SPAIN U21 – RUSSIA U21
Spanish team likes to try and outplay their opponents, they prefer attacking style but their defensive line with captain De Gea is also excellent. In last nine qualification games they recieved only one goal and that gives good picture on how hard it is to score against them.
Russians will have hard time in offensive part because their best forward Kokorin is injured as well as key ofenssive players Dzagoev and Smolov. This is the first match in group, Spain won't take too much risk and I expect that Russians will have a lot of problems against spanish powerful midfield and solid defense. Russians also had problems in the qualifiers – with almost all key players on disposition they were unable to score against Albania and Portugal.

after watching most of the first games (the dutch and germans play in a little bit) it looks like it's going to be pretty stale, norway have a decent side with loads of A-team capped players and have a slim outside chance of gaining the 2nd spot if they can muster a win against a lacklustre england side that has little to no attacking bite unless zaha can perform for them.. spain will almost definitely win their group and the netherlands/germany will duke it out for the 2nd spot.. italy and (especially) spain look head and shoulders above the grade early on while the dutch team looks good on paper with a number of very talented and experienced players in their side, a lots going to be riding on the game against a germany side that i know little about other than that most of them play in the bundesliga. A couple of them are starters at decent teams and holtby is obviously class, i expect germany to be solid but have too many, at least perceived, weak links and they won't go far unless a lot of things go their way

hope to the heavens that you're right about iceland, if we win this one we're going to be in a ridiculously good position to make playoffs.. we are historically good on home soil, maybe i have selective memory but we beat italy here in 2005 i think it was, czech republic around the same time (jan koller, young rosicky, milan baros etc.) and held spain to a draw not so long ago ... obviously lost to some poor teams as well, we aren't exactly world beaters, but the icelandic team often elevate their performance by some degree at home
