Guy A at work ran a $50 square.

Guy B wins final score and reverse final for $3,000

Guy B receives his $3,000 and doesn’t tip a penny.

Guy A gets annoyed and texts guy B to tell him he’s surprised he didn’t get a tip

Guy B responds “LOL, I split it 3 ways. The other 2 already got their money but I’d be happy to take you out for drinks”

What do you think of this situation and tipping in pools? I always tip 10% no matter what.

I never expect a tip and have turned them down when I hit anything. Do you tip Guy A even if he binks one?

Guy A should be happy to go out for drinks.

Imo if he is pissed he didn't get any $ he should just charge a couple % management fee next time.

What? I've run plenty of pools and I don't expect a tip

If you expect a tip make it clear prior to running any sort of a pool...otherwise it's a fee, not a tip.

What in the world...? You're serious suggesting threatening/intimidating someone because they didn't tip you?

No, you're misunderstanding me, Prince Valiant

I don't know the guy

Take a 5-10% cut and there’s no gray are . What if the winner tipped $20?

I think expecting a tip for running a game for your mates is pretty shady. Half the point of gambling with friends/colleagues is that its neutral EV and fun.

If you're getting charged 10% vig may as well pick a bet you actually want of a bookmaker.

Why would he tip? Specially in straightforward short time gambles.

Guy A is the scumbag here, not B

yea, if it's all people you know then getting a tip is wild to expect. drinks and a bite are more than enough IMO. next year tell the group it is taking too much of your time and they all have a to pony in an extra fiver each square so you can commit to it, or they wont do it.
