by the way, a huge hello to my man, Honch. Glad to see you back and posting!
I hope there's another mandatory rainbow 6 carryover when Gulfstream closes. Regarding last year's final day at GP, I actually posted my rationale and picks for the pk6, and hit the 10c for $3200. Thank you Ariel! That was also the last bet I've won. Haven't seen a sizeable winner in a long while. I like to think I'm just depositing into a savings account, and will cash out.... eventually.
good thread everyone. this is basically the only reason I come on this forum anymore. the rest of the sportsbetting threads have gone south.
Yes that is my good argument for betting smaller tracks. Yes, it looks like all the horses are pulling a tractor or running in slow motion. It's a crap shoot.
HOWEVER, nobody is firing away $100+ Pick 4 tickets at these smaller tracks. At SA people are literally betting $1k+ Pick 4's. So you have SO MUCH dead money at the smaller track with a lot of people betting $20> tickets. And ONE price you have a good chance at 3/4 or an insane payout.
The worst beat I've taken in awhile was about 6 months ago at Delaware. I was looking at previous results days and seen 4/5 kept hitting every time a single price won. I said hmm I'll take a shot. I hit $79 horse...then $49... then $3... then $13... going into the last race I'm alive with two horses 8/5 and 9/1. I figured I had to be the only ticket alive. I was going to run to bank and bet $1000 to win on the 3/1 choice...as I figured the only way I could possibly lose is extremely rare if the 3/1 won and someone had alive ticket. I didn't. The 3/1 won. 1 ticket paid $19,000 for 50 cent.
I was shocked saying to myself how could someone has really have hit that when every prior day one single price it was 4/5 paying. The 3rd leg was actually a match race...every horse scratched so it was virtually a pick 4 as that leg was "all."
But playing smaller track has +'s and -'s. You could get 2/1...2/1...2/1...2/1...and get a $500+ payout. But typically because the win pools are so low.
The dog racing I hit 8/5...2/1...7/1...and got back $440 for $1 on Pick 3.
