Must post this bad beat...

I played 6/all/all trifecta and a 6/1-2-3-4 exacta.

And I did not back it up.

A 31.2 final quarter and my horse could not get past the 26-1 shot winner coming off a layoff. Cry me a river please.

Honcho & raf: yeah, sick day.. the pick three from races 6-8 paid $14k for $1

!!!!!

Big Carryover tomorrow.. at a glance the card doesn't look like a double carry.

I may take a small stab.. very small, like ~200 or so.

Looking for Decelerator to take the Schuyerville (regardless of those summer squalls that can blow through). This would be the 8th time Lukas wins this race. Looking for odds more than 7-2 in a contentious 13 horse field. Gonna box her in exactas with Beautician and Cowgirl Mally as well.

Anyone have any other thoughts on the card?
Wish I read this earlier I would have been able to talk you off Decelerator. Decelerator beat Hot Dixie Chick in there debuts, however Hot Dixie Chick last time out broke track record at Churchill in a stakes race. That was such the obv play was Hot Dixie Chick. I hit the late double at Saratoga yesterday for $40. Also everyone knows they never run 1 mile on the dirt at Saratoga right? Last race was suppost to be 1 Mile (TURF) but was off the Turf and they only ran 7 furlongs.

Today is a nice card at Saratoga.

I'm sick I made bets in advanced for Del Mar when I left after Saratoga.

I had $1 Pick 3 at Delmar race 5.

1,8/3,4,8/3,8,6

I hit the first leg of $13.20
Second leg (I usually always play MB and TB) I used him and paid $63.40

3rd leg I got three horses...I knew it had to be paying HUGE if I hit it I had 5:1 and 30:1 last leg I had 3 - 13:1 not sure on other odds. 3 leading entire way around and then what a photo finish I lose right at the wire. I had two my horses on the wire and get split by the #1.

Pick three with 20:1 last leg paid $13k I believe. Del Mar huge prices...just play Michael Baze and Tyler Baze you will catch nothing but bombs.

Also in that race what I seen was kinda interesting...Kenneth McPeek and Steven Asmussen what angles they look for its amazing.

Kenneth McPeek had #10 and #7. #10 comes off the pace and #7 is big sprinter. So Kenneth McPeek was trying to send #7 out to burn out #1 Hot Dixie Chick then have #10 come from off the pace. What does Asmussen do? He puts in Hot Dixie Chick incase she gets burned out...has #2 as well which was big closer.

How the race kinda ran out...but #1 didn't get burned out and #10 was comming too late and no match for winner.

wow i never knew this was on two plus. i am a winning horse player but i make spot plays i do not bet every race. I will bet maybe 3 to 4 races a week and about 6-8 hue bets a year. (last one was rachel in the preakness). I study many hours including the DRF --RAGS-- and my on pace lines. I do very well in cards and horses but i put in a lot of time. Opinions on Moutaineer this weekend. My next big bet will be there.

I do not bet synthetic nor do i bet turf. Way to many variables involved.

Can someone please talk me into not taking RA in the haskell?? I just hate odds on favorites. Here's my rationale so far: sometimes when a horse wins their last races by wide margins, the next race that they are actual tested on they won't be ready for it and don't have the competitive experience when the horses are vieing right next to them late. Sound good? Anything else I can use for an excuse?? She's a philly? Is that a good reason not to bet her? Hhaha.

Welcome! I look forward to your insights!

I decided to go very small on the pick six @ Del Mar, a laughable little ticket.

3) 1
4) 1-4-7
5) 3
6) 5-7
7) 4-7
8) 10-11

24 Combinations x $2 = $48

Good Luck

EDIT: That first leg, I wasn't even close! LOL.. I fail @ DMR so bad!!!

If you are going to play against her I say go very cheap. RA is said to only be getting stronger this summer and the track bias should suit her well.

I plan on betting small and cheering on the girl champ.

My brother is very good friends with Mike Watchmaker from DRF. Dunno if he spoke to him or not but I texted and asked for ML odds for Haskell and he texted me the ML odds for Haskell are followed (Which will be posted on DRF.com in about day or two.

