Solid 0-4 start. Guess we're back to the drawing board for a while glad I didn't bet big on anything. I guess 3 of the 4 were dogs. Ouch.

They added CoD on bet365. Definitely going to be having a go at that once the world league starts. I would've crushed if they had it at the end of last season I did some fantasy betting and brackets that were great. Also some of the starting odds they got look like free money lol

After the patches go through you'll want to bet terran a lot, if we follow game logic. Right now there's basically a system of T<P<Z<T. They're planning to nerf early game P and nothing else. PvT has basically been the reverse of HotS TvP: back then terrans had to attack early-midgame or lose to late game toss army, and now protoss is basically at the same point given that they lose pretty hard to liberators. Now if terran is helped against adepts, assuming the nerf is enough (which I think it is), that should create a situation where T>=P, and T>Z.

I bet on CSGO a bit and have some friends who bet on DOTA, it's definitely still beatable but it's too time consuming to handicap for me to bet on anything beyond the major tournaments really

There are tons of opportunities and consistent errors in the market. Limits are low but - too some extent - it can be made up for in pure volume. Depending on which bookmakers you have access too you can easily make 60+ bets a day w/ expected value of 5-20%. A 1-2 year ago I would have put that number even higher but bookmakers are generally getting more efficient.

But it is all about developing a method that allows you to scale. Spending time analyzing each bet on a case-by-case basis leads you nowhere. Personally I used and refined various techniques over the past year that allowed me to gain a solid profit. Atm. I mostly rely on huge databases that I have for both LOL and CS:GO that allows me to model those games (incl deriviaties) somewhat effectively.

I would also argue that other esports besides CSGO and LOL are a waste of time though. There aren't enough different types of bets you can make on those matches.

What books do people recommend for this. Specifically I'm in early stages investigating LoL and DotA. Pinny seems to have lots of lines, totals, spreads, props, futures and whatnot. Nitrogen is tailing Pinny's lines. I see an occasional esports line from 5dimes, heritage, and BM but nothing like Pinny. I'd be interested in both other books tailing Pinny's lines precisely (like Nitrogen) as well as books working independently.

Did anybody have action on any of the game handicap bets for the Dota Summit yesterday before the wagers got taken down? I'm trying to figure out if I got freerolled.

These would be wagers like Kinguin +1.5 (in either series), Complexity -1.5, Virtus Pro -1.5, Sacred +1.5 or Evil Geniuses -1.5. I'm trying to figure out how these were graded since the serieses were not true best of 3s as all 3 games were played regardless of the outcome of the first two.

where did you get this offer?

seems ******ed to offer these handicaps if they will play 3 games regardless

Thoughts on the HS WC lines? I'm seeing Kolento at 1.645 and JasonZhou at 2.202 and I'm thinking there's no way there's that big of a difference between two high level players in HS. Also Docpwn at 2.34. Tempted to just take anyone over 2.2

I bet a lot of opening lines and this bet was widely available at the open including on Pinnacle. The odds on offer -- comparing the per game odds with the handicap odds -- were in line as if the bet was a Bo3. On the day of the tournament but before the games started, the tournament organizers issued a clarification saying all 3 games were going to be played (I've never seen another Dota tournament before or since in this format). Neither the website for the tournament nor Liquipedia were very clear before that. The only way to win -1.5 is to go 3-0 in this format rather than 2-0 if this was a Bo3. These map handicap bets became no longer offered at that point on Pinnacle and as far as I saw everywhere else as well. Crucially, the site I bet on was no longer offering the bet at that point but they did not cancel mine. I can't be 100% sure but I strongly suspect that Pinnacle cancelled the wagers as their rules are pretty clear on this sort of thing.

My wager was not cancelled and ended up being a loss although it would have been a loss regardless of the format change. I had emailed support before the match started to clarify the wager -- were they going to cancel or apply to the first two games -- but I may have just alerted them to a freeroll opportunity. I'm chalking this up to the cost of doing business with less than great books. Fortunately esports limits are low and opening esports limits are even lower.

You can bet tens of thousands at Pinny on major tourneys now and single digit thousands on minor stuff. Esports is for real and yes obviously lots of derivatives out there especially if you have access to a ton of books. I haven't done much esports for a while since my focus has been elsewhere but there are definitely people beating it for decent sums now the days of $200 limits are long in the past for esports - most of the action is LOL DoTA2 and CSGO though for reasonable limits.

No I have hundreds of variables per match. Why would you assume otherwise based on nothing and then make a laugh about it? Why are you even making comments when you have nothing of value to add.

When you play a game and someone calls you a hacker because you outplayed them, you should take that as a compliment.

Thank you for your comment.

But please go on about how I am lying, what my motivation might be (give me a real conspiracy). Like what is my main account and ofc show how what I just wrote would be impossible to do (I assume you say so).

Thanks in advance.

To be fair, I also use hundreds of variables per match when live betting Dota but almost all of them are a variation on "is $HERO on $SIDE". Other than those, I use ~10.
