Santa Anita - Race 1

#3 Scantily Clad (8/1 ml)

Interesting situation here. This European import turned back into a downhill race last time after running okay in a two-turn stakes, and broke well from the rail (the comment line in the Racing Form is incorrect), but that's when things got messed up. The rail is a hard enough place to break from on the downhill course, but this filly ended up having to taken back due to a riderless horse that had come over to get in her way, then she caught inside tracking the leader while the loose horse basically ran interference for the entire way. Finally she was able to make her move up the inside as the loose horse drifted out late (and interfered with another horse rallying outside, btw), but she was still in pretty tight and just never got to show her best stuff. Still wasn't beaten by a while lot, draws a better post here and clearly figures to move forward here with a clean trip, perhaps way forward. Excellent value.

No idea why they chose to take her so far back today. I really expected her to be forwardly-placed. Pretty strange. Went off @ 8/1 btw, so at least there was no problem with the price.

PS - Sorry about the typos.

Well my take on the Big Cap is this....First off congrats to Ms.Sutherland and her victory, dont let anyone tell you you cant do something because you are a woman,i like this about her. I also am in the minority i am sure, and believe the stewards got it right. I think as CS described it right after the races end,and watching the replay several times she was right on. As for BB "coaching" her what to say the 2nd phone convo with the stewards, what the hell is he suppose to do? Thats the name of the game, and who knows what BB actually said to her,i wasnt within ear shot.

Victor has every right to feel hosed thats for damn sure, but not from the stewards imo,but from Twirling Candy and Joel Rosario. To me,it was just a case of wrong spot wrong time situation,he rode a nice race, and Setsuko ran his butt off,got slammed, and dug in again, very impressive. Again i know i am going to be in the minority here, but i just do not like Joel Rosario.

Now also it said CS was "upset, and hurt" by the fans booing her and BB,the winners portion of a Big Cap victory should help. Maybe take a c-note and dry your eyes, and another and get a little thicker skin. Where you expecting the fans to buy you an ice cream? I dont get that comment. You sure as hell didnt see Gomez "pout" when NO ONE would acknowledge him in the winners circle last year at the BC classic,he understood why,and acted accordingly.

I agree. CS and Game on Dude did nothing wrong. Twirling Candy was the horse in the wrong. Game on even got headed and came back to win and he got knocked around pretty good himself. The best horse won.

Agree with all of the above comments, I had the wrong Baffert horses on my ticket.. (Spurrier & First Dude)... but, best horse won for sure.

GULFSTREAM PARK .10 Rainbow Six (sucket bet i know.. but, small investment and even though it's not a jackpot attempt, 6 of 6 can still pay high 3 digits, low 4 digits on the cheap)

6) 4-8-10
7) 7-8-9
8) 5
9) 4-7-10-12
10) 2-4-5-7
11) 2-11-12-13

first dude is still eligible for non winner of 2 allowance maybe Bob needs to find a spot so he can learn how to win
like a dummy i used game on and setsuko underneath i should have chased moer EV

I think so but, its a small field of older horses, not really a good betting opportunity, imo.

DI exposed in a short field. I dont take much from this race,it didnt appear that JL had DI in a comfortable spot throughout. I consider this more of a workout, and as fickle as some cappers are (hope, hope) his odds just get that much better come Florida Derby day and beyond.

This may seem counter-intuitive on the surface but, i'm 2 for 2 in rainbow six and singled in this 3rd leg.. however, the track has gotten wet and although Tapit's are okay on off tracks.. i think that there is value in the late pick four if he doesn't take to it. So much so, that i'm wagering more $ AGAINST my original play! Our job as horseplayers is to find spots to make money.. not to be stubborn.

GULFSTREAM PARK .50 late pick four

8) 2-4-7-8
9) 9-10-12
10) 2-4-8
11) 2-11-12-13
