Very expensive yearling purchase (particularly for a filly) has the look of a quick one. Her mom (My Miss Storm Cat) was one of the quickest young fillies i've ever seen, and her 3yo half-brother Albergatti (also trained by Asmussen) showed a ton of speed in his debut as well. As for her recent drills, she appeared to outwork a pair of unraced barnmates in her final prep for this, and was also the fastest worker (by a good margin) from five gate workers on July 12. Suspect this filly will take some catching here.
I can add a lil info to this race.. I agree with DC, the #3 horse is def the looks of a fine filly and will most likely jog today if shes right, but her main contender is Bargain Blitz.. In BB's most recent race, a MSW @CD, the horse that ran 3rd in there (Tavern on the Bay) is a pretty weak filly. I know this cos my good friend owns the filly. After that CD race, my friend shipped his horse to charlestown where TOB stilll couldnt break her maiden, she pressed and finished 3rd. Shes just not that good of a filly IMO... So imo this discounts Bargain Blitz's race quite a bit, proving she didnt beat much in there. Now, they are 2YO's so they can improve dramatically between starts, but i see this as a good spot to jump on DC's horse.. She may go off the fav, but bargain blitz wills surely take enough tote to make it worth our while.
Also in the Schylerville, theres a horse shippin in from CD that my buddys horse(TOB) ran 3rd to that will b takin some tote action.. Im playin against that 1 as well
