Honcho- any top 3 for Jim dandy day or picks you like? I’m in Saratoga tonight with a friend and getting lit / trying to meet girls now. Looked at the card and it looks kinda difficult. Don’t see many upsets in the late p4 but it’s Saratoga. Think EQ is a single (even though graveyard of champions and may include weyburn) Along with thinking the pace may be swift for the Vanderbilt. I like whitmore slightly however he may have lost a step so would prolly include some early pace. Turf- who knows looks like slow pace but kinda hate channel cat so like the other 5-6 who aren’t bottom 2 (pletcher horse and another that isn’t chad brown)

JK been doing summer here man missed this hope you scored well with the ladies hell your at Toga throw a few wagers in so you have a few tickets in your pocket and chase tail man! LADIES

The extent of my expert handicapping was this for Friday thru Sunday i played ALL Maker horses to WP in NY and i played all Callaghan horses at Del Mar WP and only caught the replays after checking my account balance. Saw the pattern develop and i mean you can beat the chit out of yourself in this game and say it was not in the PP's meaning the winner and your right PP's are indicative of past performances not future results learned to accept this relying more on physicality especially Maidens but back on point you could see the pattern and these barns are running crazy hot right now so i mean it is throw away $$ because it was not in the PP's being a bullheaded hating money fool or accept the pattern and profit off it i finally learned to do the latter.

I wanted to post a small trip report and advise everyone itt to check out Saratoga if you get the chance. Great place to drink, eat great food, wager at the track, etc. idk how someone could not find some positive aspect of Saratoga they could enjoy. Even just the scenery + great summer weather along with a very positive vibe from everyone makes Saratoga a summer treasure spot to me.

Ok so on to the races- I handicapped using my brisnet pps and looked very hard into each race. Hated the card. The stakes races were annoyingly tough and didn’t like EQ at 1/5 or 2/5 in a race with 5 horses where I could see a pace horse taking them all the way (look at the keeneland race where he really had to dig deep at end to beat a chad brown horse that got a slow lead in a race with almost no pace). Ok so first, have 2 friends with me and a buddys gf. First- race 3 I tell people we got a very good bet in the #1. You get a 1 and 1A horse with the top 2 rated horses in the race and you get a fast early horse along with a closer w/ irad (IMO best jockey in NY now). Ok so we get maybe 3/5 and I tell friends to hammer bet. They don’t listen to me and just bet to win while I go W/P. The #1 ends up losing his jockey out of the gate so we have the 1A only. Well the 1 leads the field all around and wins the race without a jockey lol. Obv he doesn’t win once the jock is off but this sets up a perfect scenario for the 1A to close and he just gets up at the end for a nice early small chalky win.

Ok so later on, I’m play a S horse in a turf race (wanna say #5) that ends up closing into a slow pace and wins a 7-1. Another turf maiden- I bet a kittens joy with Jose Ortiz (Claude mcgahey trained) horse that to me is great value. He ends up closing another slow race and wins. I normally play chalk so this was very exciting even though I was betting fairly small for my normal sizing with races I think I handicap wel and a horse has huge edge.

End up going kinda meh late day. Fade EQ with the #3 who I expect to get lead with irad however horse runs around 3rd or 4th and tails off and somehow EQ wins. Player whitmore in the Vanderbilt. Expect the pace to be hot which it is and he makes a nice run at the end but just not able to get there. Didn’t expect lexitonian to win- sadly didn’t include in my p5s and p4. Make my biggest bet of day in turf with the chad brown horse from Chile that looked kinda meh in his first race where he started poorly and tracked all race at Belmont into a slow pace. Ok so horse goes out 4th and just chases until he fades which was a bummer. Saw somewhere he ran like 45-46 for last 4 furlongs in a group race in Chile so was hopeful he may have just needed a prep at Belmont and would fire for chad brown- was very wrong and initial hunch that we right ok Chile turf horses not being the reap deal. Still happy, would rather bet a longer shot than channel maker or channel cat at chalky prices and they both don’t finish well in the race. Made like $200-300 at the track in person with my win/place bets so great day. Sadly bet like $400 on my TVG account into p4s and a pick 5 ticket that just were crushed early in each sequence.

