why is it that the west coast horses always have to prove themselves. They have to give weight, they have to travel. This is just one more time they ask Mr. Hollendorfer to do for them? Blind luck has traveled each time and gave weight. He has a plan set for next year and she is up two wins. She has nothing more to prove.

That being said, dont be surprised if blind luck gets beat saturday. The opening weekend at santa anita always has a fast track. I have respect for ask the moons connections to come over for the prize and the respect. Dont be surprised if those two are beat by zazu. Its her best track. Good luck. Bet that tri box

i think i agree with this. i really like Ask The Moon in this 1. She's been on great form last few times out. although i think Ultra Blend will be in the mix too. so that could be the superfecta.

also i like Acclamation in the Goodwood S at Santa Anita on saturday. He doesn't get enough respect. He ran awesome in the Pacific Classic and really owned Game on Dude. should be interesting to see if Coil rebounds from the Travers.

Im interested in seeing coil's rebound, as well. had him to win in the travers and he ran like a 10000 claimer. Looked great at MTH, though, so I couldnt believe how out of it he was in SAR. Saratoga is a tricky track, so I hope the Travers is just a "throw away" race, and Coil goes back to being a top contender.

TheWalk - Coil is def interesting and could go off at longer odds in this one. Horses that are coming off a poor showing are often underbet and sometimes very underbet in their next race. could get some really great value here. He's much better than that showing at SAR.

Santa Anita - Race 5

#11 Sentry Duty (6/1 ml)

Really impressed with this horse when i looked at the replay of his last race. Broke well but was taken back to stalk along the inside, and was pretty much buried down there until the stretch run, when he moved up from behind the wall while appearing to have some run, then squeezed through a tight opening along the rail and was dead-game down the stretch despite racing in very tight quarters. No quit in this guy at all. Making it even more impressive is that the time of this race was quite strong, and it stacks up pretty well against that of the 5/2 ml favorite Field Report, whom it should be noted was unable to pass either of the two horses in front of him down the stretch, despite racing in the clear (and @ odds of 3/5). Note that Sentry Duty now moves to the outside after getting stuck down on the rail (in traffic), and should get a much better trip this time. Excellent value on this guy; think he ranks right up there with the favorite.

good stuff DiscreetCat. thanks for the post.

pretty much lost 2 coinflips last 2 races - 1 for 2nd last race and 1 for the win the previous race. should be due some better luck at least. and yeah real strong in the stretch - love to see that.

Poor performance by Sentry Duty; finishes off the board.
