The weather looks great going forward (very small chance of rain). Any chance the track becomes good later in the day before derby?

12-5/15

.5 $90

Would love if i get to turf classic/ derby. Feel confident in the first two legs but the last 2 will be tough to get through. Also have one with masochistic and denmans call. not a fan of masochistic but hoping he deserves to be favorite in a race that seems to be lacking pace. GL everyone

17-15 up top with 13 & 7 in all exotics and at these prices what a bargain, 16 if the track is muddy [so it's not yet].

The arm candy is on 5 and she is surprisingly lucky, although betting a co-fave probably isn't luck but maybe it is at a good price.

Seriously, put $2 on 13 atb just in case. Out of Mineshaft, can go the distance on both sides, excellent trainer, 2nd fastest Beyer, wide open race. ML 20-1 now 45-1. sick value.

need 5,14,15,17 to win for my tris to have a chance. Going to have a good day if mccracken or always dreaming win bc i have them as final leg in p3 and oaks/derby double. Urgh though need a lot to go right.

The track looks like ****. Honestly think anyone can win. Hating the weather pattern this weekend. GL everyone. Will bet more for win/place when i see horses.

The pace scenario has me clueless. One real E horse with a bunch of pressers. If they go 47 for half, i feel E/EP are favored. So clueless to what happens with a 20 horse field here. They have to go semi fast at slowest imo. GL EVERYONE

I goofed. the whole time i thought always dreaming was easy #1 spot in tri or super. Instead of going deep in 2 and 3, i go deep in one of of the spots and lose out on 4k. Stupid me. I went 2/3 on 2 $33 tickets.

I guess i have to be more confident in certain spots. I still made maybe 200-300 dollars which i never do by hitting p3, double of oaks/kd, and win/place bet that were kinda small.

I'm sorry but again this game is too tough. I think he will win the preakness but not sure about belmont. Horse racing is a tough game with too much rake paid. Coming from a drunk guy, even on winning days this is a tough game.

My man we all feel like this i mean except for making mistakes on bets we never do that those hurt BUT a horse player has the constitution to see it to the end and i shall.

My day? Did you see Snow Chiefs run? Well i wish i went as well Tough day and if that dealer from Vegas Vacation would of made me the offer of a junk punch and only lose $300 i would of took it

Had the #5 on top never had #1 anywhere on any ticket and they say that's important on all exotics...you can try writing in the number after but the gals at the window are pretty sharp and not as funny a reaction as one might think.

Glad you got that horse home prickly i went a different direction and cost me believe he was #16 and looked great on track but so many did hard going just off physicality and when paper has a lot of right answers also makes for rough decisions.

Well going to rub some dirt on it and get after it today to damn dumb here not too and will be playing somewhere. It was an awesome read to see all the faces who came to the thread yesterday and give their plays and ideas. Chalk this yr? Good Grief no way i thought that.

I really stunk at building bets yesterday. I went back and realized I had the winner in all but 2 of the stakes races. Just built terrible bets around them. And walked away with a pretty big loss.

I can handle the 4 of 5 pick five and 3 of 4 pick four those happen all of the time.

It seems to me that I become too afraid of small wins on these days. Wins I'll take the other 361 days of the year I try to avoid and try and hit the big win on the big day. I need to be smarter.

So i broke out prep replays and looked for "it". Settled on two $1 tri tickets in my usual style- one super bomb long ball and one "chalky"..

19 w 1,3,5,7,12,20

5 w 1,3,7,12,19,20

As they're coming home my ****ing heart (of a lion) is pounding as the #5 hits the gas and pulls away and the race plays out like I thought it might for Toddy Pletch'.. and I squint and dart my eyes back to the #1... yes!!!! ... in my half drunken stupor, I believe I see the 12 strolling in for 3rd and am already thinking about the wad of hundo's that's coming my way and the obligatory blow bag to celebrate a 5k score.. hell, my mind immediately ponders that if it's over 6k I can swing a vegas trip next month to play 2/5 and maybe a WSOP event or two, because I certainly deserve it for behaving this year and I have a paperclipped 5k stack coming to the ole' pocket.

We all know what happens next. My heart instantly sinks when #11 is posted third and i recheck my ticket 60 times. I even throw it in the machine at the OTB just in case it's all a big mistake.

Nope. I'm sick to my stomach I was live with the 3,7,12,19,20 for third but only the 19 was even in the vicinity of third... waaaaaaah wahhhhhhh.

Johnny V stiffs AD in the Preakness and a bomb comes in up top in two weeks? I can only hope....

First time Ive layed a complete egg in the Derby. After spending the entire morning constructing bets, finally ripped my paper up and went at it easy hoping for the bombs to come in. My final play: $2 exacta 17/All. $0.50 trifecta 17/all/all. $100 place #14. Really thought about scaling back as my confidence in and coming up with a winner so late is not my usual pattern in the Derby. I actually took a long walk early in the week. At some point during that walk my brain said "Why isn't Always Dreaming your Derby horse? You bet him in the Fl Derby. His movement in that race was the most visual impressive you've seen". Feeling hung around for a while, but his aggressive behavior helped me bury that. Besides; history has found me almost always being against a short price Pletcher, while liking one of his other ones. This year, Battalion Runner would have been that horse. After being outworked by a turf horse, this should have been another sign. Told my wife every day-playing against McCraken and Always Dreaming, but Always Dreaming scares me. He either finishes 17th or wires the field by a big margin. Big race from Looking at Lee and Battle of Midway. I definitely would not have used the #! but liked the #11. I will be curious to see where they run Battle of Midway going forward. He definitely can carry that speed a while. Nice race by the winner. Definitely not the Bodemeister colt I envisioned making a run for the roses.

For sure JK not sure that came across in my post but just could see your mounting frustration from a few post back about sports betting etc so was trying to get you to see WE were all in that boat Saturday as you can tell from the bad beat post (and thanks fellas those did cheer me up some )

The Monday Tuesday dark days are so we can regroup rethink rewhatever we going to re and come Wednesday our competitive spirit is capping at 6am i mean we horse players we a certain type of dumb. We play a sport that is managed by our ex wife's it appears and the stewards work as her atty's,then there is the rake i mean we wanted 50/50 we would bet sports ML's but we horse players and again that puts us in a certain section of smart....We hear Randy Moss and do not think straight up cash homie BUT pace figures. What ya going to do. Keep posting JK is what i am saying my man you see it well and your opinion is always valued itt by us all.

Sluss also i hear ya BUT we only get a few spots each year that those insane kind of odds appear and we have to make insane bets to match.

C'mon Wednesday

Any other betting sites with a solid derby promo other than twinspires, nyra, and tvg?
Xpressbet worked good for me with the $125 promo. Promo credits posted next day to account. It turned out as someone mentioned they reimburse past performance purchases (not the lens tool though). Good interface and customer service so far

Oaks/Derby p6 price conflict is moot as 1 had it, thought for a moment when wording that. #5 played to that outcome. Shame not to say, this is how it goes down if.
Oh well enjoyed/was driven bats by how good the sequences were and the pays reflected the overlays. Those two days take forever to come around and go by in a flash.
