Cool there's a Horse Racing Thread on this forum.... gonna read it and see what i can learn. Obviously not going to post anything in this thread other than this post because i know little about the sport. --- but horse racing has recently captured my attention as rather fascinating. I placed a few bets at a couple tracks, and when i was in Las Vegas... I won a few.... obviously only picked the favorite.

I'm enamored with a racing legend --- Secretariat....off to watch Seabiscuit a far better movie.

f/u on that CT race. the #6 Sharp Beauty had to be euthanized. so sad. :-(

anthony mawing was the only jockey to be hospitalized overnight. but sounded like he was ok and it was more for observation.

CarlVectorForce1 - Welcome. This is a great sport. i have heard that the book on Seabiscuit is a whole lot better than the movie. You might want to check that out. I was planning to read it at some point, too.

+1 on the book read it in one sitting fanatstic writing not only about horse racing but also the entire era

Parlayed my winnings from Sunday into today. Hit for over $40,000 today. Posting my tickets in a second.

Had the card broke down well i think,and right idea,just wrong longshots in the last. $144.80 for 5/6 for $90 profit.....what was i going to do with the 17k anyways

Crushed the first few races with win bets and exactas. Parlayed into Pick 6. Hit a $4 Pick 6 today at SA.

Going back to cash them now. Obv have to carry a piece with me in the car. I hit a ton of 5/6's as well . Still in shock thought it was 3 on rail and 5 on outside till I heard Trevor call it. This is considered my 2nd biggest score on the ponies ... it was easy today wow so much chalk

saw there was a carryover yesterday, put in a $18 ($0.25) ticket then forgot about it. sure enough i was alive to 1,3,8 in the last leg, but score would've been a paltry $1.5kish... nothing compared to your $35k score congrats again.

ok here we go night before the big cap saturday. Its gonna be a party at santa anita tomorrow. catch me in the top grand stands after race 5 blitz smoking a blunt with a bottle of henny. top of the stretch side.


So anyways late pick 4 is 400k pot minus the take out of course but lets make some money.


race 8. the rail is not out tomorrow this race meaning no excuse going to wide and the best fastest horse sould get there. wish i knew more about lezcano the money burner (lol what we call him) on turf. sadler in 3rd in the standings. the 10 is nice also and rasario gonna have anoter big day. Carla gaines a great turf trainer(Nosibas Key) was a great horse R.I.P So long story half long coverage this race. 3,4,8,10,11

race 9: two horse race the 5 and the 7 really i am doing another tix with the 7 singled this race but big tix 5 and 7


race 10: another two horse race only. Again i know the last time they hooked up Jeranimo won but Mr. commons is a new horse now. 1 and 5 again with my 7 single tix i will single 1 to use extra last leg and one more in the first leg



race 11: the 2 ultamite eagle is a good race horse. but its is first time 1 1/4 and second race on dirt he is in but on the tix have to use caution thats why i double singled. the 3 lezcano the money burner has a shot. he has the most dirt experience and has been in with good competition. the 9 setsuko is a mystery. He only has like 1 win and it came in a major drop(allowance) race. But dam does he like distance and if a slow pace happens he can eat it up. I wont use him but i do respect his million plus he has earned in graded races in place and show. the 12 is also a mystery and i have no real knowdlege of him but bejarano loves the money. 2,3,12 and 9 one time

wow, Hansen was very sharp today. tough to start way out in the 12th post especially when you want to set the pace. but, good to see him not get the lead and still crush that field. big win.

I wonder how the track was drying out, he ran quite faster than It's Tricky did earlier on the card, and I checked Alpha's Withers he was 2/5 of a second faster than that performance which returned a 90 beyer.

Was concerned when he was stuck 4 wide in the first turn but Dominguez got him settled nicely into a stalking position which seemed to cause Hansen no problems. Ratable I think so! Still think his natural speed may be his best asset if he can set the controlling pace, but now they have more options going forward depending on who enters the derby.

Interesting that the two fastest horses who may enter the Derby (Secret Circle, Hansen) Have both shown they don't need the lead to put in game performances. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds
