I can handle losing races by a nose, it happened in back to back races last week on the two turf races of my p5. Not like it would've mattered b/c my single in the 8th missed, but the 6th race today (1m turf) was atrocious. The favorite I was fading got to coast 24.7 first quarter 5 lengths in front of a blob of horses some going 4wide. Two of my picks with more gas lost by a nose and a head, whose jockeys apparently thought the race was 1 1/8m.

WTG Kev,this is getting to be a regular thing for you at Turfway my friend, well done .

Vet think your still doing ok after your last score, but love the frustration, seriously, sounds like me,its not the $20 its how the race shook out,i wasnt wrong,it just didnt turn out right

Walk, long over due apology for jumping your case about the whipping of RA last year, believe it was her last race in 09. I also like your new horse slogan, maybe to much like the NBA's but " I hate this game" is poetic and too true

Haha yeah, this is the first time I've been upset over a race's results and it had little to do with $ involved. I think it was the element of gross human error which you normally don't deal too much with here, usually when your picks get bumped or fail to corner you're just like "lol horses" Anyway, my handicapping hobby fund is sitting fine after that mild p9 score so I'll just keep chasing carryover pools with small tickets that maximize fun.

I'm not so sure that was me regarding the whipping of RA??

So far, we've had a decent back-and-forth on this forum, i think

And if it was me, then I have totally forgotten about it. So, no sweat.

"I hate this game" -- should I patent that saying??

Question here, So yesterday I was at Emerald Downs for the last day of the season. I made some small bets on trifectas and superfectas, I also did an imaginary early pick 4, going into the 4th race I was still alive but one of the two horses I had for that race scratched, in that case does it go to the pre-race favorite? and what if there are two favorites? because two horses were going off at 2-1, thank you~!

I also had my best bet yet where I hit a trifecta, exacta, and a place bet all on one race =) wohoo!

At most tracks you get the post time favorite. Even though both horses were 2:1, one of them was slightly favored. You'd have to look at the win pool totals.

If the scratch was early, it would be a refund, a late scratch is usually post time favorite unless you had a substitution marked on your ticket. I dont think any ADW outlets have this option but, most on-track sites do.

RA retired? The correct move, IMO. Good thing O'Neill didn't train her, otherwise we would have seen her in a $2000 claimer at Los Al.