Final note- the food in Saratoga is amazing. Went to Morton’s steakhouse at the casino. Got a waygu filet that was excellent. Would recommend Saratoga to even just a foody looking to try new food. We wanted to check salt and char out but booked long ago. Also druthers is great for beer + bar type food (went Friday night). May try to stop drinking after trip also. Ended up drinking way too many beers on Friday night and got maybe 5 hours of sleep prior to the track day. Also drank a large amount of beer at the track. Got a pic with friends where I look bloated and chubby lmao. Couldn’t even post it to my social media accounts bc I found it embarrassing. All in all, Saratoga is a great summer spot to check out!

I ate at Morton’s (at the casino) and it was pretty solid. I’ve heard good things of salt and char (hard to get reservation now), 32 church, etc. druthers is solid for beer and bar type food. Btw def check out the nightlife if you like that type of thing- my only advice is get somewhere before 9 and choose that place as your stay place. At 9pm bars were packed and started charging covers.

Have a good time! Saratoga was on steroids from what I remembered. I was shocked when bars were 100% at 9pm which is early for bars I feel in upstate ny. Also I recommend checking out the rooftop bar at the city tavern early if you can. Went there with a friend at 5pm on a Friday and got to sit on the rooftop while drinking a beer which won’t happen at night (packed). Have a good time colt and good luck with the horse betting! The Whitney looks like a great betting race for only having 5 horses. I didn’t even go out Saturday night due to boozing so hard Friday and Saturday at the track which was a mistake on my part.

Btw honcho, ended up meeting up with a girl I went on a date with many years back (that actually went well). I feel she maintained looks while I got a little chubbier (haha) and she wasn’t feeling me at all. Ended up leaving her to hang with friends but yea that kinda sucked.

Saratoga 8/7/21

6.) 3-11-5
7.) 3-5-7
8.) 7-5-2
9.) 6-4-11
10.) 4-5-2

The card today by my eye is excellent at Toga. The 7F G1 Test i was capping and damn near every horse was the right answer and anxious for that race most today.

Knicks Go i just think Joel hits the front runs like he is on fire and see if its enough because this Maxfield is no joke and Silver State and BA chasing history i mean forget about it and not to mention SS trying to beat the boys and nothing would make me happier but just not sure what style she uses to compete today against this field.

BOL to all playing today and as always those are your 3 to fade

Very tough card today. Whitney- I honestly could see any of the 5 winning however I slightly downgrade swiss skydiver as this wasn't even in the game plan- shes not going to outrun knicks go. Maybe she can stalk and knicks go is empty but doubtful.

Not a fan of what happened today in Race #6 just now. Chad brown has 2 horses- #3 loses a shoe so they let the horse run for purse money only. I bet #5 flavius hard and the horse wins easily. Price shoots from 5/2 to 6/5 after they decide the #3 can only run for purse money. Call me crazy but just not fair.

Ouch had a rough day today. Had domestic spending and the euro in the mister d. Not sure if anyone saw race but yikes they went 26 for a quarter (very slow pace for a horse that is loose on lead) and domestic spending couldn't catch 27-1 horse. As always not sure why i play the game.

Had live chalky picks to a single in the last race with a P7/P6/P5 and a few p4 tickets. They weren't going to pay anything bc it was such a chalk fest but still annoying to have the most leg i was most confident in lose.

Played a late p4 at toga also with a single in the first. Horse ends up scratching in the walking ring so i get the coupled entry who i just keep and they lose. Was ok though bc obv didn't have get stormy in the 4stardave. I give props to people that hit p4 and p5s that actually pay multiple k. Not sure how people can find 2 horses that pay $20+ in a p4 and keep ticket cost down.

Spoiler: they don't!

P5s and P6s feel like the purest form of handicapping but are so tough because there's bound to be 1 or 2 races on the card where inside info gives huge edge that you can't devine from past performances and you're SOOL if you don't have it.

Sure I guess? Or you can handicap a few races well and spread in other legs and hope for bombs.
