I bet horses in the casino and the games are just on the TV. They didn't even have a TV for us horse races last night, wall to wall of the NBA game.

Can't remember the last time I saw a projection as high as Scherzer's today. Wonder what TomG (have to expand that table past o7) and bettertimes have or what line is posted. I'm guessing this might come down when the first morning update comes through, but who knows. I only have him projected currently for 19.7 outs which seems crazy that about 11 of them will be K's.

Giolito is too good, I don't know why my model has been hating on his the last couple of starts after riding him to success early on. Helped that the ump called about 5 looking third strikes way out of the box

I am not sure why Muzzy is the dog here. Maybe because StrifeCro is such a fan favorite? Or perhaps because StrifeCro is 4-2 and Muzzy is 3-3. Muzzy is #3 in the World, StrifeCro is #40 per GosuGamers.

I'm generally going to be betting on decks that play SN1P-SN4P most of the time, but this is a 36% match-up for Mech Paladin according to HSReplay. On top of that, Muzzy is playing 2 main deck Frost Novas which is just a nightmare for Paladin (most have 1 in the sideboard at most.)

That said, StrifeCro has a good board plan for Muzzy here with +2 Equality/+2 Consecration, while Muzzy won't be siding at all.

I took Muzzy for both Game 1 and the match.

If you're going to be up at 4 in the morning and want either a sweat or a match-up so long and boring you'll be lulled to sleep, I present

Tyler (-110) vs. Bloodtrail (-127)

Mirror match-up with only 3 cards difference in the main decks. Tyler has 1 Acolyte of Pain, 1 Omega Devastator, 1 Jepetto Joybuzz where Bloodtrail has 1 Weapons Project, 1 SN1P-SN4P, 1 Harrison Jones.

Game 1 is a flip. Weapons Project is a horrendous card in the mirror but nothing really matters because whoever draws Dr. Boom, Mad Genius first is going to win.

They both also have similar sideboarding plans with again only 3 cards difference. Tyler has 1 Omega Devastator, 1 Cairne Bloodhoof, 1 Grommash Hellscream where Bloodtrail has 1 SN1P-SN4P, 1 Barista Lynchen, 1 Seaforium Bomber. Here I give a definite edge to Tyler; his legendaries are bigger and more impactful.

Tyler is on a very good team, compLexity, while Bloodtrail is a free agent. Tyler is currently Rank #1 on the Asia ladder and streams; I know nothing of Bloodtrail other than he won the Invitational last year.

I don't think there's a ton of value here but I am surprised Tyler is the dog. I bet on Tyler to win the match only.

Ryvius -118 over che0ngsu Match

Could only find one picture of Ryvius in GIS and it was him playing Warrior and falling asleep. He is clearly prepped for this Warrior mirror. Also Lieutenant che0nsu, you ain't got no sideboard! These are the two worst players in the group with Ryvius at 2-4 and che0nsu 1-5.

FroStee +106 over Flurry Game 1

I always preferred Frostys to McFlurrys. The worst matchup for Tempo Rogue (Flurry 4-1) is Bomb Warrior (FroStee 2-3). This is a rematch from last month which went 2-1 Flurry and they've both brought very similar decks again. FroStee's Bomb Warrior list was kinda junky and unrefined before though and now it's a well-polished meta monster, whereas the Rogue class has taken a ton of nerfs. Unfortunately FroStee has no SB for this matchup while Flurry basically transforms his deck into a Toggwaggle Scheme combo deck.

Staz -110 over Surrender Match

Both players are on sponsored teams, Surrender (2-3) on SKT South Korea Telecom, one of the biggest esports teams in Korea and Staz (1-4) Bren eSports, which I've never heard of. This is a rematch with Surrender beating Staz previously 2-1. Surrender is bringing Bomb Warrior again, with Staz switching from Mage to Spell Hunter, which is the highest winrate deck on the ladder at 56.1%; its Bomb Warrior matchup is only 50.7%, though. The problem for Surrender here is that he has no good SB plans for Spell Hunter - Weapons Project is usually great against Hunter but not the card you want here. Meanwhile Staz has late-game nasties 2x Savannah Highmane, 1x Nine Lives, 1x Unleash the Beast.

That TBA/BOS Game was a roller coaster.

Matz striking out 5 in the first 2 innings was clearly a sign the rest of the night was going to be a disaster and after Sampson got 2 in the T1 I turned off the MLB app for the rest of the night.

Following the Giolito start was comical. T1 no k's, proceeds to get 11 k's on his next 12 outs. MLB.com had an article the other day about how he spent his offseason working on improving his spin rates and his mental approach through some program that reads brainwaves or something. As someone who lives in Chicago and kind of casually follows the White Sox there's probably no way they initiated that and guessing he took that up on his own accord.
