but nothing ridiculous. and i thought he ran good in the stretch. i didnt see him weaken, falter and fade. dullahan was the only horse that gained any meaningful ground on him. in top class races sometimes you run a solid race and someones a little better.

i'm not saying i like him to win the derby, but he's got to be in the mix. i definitely see him as horse that can run the distances needed to win these races.

i dont know, i think Union Rags gets a lot of free passes, but Hansen gets slammed if he loses, even in a game 2nd. Union Rags was never a threat at all in the Fl Derby, but people just shrug, and will back him in the derby.

Hansen will face a pace in the KD, that he won't be able to handle when it comes to the final furlong. He'll have to exert even more energy just to keep along with the top pack of horses. The 1 1/4 is just way too long for him. Maybe fade isn't the right word, maybe its just Hansen won't have the firepower to withstand the big closers. His losing races were super speedy with him in the lead, and yes he ran really, really well. Just think there will be a romper coming through, similar to Dullahan in the Blue Grass. Can't see Hansen winning...

Then again, I'm a flippy floppy bastard, I'll probably have $200 on Hansen at Post Time...

Part of me thinks Trinniberg joining the KD may actually help Hansen. If the connections make the decision to try and rate Hansen mid pack and let Trinninberg do his thing attracting some of the other early speed (Bode...), maybe Hansen can run past and use his energy for late...

post positions matter, too. ha. Can't wait for this damn thing to go off.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

when it comes to the biggest betting day for a lot of players and with your money no free passes on your win tix pick 3 and 4 diffrent but win place you have to go with your handi your gut and the look of the horse post time

i just think that it was julien's second race with him he got put in a bad spot. **** for all we know anyone of our top picks could catch the 1 hole and ooppps throw him out

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

and to me now this race just got juicer. now that this sprint horse is in a see a new race unfolding. I might have spoken to soon to be honest because now bob baffert gets to show if he can school his horse to a new level coming out of this race. If he can teach him to rate then theres a shot. still i just those zayat silks and think 2nd. pioneer of the nile. we will see if mikey smith can get it done. hes got a great records at that track in the last couple years. i hope the amazombe race isnt the one before so he can get some rest.

sorry i never said his name after all i typed. bodemeister

so i mean this is sort of the problem for whoever is up there in the front. youre going to have like 16 horses try to run you down. and there seems to be plenty of early speed, so the pace is going to be like nothing any of them have experienced. plus adding another 1/8th.

and if you cant hold off the charge in the blue grass you prob wont in the derby. i get that too.

You can try these for betting. I use Twinspires and I'm very satisfied. I would also look for any signup bonuses that might be offered and take advantage if you like the betting service. Someone else will have to recommend any books to read or you could try searching this thread.

^^^^^Hansen can rate & stalk & il even bet money hes not on the lead @ the 1st qtr, nor the half, but imo he will get first run, but with that being said, he will b stalking stiff fractions & i still have questions bout his stamina. But make no mistakes about it, ramon will b rating & playing for the stalk & pounce move & praying he can hold in the that seamlessly endless strecth that runs under those beautiful twin spires. Imp, i dont think he'll win, but he reminds me so much of a speedy horsebthat played that same card. Nobles Promise.

I'm not sure what your asking? Yes, I've won around $3,000 on a Trifecta bet, due to luck. If your asking if I'm making a living wagering on Horse Racing, then currently, no. I was losing about 6% of the amount bet this last year. I think that I can improve on my profit in future wagering due to analyzing that I can't seem to win at certain tracks. I'll only know once I have enough "future live betting results" which will take at least a few months because I only average 2 bets a day. You can read my last posts on this thread to get a better idea what I'm talking about.

I would suggest reading this entire thread if your really interested in Horse Racing. Horse Racing can be a lifelong endeavor if you want to continue to get better at it. You can't beat Horse Racing by betting every race. You should try finding races where you have an opinion on a horse that you like, as well as, not liking the other horses in that particular race.

There is a lot that can be discussed about Horse Racing, but you can take any approach that you want as long as you think of the amount that you bet, as entertainment and enjoy your time. If you decide to take the serious approach, then I would keep good understandable records, for example, track programs, closing odds on each horse and payoffs. Bet 5% of your bankroll per wager. Your bankroll will grow fast If you have a working system, so there is no need to throw a lot of money into it.

Always think of Horse Racing as an entertainment cost and bet accordingly to maximize your enjoyment.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

Just found this thread as well. Just "found" horse racing a few months ago and am very intrigued. I have watched both the florida derby and lousianna derby, as well as the santa anita and the wood memorial. I will be in vegas at ketucky derby time and want to bet around a hundo on the race. What are the best ways to bet a hundred bucks? Seems like a silly question I know and it probably is but should I just pick a horse i like and bet it? I was looking at some trifecta boxes those seem safe but not possible to win any thing worth winning. Maybe a wheel but then it gets kinda confusing for me. I just have fallen in love with the sport and really have enjoyed reading this thread though only about 20% makes sense to me. Ay advice for a novice wood be appreciated, ive never placed a horse racing bet before lol. Like i said id be more interested in hitting a 4 figure score that winning 32$. I think i have a few horses i like, take charge indy, hansen, alpha, and gemoligist. Seems weird that this bodemeister would now be the favorite but what do i know.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

razztapes - i would keep it simple. bet $100 to win on the horse you like. great thing about Kentucky Derby is you get great odds since there are so many running and so many with a decent chance. if you get 10/1 on $100, you profit $1k. easy game. good luck. enjoy the race and the vegas trip. also, report back to brag if you win.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD

hey razztapes im sorry but dont listen to that you said u got 4 horses you like u said u want to win big bet a 1dollar tri box with the 4 horses. it will cost you 24 dollars use the same 4 in a exacta box that will cost 12 thats 36 dollars you still have 64. remember you can also do 10cent wager just in vegas there are no screens to bet so you dont want to hold up the line be ready when you get to your window have your bet i could be wrong but i believe te casinos make little to no money with horse racing becasue i have only once and i mean once have a good vegaS sports book ineraction. And it as at stateline primm valley big al from chi-town (al from chicago) every other sports book i go to has un happy old guys

ill also bein vegas for the derby thinking im just gonna hang at stateline and go to vegas after. Sorry i got off topic. 64 dollars this is one of the few times that odds will be so good that spreading is a must so if you like those 4 horses use a couple long shots to win place like 5 win place with your last 30 to 40 id suggest this take 6 horses your 4 plus ill have another and creative cause use those 6 single union rags in 2nd then use your 6 plus alpha bode rousing underneath if you play he tri find a good horse to single in the 2 and 3 hole great luck

the 10cent super is the only bet for that poce but will get you lots of coverage under your faviortes
