Fired a little on Life -161 for Kung Fu Cup final today for a unit, gone 2-1 betting so far in this tourney over 3 spots, was really impressed with his play vs Zest and somewhat impressed vs Parting, Stats may be a PvZ specialist but haven't been as impressed with him lately, I think Life can mindgame him in a bo7 and win 4-2 or 4-3

Id have been all over Stats at these prices 3 months ago but he's not playing as well as he was and I think Life is on a form upswing at the moment

Steep vig to pay to fade Stats PvZ but I do think Life may have the best ZvP in the world right now if his form in the last few weeks is an indication. He's historically inconsistent but have a feeling he brings his best today

It helps that several match fixers were recently arrested (the two players arrested, Yoda and B4, were on the list that StarG and I and a few other posters ITT put together)

There are other players who have been involved in suspicious matches, we've discussed in thread and recommended that people take that into account if betting on or against the players

There was a bit of an epidemic about 6-10 months ago but suspicious betting activity seems a lot lower lately, i'd assume because largely due to the efforts of various posters from this thread we helped make teamliquid and the sc2 community as a whole more aware of what was going on, and after the cancelled bets/matchfixing arrests i'd assume that while match fixing is almost certainly still taking place it's on a smaller percentage of matches than it was in early 2015

Still hoping that they get the remainder of the players who likely fixed from our list of likely fixers, time will tell I guess.

Fired 0.3u on Life +1539 for WCS Global Finals, seems like a good price considering his ZvP is on point at the moment, he has an easy first round match and if he gets through Innovation in r2 (or Zest I guess) he could easily have ZvP the rest of the way, and his ZvZ is really good too on off chance he draws a zerg

Hoping to get a slightly better price on sOs as well, will play if price improves

No other plays yet but im sure ill make some

Fired a few WCS bets in so far

0.3u Life to win it all +1539
1.5u sOs -177 vs Parting
0.22u Polt +467 vs Rain
1u Life -1.5 -190 vs Lilbow

Will be adding more throughout the tournament and probably a lot of sweat bets, but I like these ones and pretty sure they're all +EV. Life has the easiest r1 match, is likely to draw Innovation in r2 who he'll be something like +180 against if Inno is bringing his A game not his 'oops I lost map one give me some money' game but then is probably at least a flip in the remaining matches. Zest could easily beat Inno in r1 too, and Zest is a slightly easier opponent for Life. Life is also a player who goes on runs of hot and cold form but at his best he's by far the best Zerg player in the world and as good as Byul is, I think Life is the only zerg with any real chance to win this tournament. If I had to put a true price on Life winning it all i'd say something like +1250 to +1300 - you could make a case that he's the 3rd or 4th favourite imo. He's certainly going to win it more often than Rain who is much shorter priced.

On form Life is probably third behind Innovation and sOs and herO and Maru are obviously in the mix too. Maru goes on runs but he's out of form and herO while consistent doesn't quite have the 'absolute best' A game - he's consistent, but at their best, sOs, Zest, Innovation, Maru and Life are all better than him. Rain is similar in that he's consistent but unless those five all have a bad day, I don't see herO or Rain winning it all often enough to justify their prices. Classic and Byul are also very talented but they face each other in r1 and I just don't see the winner taking it all unless Classic brings his absolute best - I just don't think Byul can win 4 series in a row vs this field without having the best showing of his life.

Life vs Lilbow I see going 3-1 on average, with 3-0 more common than 3-2 or any other result, Life may get cheesed/mismicro once/screw up a 9pool or something at some point but in straight up games he'll beat Lilbow and he's probably more creative in non straight up games too. I mean, Lilbow went 1-4 vs Firecake and TLO in the past fortnight, and Life just won the Kung Fu Cup vs a bunch of Korean protoss. I expect Life to outclass him thoroughly and just can't see him losing one game more than a third of the time. I think this is actually closer to -250 than -190 as the true price.

sOs vs Parting - while both have excellent A games, sOs has been playing amazingly lately and has good form in the matchup and Parting just... doesn't. I do believe Parting will win a Code S one day, or a WCS, but right now isn't the time - he's not training with the Kespa teams in Korea day in day out and has been dropping maps to weaker foreigners all over the place. I expect sOs to win at least two thirds of the time in a bo5 right now.

