"Uncle Mo has a (gastrointestinal) tract infection.” Trainer Todd Pletcher said Uncle Mo has begun treatment and that, as of now, he is still be pointed toward the May 7 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I)

Read more: http://www.bloodhorse.com

So let's say Pletcher declares Uncle Mo healthy and fit for the Derby.

Are you ready to climb back on board? What might this do to the odds?

I'm starting to get the feeling they are going to find anyway to declare Moe unhealthy for the Derby.

LOL,awesome Kev....DC exactly, good looking out for us.....Simon mentioned it last saturday after the egg UM laid, they would look for an excuse, which i agreed with because it seems to be the m o (no pun intended),anymore to try and retain value for the breeding shed. Why cant a horse just get beat anymore? Beyond me,and yes i think UM still has a shot for sure, but its breeding doesnt suggest that UM would like more than 1 mile,BUT he does like the Churchill Downs track.

I gave this one out on my site today, and it holds a special place in my heart....Go DC!

Santa Anita - Race 1

#2 Son de America (6/1 ml)

I think this might be the first Discreet Cat offspring i've seen. But anyway, this Marcelo Polanco filly has reportedly been training pretty sharply for this, and note that Polanco is using a rider that he's 1-for-3 with, as opposed to his other entrant, with whom he's using a rider that's apparently new to him. Wouldn't surprise me if the Discreet Cat runners turn out to be precocious (as he certainly was), and i think this one looks as strong as anything else in here, at what looks to be a pretty solid price. Good value.

Also, $51k carryover in .50 pick five at Keeneland friday and $27k carryover in .50 pick five at Gulfstream. Gulfstream will be a late post time of 3pm EST first post.

The fifty cent pick five is sweeping the nation. Hollywood Park and Calder are going to be offering it at just 15% takeout. Belmont Park will be offering it as well but, be wary of the lofty 26% takeout. Monmouth Park will offer it again with just 15% takeout, it is the best value on the wagering menu there.

Also, check this out.. a racing documentary will be airing on PBS May 5th.

a lot of good racing today.

I'm intrigued by the Arkansas Derby, obviously to see if The Factor is legit, but I also think there could be some serious value if The Factor doesn't come through.

I'm leaning toward keying on JP's Gusto. I think he bounces back after a mediocre race last time out, but those are just my preliminary thoughts. anybody capping that race?

Had a $5 W on the winner there Cardiff Giant Vet,about the only thing i did right this weekend lol......Tackleberry has made me over $700 so far this yr,just dont like the weather tonight, different track,so not going big especially at 5-2,but going $50 W on Tackleberry.

So fellas who's the KY Derby favorite now? Exactly, imo,Dialed in and MMM that i said 6 weeks ago still look the ones to beat. Im not counting UM out just yet because i know he loves the Churchill Downs surface.

LOL Simon,exactly my point....20 names,1 dart,throw!

Story up about the hero John Shear on Thoroughbredtimes.com now,he is going home today from the hospital,GREAT GREAT news. He was the 90 yr old SA employee who threw himself in front of a loose horse in the paddock to shield a young girl from extreme danger, and he did. He took a butt kicking, but is still ticking. God Bless John, you sir are a true hero, and from what i have read a fierce holdem player.
