It's a pity but 2p2 is generally not about the exchange of ideas anymore, the dumb recipe copypasta and the millionaires club of successful dickheads killing off new posters desire to post here stopped that a while back.
My original response to this thread stands, your entry to successful sports betting is either find some soft outs and line grind to beat closers or learn to handicap a niche sport you can get down on. I do a bit of both and have gone from a breakeven bettor betting $100 units about 5 years ago to well, not that now. The information is still out there for anyone who wants to study and grind. I've had a ton of people PM me over the past year or two and while i've given decent information in some cases most people do not want to learn and just trying to handicap and beat NFL/EPL on Pinny by themselves with no modelling experience or particular skills and get nowhere slowly.
Also, networking is way, way more important than someone new to sports betting might suspect, I make a ton more than a lot of people more talented than me at handicapping because of my ability to get down large numbers on soft outs which is again all because of networking, if you can find whales who are stuck 6-7 figures at soft outs to place bets for you for a share of the action, chances are you're going to do a lot better than the guy grinding out 1.3% edges on sharp books.
Appreciate the feedback.
Of course, 700 something isn't the world!
Just trying to stay within my budget and hopefully slowly build up to where I'll be able to make bigger wagers for bigger returns.
I have 50 on Sheffield Wed. And they are up 3 1 in the 80th minute as I'm typing this. It was a good value, even money, I'm to get 50 profit.
Now Torino needs to come through vs Bologna to make it a successful day.
In any case, poker wasn't working so I'm glad I'm here!
Yes, unfortunately, the forum has turned into an exclusive members club, a place where the successful come to brag and compliment each other.
There don't seem to be very many ideas being exchanged.
Maybe it's not so bad in the poker forums but the back slapping is definitely there.
In any case, I was just sharing what's been working for me so far.
I said right from the beginning, I'm starting out myself.
Ps. Of course I bet sports in the past but I was doing parlys.
Years ago. Parlays are for suckers.
I'm definitely looking to learn. I'll take you up on that offer.
Thanks.