Polt vs Rain - Rain has better mechanics, and Polt's been out for a long time but surely he's been practicing lately with 100k on the line. Maybe 20% of the time Polt will be out of form and get blown out 3-0 playing like trash, but he always performs well under pressure and Rain doesn't always - Polt is more creative and while he's not supposed to win this, I feel like if he brings it to a game 5 Rain will crumple a decent percentage of the time under pressure especially since he's 'supposed' to win. At +467, I couldn't resist taking a small stab to win a unit.

I don't think Polt's heart and amazing strategic thinking are good enough to make up for the fact that his mechanics aren't top 10 in the world anymore and win the tournament, but he could get an upset or two along the way.

Firing Byul at +132 map pool is pretty good for Zerg and Classic's had some iffy recent losses. Going small on Byul map 1 too. Full unit for Byul for the series, 0.4u for map 1

Only fired herO map 3 in map by map betting last time for a partial unit, didnt play any other maps.

One more unit on Life -1.5 since price improved. Took some Life ML -373 at matchbook too, there has to be so much casual 'foreigner sweat' money on Lilbow, while he's good for a foreigner there's no way he goes to map 5 with Life a high percentage of the time and i'd be shocked if he wins 15% of the time let alone 25%+

Innovation looked scary good against Zest, although ZvT is a totally diff MU for Life it'll def be the hardest match in the tournament for him. Classic's in good form too, will give herO a tough match in the ro8

3-0 in under 30 mins

Good chance Life -1.5 and even life straight up may be some of the highest ROI esports bets of all time in that if they played 100 series Life may win 99 of them, and cover the spread in 85+ of them and maybe more - feels gross I only had a few units on between them

Added on taking a little Dream -118, Polt +480 and some more sOs -163 then put a small sweat on Polt +1.5 and +2.5

Pretty happy with all of my bets except Dream yesterday, he really should have performed better. Byul let me down, but Classic played well and he was a dog, so not the end of the world. sOs and Life played well, I did expect sOs to win about 3-1 rather than 3-2, but he got the job done in the end, and Polt was clearly an excellent pick at +4xx despite losing 2-3 if we actually watch the games.

I'm expecting sOs and Rogue to win in the ro8, impossible to pick against Innovation but Life has as good as chance as beating him as anyone and if he does he's the favourite to win the tournament probably along with sOs

Added a little more on Life to win it all at +1515 so have 0.55u or so on him in total now, assuming he's +200 vs innovation that means we're getting him at +500ish in the semi finals which is a price i'd snap take given how good his ZvP has been lately - yes, all of the remaining protoss have good PvZ too, but not sure i'd bet against Life at evens against any protoss right now. If I have to pick the most likely outcome i'd say Innovation beats sOs in the grand final, but Innovation is an unbettable favourite in a field this strong with 8 left

Hoping I can get a better price on Rogue and sOs at some point before game time in the next round than the -170ish available. Haven't really done enough analysis of recent herO/Classic PvPs to pick that, Classic being a small favourite looks right on paper as the odds say but idk for sure

Hi guys,

I know this thread is heavily dominated by SC2 bettors, but I'll throw this one out there anyway: Has anybody tried playing a daily fantasy format, i.e. Vulcan for League of Legends? Do you like the daily fantasy format more/less than a traditional betting structure?

Ended up firing Rogue and sOs for 0.8u each at -144 and -146 I think, slightly better price available on sOs now but I didn't want to risk not getting the bet on if I didn't wake up in time. My Life to win it all bet looks good after he takes out Innovation, he's probably +2xx to win it all now on the +15xx bet

Really should have added more on sOs at -139 close probably, but oh well.

