I wonder how the track was drying out, he ran quite faster than It's Tricky did earlier on the card, and I checked Alpha's Withers he was 2/5 of a second faster than that performance which returned a 90 beyer.
Was concerned when he was stuck 4 wide in the first turn but Dominguez got him settled nicely into a stalking position which seemed to cause Hansen no problems. Ratable I think so! Still think his natural speed may be his best asset if he can set the controlling pace, but now they have more options going forward depending on who enters the derby.
Interesting that the two fastest horses who may enter the Derby (Secret Circle, Hansen) Have both shown they don't need the lead to put in game performances. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds
