I thought Italy +0.25 @ 1.92 was a really REALLY good bet, but it closed at 1.98 I think.

Buffon
Criscito, Chiellini, Ranocchia, Maggio
De Rossi, Motta, Pirlo
Montolivo
Cassano, Rossi

Compare that squad to:

Casillas
Arbeloa, Piqué, Albiol, Iraola
Iniesta, Alonso, Martinez
Silva, Torres, Cazorla

How in gods name is Italy +0.25 at HOME justified there? Square monies?
Basically because of the public perception of the 2 teams. The squares think Italy are terrible due to their world cup performance and people will blindly bet on Spain without looking at their lineup

After a short time you ll fin d decimal odds vastly superior to fractional. Basically, multiply your stake by the odds to get your return +stake. Eg evens is 2 in decimals, you bet £10 x 2 for a £20 win including your stake. Easy

United - Tottenham tomorrow

Tottenham scored the most goals from outside the box (by far in prem) last season with 15/55 goals.

David de gea awful with long shots... So get on goals and maybe back spurs / draw

They were hyping that pretty bad on television. iirc opponents scored 11 goals from outside the box against him last season which was most in the league.

Some Bundesliga bets I like for the weekend:

Hamburg v Köln
You could say the hosts have been unlucky with the fixtures so far as they have already played Dortmund and Bayern away. That said they looked utterly pathetic for large parts of these games. They were also second best to newly promoted Hertha BSC who haven't set the world on fire either so far. The hanseats were largely uninspiring and struggling to create all game and only salvaged a point due to a penalty and a moment of genius by the young Korean Son.

The visitors showed big signs of improvements after their diabolic start to this campaign and were unlucky not to win against Kaiserslautern given the amount of high quality chances they created. For the first time the players seemed to 'get' what coach Solbakken (whom I rate the far superior manager in this upcoming match) wants from them. If they play with the same tempo again they should fancy their chances against this static and erractic HSV side.

> Köln +0.5 @ 2.06 (Pinnacle, 1*****)

Kaiserslautern v Bayern
Hosts in my opinion have clearly overachieved in 2010/11 and will face a much tougher task this time around. With Srdjan Lakic they have lost their most prolific goal scorer (16 goals) and their performances so far have echoed my concerns. Along with Augsburg I'd make them my #1 candidates for relegation and it's hard too see a repeat of their 2-0 win in this fixture last season.

Louis van Gaal was often critisized for his too attacking approach which left the defence too exposed and sometimes helpless against well set up teams which frequently hit them on the counter. That has changed under Jupp Heynckes who has a different mentality and is happy to protect a lead. While I still have doubts whether Bayern's back four is good enough to compete with the best sides in Europe they have looked very solid so far against medium quality opposition. In six competitve games the Bavarians have only conceded once and that came from a Neuer howler. I don't see the hosts troubling them too much either and while I don't see too much value in the win or AH markets I'm very keen on the visitors to keep a clean sheet again at big odds against.

> Bayern Clean Sheet @ 2.5 (Bet365)

Freiburg v Wolfsburg
Freiburg had 18 attempts on goal so far (only Schalke and Bayern have more) and with Cissé already on fire again goals won't be at a premium. Especially against Wolfsburg who have just conceded four on their last away trip. Hosts aren't without defensive woes either and I expect a really open game with both teams going for a much needed win. I feel that might favour Freiburg and I kind of like their odds but will play it safe with the over.

> Over 2.75 Goals @ 2.02 (******)

I dunno, cant see anything other than Barca win. Their domestic season still hasnt started yet so I suspect they will have a close to full team out to give them some competetive football, plus they're at home. Barca -2 are 3.5 ftw or 4.5 for the draw, I'd be more interested in those than a straight Porto win.

Doh, just seen the game is being played at a neutral venue (Monaco), however that doesn't change a whole lot for me. Porto have lost their manager and top goalscorer, think I'm gonna get some oak on the handicap, undecided on the draw or Barca tho. Lol, in the last 10 mins the draw has come down to 4.20, gonna get on that now I think.

Barca -2 goals, DRAW @ 4.20