Good start, hopefully he can just steamroll Rain, he's def in the better form of the two

Yeah i'm picking a Life vs sOs final at this point I think - wouldn't be surprised to see either Rogue or Classic get there too but Life and sOs are so dynamic and bring it on the big stage

Not sure if i'll hedge my Life +15xx if he faces sOs in the final, depends how he looks vs Rogue I guess. I don't think i'll hedge it vs Rogue unless price is really good.

Even though I have the big Life future to sweat couldn't resist throwing 0.5u on him at -108 vs Classic; Classic looked great vs Byul but Life has the better overall form in the MU and has looked unstoppable in ZvP series lately

I expect sOs to beat Rogue but the line seems about right so no play unless it swings a lot in either direction

Byun is a monster. That's all. Smashing Byun all day in LOTV

If any SC2 fans want to watch one of the sickest TvTs ever, map 2 vs TY in Shoutcraft

Adding on for every future map this series I think he 4-0s now

Unbelievable comeback from TY, thought he was getting 4-0'd for sure. Hopefully Byun can still finish the series off.

Must say that I thought that was all over at 2-0. Feels gross to lose a couple units for the day after that start

Interesting he had to pause due to 'hand issues' in the last map that may have something to do with it.

I'm betting on daily league of legend matches this weekend. I've never tried traditional betting structure, by that i'm guessing season long bets. I'm enjoying the daily betting so far, keeps me interested in the matches.
I usually pick a bunch of players from the same team but not sure if that is the best strat.

It's been a long time since I was around the poker world. I stumbled across those teamliquid threads (despite no interest in Starcraft) and it brought back memories of 2+2'ers trying to explain logic to - what appear to be - 14 year old fanboys.

So thanks to Swoop, Mantrid, StarG et. al. for bringing me back here. I even fired up FullTilt for the first time since before Black Friday, and man, what a shell of it's former self it has become.

Fired Lambo +219 against Bly and Elazer +189 against Showtime.

ZvZ is very chaotic right now and even though Bly is a good cheeser I think Lambo is an underrated player with a decent shot at beating bly.

ZvP is quite Zerg favoured right now and Showtime showed weakness yesterday losing to Bly and winning 2-1 to SortOf. Also Elazer is another underrated player who has always played well against Protoss.

I parlayed TY+Solar today at -118 for 1.2u

Bomber put up a better fight than I thought vs TY, although I may have been overrating TY's TvT due to his incredible comeback vs Byun who is basically the best terran in LOTV atm. I did get to watch the games but on the road house hunting on mobile internet atm so probably won't get to see Solar vs Parting, in real time at least

Solar doesn't seem to lose in ZvP in LOTV so even though Parting is a boss I think Solar should get the job done and close it out hopefully. From everything i'm hearing Solar and Byun are still the 2 best LOTV players, wouldn't be shocked to see one of them win the first LOTV Code S title if they choose to compete rather than chase the overseas money

LOTV here we go

Been watching a bit but not enough to be an expert on who's good yet so most of it is fading name value and results/map based

Dogs seem to have been doing quite well so far since who was good in HOTS isnt always translating to who is good at LOTV. Have fired a few small bets but nothing significant yet as I haven't had time to watch all of the games

Fired four in for today granted based on limited capping (was expecting to be on TY but analysis said Hurricane, others I ended up on the side I expected at the current prices)

For record keeping sake lets call each bet 1u (in reality im going a bit smaller than a unit on everything until LOTV establishes a meta of some sort as these bets are based on pretty limited analysis and sample) and ill just count everything as 1u at the original price I bet.

Today's games

Hurricane +118
Jjakji +194
Armani +129
Losira -138

gl all

If anyone is following the LOTV scene more closely than i've been so far feedback would be much appreciated. I was very impressed with Jjakji yesterday, I think at +194 he's my favourite bet today feels like it should be closer to evens (I feel like Losira's a moderate fav and all three of my dogs are close to coinflips today)

First season of proleague should be interesting, Jinair's core team's form seems a bit worrying but plenty of time and adding Creator to the team in a new game should add some depth in a proper training environment he has potential to be a top 10 player still.
