You like 9 and 12 in first leg?

Here's a pick three backup then!

9-12 / 1-2-3 / 2-5-10 Cost $18

New Total $243

I'm kind of p'd at myself. I had a bunch of horses going into that race 9 and kept telling myself that the 10 was going to win. I should have hedged and bet the 10 but the thought never crossed my mind.

I know this isn't popular on this site but I would like to ask everyone to say a prayer for jockey Rene Douglas who at this time is paralyzed from a spill at Arlington yesterday. It is unsure if it is permanent but in all probability it will be. Rene was an awesome jockey and an even better person who I had the pleasure to meet a few times at Saratoga. My prayers go out to him and his family for his health and their future. peace

wanted to go for p6 @ hollywood today but the field in every race is too wide open and a ticket with any reasonable chance of winning would cost me a fortune. here's a fantasy ticket for lol's sake:

5) 1,13
6) 2,3,6,8
7) 2,4,6,7
8) 2,3,5
9) 1,4
10) 5,8

$768 imaginary ticket.

btw what's the reasoning behind making P6 tickets $2? Seems to discourage recreational bettors (like me) from playing them vs a $1 p3/p4 ticket.

I think it is Steveb Crist in Exotic betting who gave a good explaination: carryovers.

He explained he was all for the fact that the P6 remained at 2$ because if it was set at 1$ or even at 10c like the SF a lot more people would play a lot of combinations and the carryovers that make this ticket so interesting would cease to exist.

(my first post! what an emotion! )

Wow, I really hate to hear that. And you're right, Rene is a really cool guy. I wish him and his family all the best. I met him a few years back when he came down and rode a few at The Fair Grounds. Almost 20yrs of throwing crosses and switching sticks caught up with me one day too. And fwiw, about that same time I found poker (and 2+2) and I never knew you guys where here. lol As well, I can count on one hand the times I've either MYSELF bet on a horse or touted my friends to. So for me to be gambling EVERYDAY is the biggest surprise in all my friends lives! (Both of them! lol) That being said, I think I should add that betting the horses is -ev.

Having said THAT, I think I should add that Calvin "Boo Boo" Borel WILL MAKE HISTORY! I've known him since he started riding and if anybody deserves something like this, it's Boo.

GL at the windows

This really sucks. Rene is a highly underrated jockey. Here's hoping they find a miracle.