Duke of Mischief, 15-1
Summer Bird, 7-2
Papa Clem, 12-1
Munnings, 3-1
Atomic Rain, 10-1
Rachel Alexandra, 4-5
Bunker Hill, 30-1

TheWalk if you wanna bet against RA just don't bet the race. There is no reason to try and "beat" a 4/5 which should win for fun, if the favorite looks so good which by all means she does then you either use her or pass on the race. I mean 1-5 you ofcourse can't even mess with RA but 3-5 or higher IMO is a play. I hate favorites too but 3-5 isn't that bad of a price on RA, you probably won't see higher odds than that on her in future.

I don't think Munnings has a chance...however, Summer Bird would be the only horse IMO that can beat Rachel. But Rachel doesn't lose Sunday.

Thoughts on rachel. I bet the biggest bet of the year on her in the preakness which if I followed the ragozins straight would of never played. But two things i know fro sure about that preakness. 1) any speed was not good. the pace was blazing and the pace lines made by Moss and others is way off. That is why Big Drama ran a 0 by the rags in his next race and rachel ran another 0. Now as for this race. I will not be betting BUT I hate horses out of 3 horse fields such as Munnings and Summer Bird is just flat out slow. His 1 1/2 race was not really that good and was setup due to a premature move by borel which made for an incredible internal fraction for the 5th quarter causing the race to collapse. Charitable Man who had no shot in the belmont also added to the pace causing dunkirk mine that bird and charitbale man to run a very fast internal while summer bird just sat and waited thus making the final 1/4 so slow. Great ride Kent. Rachel is by far the horse to beat but at 3/5 she is not worth the price and at 3-1 and 7/2 munning and summer bird are underlays. a great watching race. BTW super horses do not gallop out in 1:18 in workouts and that is what rachel did. I think that is rachel's only negative. For someone trying to make money in horse racing this is an unbettable race. now moutaineer is very interesting.

Oh man, I hear you!

I havent hit a pick six since the switch.

I have made some money here and there but, I sooo much preferred the dirt ovals.

I can't stay away from the SoCal circuit though.. the horizontal exotic pools are too good to pass up, imo.

Hello and welcome to the HR thread.

My biggest bet of the year was same as you and it was a big win ticket on RA, as long I live I will never forget it. I was in OTB nervous standing in the corner along while all my friends were in the other room. They had both feeds of the Preakness from NBC and Pimiclo they kept saying nobody won from the 13 post its been 80+ years etc. NBC was on a 10 second delay it was so funny. So when they were running once I heard Dave Rodman "she's got her ears up precked looking around 5/8ths to go." I then realized that was true and it looked like she had plenty of left. 1:44-1:47 when Borel tapped her once at the top of the stretch and she drew off I knew it was all over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDzt6mD8048

I think Rachel Alexandra is a good bet @ 4-5 it will be a MAJOR upset if she does lose. I don't see her lose against this field she is in tremoudous shape and ready to run. Borel is just way to confident on this horse every single time he has rode her...I mean in the Preakness he said "Even if we went around again they still wouldn't have caught us." Rachel was changing leads and even after gallup out Mine That Bird still didn't pass Rachel. Borel knows this horse so well by now and really has never been tested in a long time.

But let's not get happy because I highly doubt anyone will be betting Rachel Alexandra. There is probably 0% chance that she will be 4-5 or higher. IMO she goes off 1-5 in this race there will just too much damn money bet on her. Everyone who won in the Preakness with her and every girl in the world will be jumping on board. I wish Borel came forward and let us know he has $50K to win LOL probably does.

Just one thing about Borel he is gonna get caught when he trys to pull a Dominguez trying to look under and give the horse a hand ride. Just like in the 07' Preakness the reason that Street Sense lost was because in deep stretch Borel thought he was home free and looked around and got caught by Curlin. Best thing to do that Dominguez does now is he looks at the TV screen. I hate the celebration before the race is over.

But I think it would be a huge overlay on Rachel at 3-5 or higher...I know how crazy it sounds but this horse is a monster and won't lose. Plus you will never get another decent price on this horse. So this will be your last chance to jump on board at 4-5. But won't be that price so let's not get our hopes up. Just to watch the race @ 1-5 I will bet $100 and to cheer, but 3-5 or higher I will make a nice win ticket.

Also since I am in love with Rachel Alexandra and she made me plently of money Preakness day, I think she is the best horse and I really don't think she loses Sunday either way.

Gonna be great to watch Mine That Bird be dead last turning for home at Mountaineer...that stretch is sooooooooooo long and we are going to see a nice stretch by MTB plus good camera view they give you at Mountaineer.
